Berrets is one of the best rated restaurants in Williamsburg and to me there is no doubt.
From the attention of the wait staff, the fantastic dishes, to the delivery of the food, Berrets definitely tops ALL others. Their New England clam chowder is simply the best and is the best of all others that we had ever tried. Cannot say enough about this restaurant. If you happen to be in the area, you will not regret a lunch or dinner here.

We requested outside seating because of Covid and food was good .

We had the mahi-mahi, shrimp with scallops and ravioli, and chicken dinners. All three were delicious. I couldn’t get enough of the sauce over the ravioli. The portion size was very generous and the service was exceptional. All in all an extremely enjoyable experience. We will most definitely go back when we return to Williamsburg.

Outstanding crab cakes and she-crab soup. Mari-mahi and shrimp were also delicious. Atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming.

They did an amazing job making our large group feel comfortable. The spacing outside was perfect. The food and drinks are always delicious 😋

We had a delicious meal. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Restaurant was clean and all social distancing was in place.

Love their clam chowder and salad with grilled salmon was fresh and delicious. I also enjoyed the key lime pie with strawberry coulis and fresh berries. My daughter loved their sangria.

Yum Yum and Yum! This is a must visit when you are in W'burg VA! The seafood and the staff is most inviting. They even had a music artist performing outdoors for your convenience! Please GO! .... Oh the Halibut is to "live for".

This is a very nice restaurant, the food was great. I fell in love with the garlic bread. It was love at first bite. The staff is practicing social distancing and very friendly. We didn’t wait too long for the food. When it came out it was hot and fresh. There was a live guitarist/singer outside setting the mood. This was a pleasant experience. If I ever go back to Williamsburg, I will definitely go back to this restaurant.

We sat outside, so there was some traffic noise, but it wasn’t terrible.

Excellent service in the historic district of Williamsburg. Charming restaurant with a varied menu for all taste's. A very nice choice in the midst of COVID - with plenty of seating inside and outside in a lovely patio setting. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed a lovely dinner with friends at Berrett's on Monday, June 15, 2020. Our server, Channing, was very nice and helpful, and the food was perfect. I ordered the seafood served in parchment paper, which was delicious. One friend ordered shrimp two ways; I know from previous experience that Berrett's serves excellent fried shrimp, coated in a saltine cracker crust. My other friend ordered the wonderful blue plate special, which I have also thoroughly enjoyed on a prior occasion. I have visited several restaurants in Colonial Williamsburg, and Berrett's is consistently the best.

We have eaten here often and the food is consistently delicious. The crab cakes and She Crab soup are particular favorites of ours. This is a lovely place to eat in a wonderful part of Williamsburg.

We dined there yesterday to help our local restaurant. They, like many other places are struggling to keep folks employed. We eat there at least monthly and thought this might be a great time to show our support again. Food is always wonderful there and it was nice to have it so quiet. Usually the place is popping with people, so we enjoyed the intimate dining experience. Hoping more locals and visitors will stop by and help them out. You will NOT be disappointed. The food is always amazing there. The desserts, especially the carrot cake, is NOT to be missed!

Wonderful night celebrating a birthday. We had a lovely table by the fireplace. The fried oysters and fried calamari to start were delicious . Oysters are perfectly done. The seafood baked in Parchment was generous enough to be split between the two of us. Crabcakes were delicious. We would definitely go back

Every time I drive from DC Metro to visit my daughter at William and Mary I take her to dinner at Barrett’s. The food is consistently excellent as is the service. Wonderful people and a great environment! Keep it up!!

It was a good experience in point of service and ambiance, but the food didn't impress us at all. Had She crab soup, oyster stew, fried green tomatoes (which were the worst tasting from all the dishes) and cobbler for dessert. The only dish that left a good impression was cobbler. Unfortunately I can't say we'd like to come back.

Excellent Seafood and other entrees. Their parchment seafood dishes are excellent. Good wine, excellent cocktails.

5 of us dined; all 5 felt the entrees were great. Nice selection of local beer on tap as well.

Service is excellent but the price is not justifiable. The quality of the food was just okay at best. I ordered fried oysters with a 7oz filet. The steak & the oysters you could tell were not fresh. They did remove from the bill and again I will say the staff was excellent. I did get the she-crab soup as an app and it was phenomenal.

Great service. Seafood combi special was terrific value, shared it and brought some home for lunch. Highly recommended. Had been here previously in the summer, but great seasonal winter options also.

The meal was delicious and the service was excellent. Never had a bad meat at Barrett's.

Berret’s never disappoints. The food was outstanding and we had a delightful server (Jessica B). The only negative is the space is tight and the tables are close together. Sometimes I felt I should join in our neighbors’ conversation.

Loved the atmosphere, the room we were in was super cute. My boyfriend loved the beta fish hanging bowls. Wish we were there during the summer, the outdoor seating looked fun and comfortable

Valentine’s Day

We ate here for Valentine's Day and had a wonderful experience. Our waiter was friendly, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. I had the filet with brie which was cooked perfectly. Fried shrimp was added which was also delicious and cooked well. My only complaint was that the steak was in a sea of BBQ sauce which was not on the menu. The BBQ sauce overpowered the taste of the brie. I ended up taking the brie off and eating it with the bread served before the meal. My husband had the blue plate special which he really enjoyed. He said the crab cakes, oysters and shrimp were all extremely tasty. His only note was that the she crab soup was just crab in broth. It needed some herbs. We finished with the peach and raspberry cobbler which was delicious. It was a huge portion so we took some back to our hotel. Overall, would go back again. Thank you for a wonderful night.

Me and my wife could not asked for a better experience. The waitress was very good and the food was good also. my wife got the muscles as an appetizer and enjoyed them so much that she was unable to finish her meal. Five star restaurant with an excellent ambiance and a staff that Is second to none. They also have a good selection of local beers that are available in 3oz pours. Deelish. Don't sell yourself short. If you have a chance you need to visit this restaurant.

Service was very poor. Took quite a while before waiter came to the table to acknowledge us and even longer before coming back to take our order. Received appetizer before our cocktails. Asked about bread that we saw in everyone’s table and was told that it usually comes after the appetizer when clearly all the other tables had bread shortly after being seated. Fried green tomatoes were outstanding. We asked for additional bread, which was wonderful, which we never received and never received the artificial sweetener that we also asked for. Husband had shrimp two ways and both lack flavoring. I had filet with Brie which I asked to be cooked medium. Outer edge of steak was medium well and the center was blue. Waiter finally came to check on the table and we said what the problems were and he didn’t offer to do anything to correct the meals. We had had enough and asked for the check. When the check arrived he became Chatty Cathy wanting to know where we were from and other small talk. Sadly, not a good experience for us and we had been looking forward to this meal all day.
