Besa Grill - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Food was very good as usual. Petit filet (6 oz.) was tender, moist, and perfectly cooked. Blackened redfish was delicious and large. Sides of sauteed veggies nicely seasoned and fresh. Yellow rice was different! App. of Besa Besa shrimp with spicy aioli sauce was delectable. Best of all , bottles of wine were 50% discounted!!! When we questioned this, server told us they were closing soon (yes going out of business!!!). We were shocked as their food and service have always been quite good. We will miss them!
First of all, when you go here ask for Dakota to be your waitress.....
This restaurant was very accommodating to our food requests. We had ordered the crab cake appetizer which was good. Then both of us wanted vegetables. We asked it the kitchen could create a vegetable platter for us to share.... What a lovely creation they was prepared for us.
Dakota, our waitress, brought out to platters so artistically prepared....
The first one had 2 serving of a medoly of yellow squash, zucchini, onions, and red pepper that were all sautéed. The send platter, again artistically prepared was steamed asparagus in the center with Sautéed spinach mounds on either side off it....
What a. New wonderful dish the chef created.... We will be back....
I was extremely disappointed in Besa Grill on Mother's Day. We had a reservation, were promptly, handed a beautiful specially prepared limited menu for the day, then promptly forgotten. After 30 minutes I went to the maitre d' stand and asked who are server was and if we could at least get some water. I had to go to front and ask three times before we even ordered. One waiter was so indifferent when I asked him who was supposed to be taking care of us. And yet, when I asked him his name as we exited, he had time to come out to my car, while I was trying to load my visibly exhausted 87 year old aunt, and ask if he had done something. After the long wait, the food was ok. I know holidays are tough on everyone, but the restaurant took my reservation willingly, prepared a lovely handout with interesting options, and that was the absolute best of it; after receiving the menu it all went downhill from there. This only confirmed what I already know - don't eat out on a holiday. I was trying to create a lovely afternoon for a few older ladies that turned into an exhausting disaster. I have always enjoyed Besa Grill, that's why I chose it, but it will be a long time before I think about going there again. There are just too many lovely places to chose from where you are taken care of properly and in a hospitable manner than to accept mediocrity. Thank you.
On Saturday night less than 30% occupied. Service was exceptuonally slow. For table of 3 they gave us 4 tiny pieces of bread after waiting 20 minutes. Adjacent table of 6 left after waiting for 30 min to order. We should have left too. Food was overcooked and calamari like rubber. Pricey and NOT worth half the price.
We went to Besa Grill based on the fact that trip advisor listed it as Mexican. There is nothing Mexican about it other than the one taco selection and the appetizer nachos. Not even close to Mexican. Our waiter forgot to bring us five different things. He was gracious about it but we wondered what was wrong with him.
We went to Besa on 2/19 at 6:00. We had a play to see at 8:00 (5 minutes away) and told the waitress this. She was not very attentive. We had to ask multiple times for bread, drinks and our checks. We made the play with 2 minutes to spare.
The food was exceptional. High quality and with unique options. We will definitely go back.
The food was amazing, I had the ribeye and my wife had the salmon1 both had lots of good flavor and a fare price. However the service was terrible, after I was finished with my salad the waitress did not remove the plate from the table until I asked her to and took about an hour to get the food, after the food came it was very apparent that it was left under the heat lamp for quite some time because the garlic mashed potatoes had formed a dry skin on top of them and ruin the flavor. After my wife and I finished the meal our waitress took approximately 40 minutes to remove our main plates and to ask if we would like desert. after finishing dessert it took the waitress about 30 minutes to bring us the check after all plates were cleared from the table and asked several times for the check. Overall the food was phenomenal however the service was extremely subpar for the image that this faculty portrays. If you have copious amounts of time and are willing to wait for your food and don't mind the poor service it is an amazing restaurant.
Our service from the waiter was excellent! The hostess needs to b trained that on Valentine's Day, especially, for a table for 2, to seat those who have reservations at the cozy tables that line the wall (booths) or towards the back, not in the front or middle of the restaurant.
Went there after reading of the great brunch. We were pressed for time bc we had to work. Got there to find out they had limited special menu which in my opinion was over priced. We were the first guests. Saw how every guests that came in and found out there was no brunch, walked away. No apologies from management whatsoever. One server told the table next to us :" what you see is what you get" that was kind of rude. We had planned a nice valentine brunch and was ruined because there was no mention anywhere of special menu, otherwise so many people would not have walked out. In the end we thought we would make the best of it. I give you the fact that food was amazing. When we got the check found we were charged about the same price for appetizer and entrée. The waitress claimed it was a computer glitch. I let it go once it was fixed. I think the least the manager could have done was to come to the table to apologize and or even invite us back. At least thats what I would have done that at my place of employment in hospitality. Very dissapointed and hope they invest in some customer service training on how to handle difficult situations.
Had the salmon flatbread - LOVED it!!! Super yummy! Shrimp and scallop pasta was delicious and the strip steak with lime cilantro marinade--awesome. Large portion of Creme brûlée. Great dessert. Prices are more like $$-$$$. $96 for Pepsi, medium level red wine, flatbread, pasta, steak, and Creme brûlée.
Did a double date for dinner... my wife and I both had the prime rib. Both were excellent! Our waiter, Christian, had a great personality even though they were busy. The other couple with us had a combo tacos - one fish one chicken one steak which she was too crazy about and my brother had a seafood pasta dish which he raved about. Overall it was a very nice experience and hope to return soon.
What a wonderful find in Clearwater! The food was delicious I enjoyed the Cedar Plank salmon and my husband had the Mahi. For dessert the fried banana cheesecake is a must do at least once! Sinful but ohhh so good. Great atmosphere music playing an attentive wait staff made for a great night out! Oh and the bill was the best part not ridiculous :)
We (three ladies) dined there for the first time. We came early to get the two meals for $30 deal. We ordered then were told that one person could not get that deal. Every place else we go that has a similar deal gives the single person half off. The manager/chef came out and gave us some really illogical reasons why he couldn't do it. We said we would just leave; then he said he would do it just this one time. Certainly very bad customer relations. Even though the food was excellent, we won't be returning to Besa Grill. The waitress was very nice, but disappeared for a good part of the evening.
Visited for brunch recently - wonderful, friendly service and great food. My only concern during this visit is that there were kids from a nearby table running around circling other tables, including the one I was in and the restaurant staff did nothing about it. Still, I would return.
