The service was terrific, everyone was helpful and friendly. The food was delicious, the filet melted in my mouth. My wife is an oyster fanatic and said they were the best she ever tasted. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for food in Colonial Williamsburg. Great job everyone!!!
We went for seafood that was quite good, particularly the scallops, but the duck three ways won the prize. It was exemplary. The confit fell apart, as it should. Succulent, rich, the perfect bite. The duck sausage had a little too much cinnamon and could have used a sear, but those are picky points - it was delicious. Finally, the duck breast was cooked exactly as it should be, slightly above medium rare and was so tender it melted in my mouth. The accompanying grits were unremarkable and much too large a portion. The asparagus was tasty. A reasonably priced bottle of Boen Pinot Noir rounded out the meal. thank you!
My waiter was the Best. Brandon was very helpful in menu choices. Food was outstanding
We have returned here several times. The menu is varied with a number of options. We always choose seafood, but noticed chicken, beef, and vegetarian choices as well. The waitstaff provides attentive yet unobtrusive service and we have enjoyed the leisurely pace of the meals, even during the busy time in December. I highly recommend the seafood and pasta feast!
Old school seafood restaurant. good foo ad service.
Very good oysters. She crab soup sorely lacking in crabmeat. Fish was grossly over cooked, dry, and of questionable freshness despite asking for it slightly undercooked. Truly the rockfish special was inedible. Sides were good and at least that left something on the plate to eat.
Would not recommend and will not return.
We were seated on time. Friendly host and waitress. Food was tasty and timely delivered
Food and cocktails were incredible and they gave us a split of champagne for our anniversary!
The service was excellent. Lance was our waiter and he did a wonderful job explaining the dinners. The food was fantastic.
The service was excellent. Food was good, with small portions.
Dinner was fabulous and the prices were reasonable. Our waiter Christian was fabulous.
Brianna was excellent server. Food was excellent. Great place
Our waiter, Andrew, made the experience the best! The food was exceptional and then a great waiter puts Berret’s at the top of our list of favorites in Williamsburg!
Very good food and excellent service at Berret's! Our group of four met for lunch after exploring the historic town and visiting museums. The men were pleased to see that baked or raw oysters were available at $1 each and ordered several of the baked ones, which were delicious. Two of us had crab cakes, which were not as tasty as those in we have had in Baltimore. The others shared a salad. Three of us shared an excellent bottle of Zinfandel (there was an interesting wine list of reasonably-priced bottles. Some of the wines were available by the glass.) We were very pleased to have eaten at Berret's.
Andrew our server was great!!!
Great food and great staff. Would eat there again if in town. Only downside was the Styrofoam they used for kids drinks which was totally unneeded.
Such a great meal with lovely service. I love how the kids meal looks like the grown up menu.
We arrived well before our early reservation and were seated immediately. Seasonal drinks were excellent. The She-Crab soup was delicious, as always, with a little sherry. For entrees, my wife selected the pistachio crusted salmon and shrimp and I had the seafood baked in parchment. Both were excellent. We've already made reservations for our next trip to town.
We absolutely love Berrets! Every time we're in town we make a point to stop here at least once (if not twice)! Every thing we've ordered has been incredible.
Our annual visit did not disappoint and we will always look forward to dinner at Berretts on our annual visit to the area. Exceptional in every way!
We had a wonderful seafood dinner, made better by Christian’s attentive service.
Went for my Husband’s birthday. Waiter was great about food allergies and wine recommendations. Wonderful experience!
Always excellent. Great food and service.
Loved the meal. Generous portions. Delicious!!! Will come back!!!
We always enjoy Barrett’s! One of our Williamsburg favorites!
good place to eat and spend time with your family and friend
Consistent. Well prepared food, delivered hot. Great location if visiting Historic Williamsburg.
Very nice Birthday dinner with my wife. The Fried tomato appetizer was great as was the special en papillote.
The staff and service were exceptional. Their seasonal cocktails were great, we had the hot Buttered Bourbon and the Bourbon Daisy. Our entrees and dessert were delicious, but the Brussel Sprouts appetizer left something to be desired. We would definitely return.
The crab dip and shrimp and grits were outstanding. Excellent customer service. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Great food, waitress was not focused. Wrong food delivered, and never returned to check on us. Still a good value for the money.
The Blue Plate (I think that’s what it was calked) was wonderful! Best She Crab soup we have ever had! We ate there for lunch on Christmas Eve, so very reasonable . We sat in the sun room so it was a little hot in there. But beer, food, and service were all outstanding!
We ordered several types of seafood and everything was excellent!
This place was a very nice surprise. Most restaurants overcook seafood , but the chef here was on his game ! We will be back !
This is a good casual seafood restaurant with excellent food and service. I highly recommend it.
Highly recommend Berret’s. Food and service were excellent.
Somewhat disappointed in our lunch. There were four of us. Stay away from Chicken lunch entree. Crab cakes were good but mine came with cold 3cheese grits which may have been good if were hot or at lest warm. Service was fine. Ambiance ok.
Brandon was great! Made our experience one of a kind we will be back!
The food was a bit bland and the fish in the Virginia Fried Catfish dish (fish and chips) was over cooked and really oily. Tasted like it was fried in oil that needed to be changed. Not all was bad, the hot cider was awesome and the crab dip was great.
