I was so excited to meet up with some friends at Besito as I have been here a few times previously and sat at the bar for some apps and drinks which were great.
This time was very different. We arrived for our 7:00 p.m. reservation and we were running a little behind our friends who we were meeting there. We were greeted by a hostess that was sitting on her phone at one of the chairs behind the hostess stand. It immediately set the tone for our dinner which was messy and inconsistent.
We started our order with a frozen la casa margarita and a spicy margarita that was a recommendation by our very friendly server. We received them and the frozen cocktail was extremely strong and tasted of only frozen tequila with some color. It wasn't a crafted cocktail by any means.
Our apps were great! The guacamole was good as were the tostadas topped with meet cheese and veggies.
For our entrees, our friends ordered salads which were entirely too overdressed and inedible in addition to my tacos which I had to send back due to the potent smell of a really dirty grill. I never ever send anything back to the kitchen. I'm an industry person who completely understands an off night or the kitchen being overwhelmed but it really smelled so bad that I literally could not eat it. The enchiladas we ordered were bland but edible so we shared. We also sat without any water and had to ask multiple times for refills on the same empty glasses. Had these meals had spice and flavor, it would have been a real issue.
Overall I wouldn't come back or recommend to anyone. I'm surprised that the main line has no good Mexican options other than El Limon. I was so hopeful but was very disappointed.
Our server Shelby was fantastic. She helped recommend some great drink options for us and was very attentive. Our food was a little disappointing. I ordered a Mahi Mahi dish that was very overcooked. The fish itself was overcooked and tough to eat. My wife also wasn't very thrilled with her dish. She said it was a bit bland. I understand that things happen and it won't deter us from coming back and giving Besito another try.
best mexican food around. highly recommended. guac at table great, love flavor and texture.
Everything was wonderful.
Sat us in a back room shut off from the rest of the restaurant which kind of ruins the atmosphere. If they want to sit you back there tell them you want to be seated in the main restaurant.
Excellent as always. The echiladas in particular are fantastic if you've never tried them.

Good food. Noisy, service was lacking and women’s bathroom was very dirty. Otherwise it was good.
Unfortunately we had a bad experience with a very rushed waiter named Brian. We went along with his recommendations which were not up to par with his palate. Both our entrees were served not hot and needed to be sent back,but only by another waiter who noticed we weren't eating.Brian was busy rushing around on other customers.The manager Renee ( very nice and apologetic) made adjustments on our check:) Unfortunately the food was far from amazing

Empty on a random Monday night. The food was good, not typical American Mexican. Our server was knowledgeable and engaging. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals.
Besitos is a great place to grab a drink and some queso with a friend!
Great guacamole and chips mixed tableside. The margaritas were excellent. A perfect lunch in Ardmore. The tortilla soup was outstanding and highly recommended. Great job!
We have dined at this restaurant once before. Everything was great. We like the decor and atmosphere. We prefer to sit in a booth. The greeter told us that the booths were reserved. We saw no one come in and be seated at the booths. She kept looking back at us a few times during our meal. Maybe she knew she lied to us or the reservations canceled? Not good.
Melted cheese & chorizo appetizer was delicious but three tortillas are not enough. Five is perfect. The waitress kindly brought out more. My son & I had too much mole’ sauce on our burritos. We will dine there once more to see if it will be a hit like the 1st time.
First time at Besito, I had heard great things and was not disappointed! Great drinks, food, and service.
First time back in a couple of years. Go for the ambiance, drinks, and good service. Food is ok. Liked the ceviche and tortilla soup. Flavors in the sauce accompanying the fish veracruz were good, but were bland and lacking on the blue corn crusted fish. Both were tough and overcooked. This is definitely Americanized/modern Mexican cuisine. If you want authentic/classic Mexican, checkout Buena Vista in Ardmore.
Nice margaritas and the enchiladas I got were great. Our waiter was wonderful too
It was okay. The meal was a little too bland for us. Other things was great. Beautiful ambience.
Dinner for New Year’s Eve was great. Everything was delicious as usual, and the service was great.
First time trying this restaurant- we are huge Mexican food fans, and we were all underwhelmed. The guacamole was the only thing that was worth it. Our server was very pushy and tried to “up sell” us on everything we ordered. He was not friendly, and seemed annoyed when I wanted to order an appetizer as my meal. We will not go back.
The food was not great both got tacos one swordfish one skirt steak lacking flavor in both. Guacamole was ok not great for a Mexican place.
Thanks you so much, enjoyed my birthday with family an incredible time and meal. I could have went anywhere Capital Grille etc.. I chose Besito and was extremely happy with that choice.

I always enjoy Besito when I go. The ambiance, taste of the food and service are all superior.
The staff, servers and atmosphere of Besito led us to have high expectations. However, the food was bland or overcooked and disappointing. The salsa had little flavor and the queso had zero flavor. Their mixto skillet looked good but it again had the same flavorless cheese as the queso, with chorizo that was burned and chicken that had zero marinade/flavor. The steak in the mixto was good however. The tortillas tasted somewhat like chalk...no flavor. The dish also came with a small cup of black beans and another of rice to be shared between two people. This is the first time that I ever had a bad experience with Mexican food. Usually, it is unbelievably flavorful.
This is my 5th time at Besito and normally it’s a great experience. However on this particular night the service was very slow and I had food sickness immediately after. The servers did not understand us clearly with English and my order came out wrong the first time.
Great food, lovely atmosphere. Hiccups in service were corrected after we mentioned it.

The food and atmosphere were great. Our server Shelby was friendly and attentive as well. Great place to go for a date night. This was my first time coming to Besito and it certainly won’t be my last.

Delicious food and wonderful service! We loved seeing the festive made-up skeleton faces of some of the staff that night (Nov. 2).
Last weekend was my 3rd visit to Besito. The food and service continue to be excellent. However, the noise level has become intolerable. I understand that as a restaurant becomes more popular and more crowded, it may become somewhat noisier. However, management must do something to muffle sounds. Besito has several separate dining areas. Why not take the smaller ones and add significant soundproofing. Also, so not place tables for 10 next to tables for 2!
The “crispy jumbo lump crab cake” salad consisted of fried blobs of mushy bread with no hint of crab meat whatsoever. A complete fraud for $14.95 at lunch.
Always delicious but the service was sporadic at best and it wasn't busy.
The quality of the food has improved along with the service with new management. Very good authentic healthy food selections in a beautiful atmosphere. Fun outdoor dining in a trendy spot. Highly recommend this restaurant for your go to Mexican food fix.
