One of the most memorable anniversary dinner. The entire meal including starters , main course and desert were expertly prepared. The staff was very attentive and personable. Will recommend to our friends as a must dine experience.
Great overall. A little under loved in terms of service.
This is not only one of London's most beautiful dining rooms, it's also warm and welcoming. The staff's service is truly outstanding starting with the people at the front who greet you with sincerity. The wait staff is fun and international. They take their duties seriously but obviously enjoy serving people. The quality of the food is absolutely first rate and of the highest standards. I seldom write these on OpenTable but Berners Tavern is so exceptional I really wanted to. I'm already looking forward to going back.
I went here for a date, had the most amazing time.
Great! Colleagues and I loved it!
We’ve been to Berners Tavern a few times during the week for dinner and it was good. We decided to try it out for brunch on Saturday (arrived at 1415). We had the pork pie as an appetizer and it was the only thing my wife and I had in common. We are both feeling very sick now.
I also had the steak with broccoli as a side. The steak was reddish from the outside with some burnt edges; it looked simply weird (maybe it was reheated?). It didn’t taste as bad as it looked but that’s not saying much. The fries weren’t great and seemed like they’ve been reheated. The broccoli came with cheddar cheese and almonds. It looked like a lame home made attempt at something new and wasn’t good.
One of the waiters took my plate while I was chewing my last bite, he was clearly still in training as a more senior waiter would be teaching them.
Overall, it was bad enough that we’ll not come back again.
Beautiful restaurant with a great ambience and good service. However I was disappointed by the food - I came with high expectations - most of which I found a little unexceptional. The Mac n Cheese was distinctly average, the cod was ok but nothing to rave about. Other meals were nice but not excellent. And I found it all rather expensive for what it was.
Great venue. Excellent staff. Really enjoyed the lunch menu. Wine too expensive. A reasonably priced house white/red/rose is needed and would be much appreciated by not just us. I noticed that a lot of people were only having wine by the glass and making it last even though I accept it was lunchtime. We often eat in London and wouldn’t return to Berners Tavern for this reason.
The restaurant itself is stunning! Just grabbing a drink there would be worth it, but the food and service were divine! I had the sole and my friend had the steak, everything was delicious!
The resuaurant was OK. We had the lunch set menu. The quality of the food was just so so. If you like the deco, come here. If you are fussy about the food, this place doesn't seem to be the right choice.
Great food & atmosphere, energy of the staff was perfect and all within a fabulous venue full of character!
Very good food, great atmosphere. Perfect Sunday brunch.
The food was mostly good but not exceptional and certainly not what I waa expecting given the high prices. The service was inconsistent and slow. Overall a miss.
Such a great evening all round! Staff were all very helpful and recommended food & drink plus the wait in between courses were perfect. Would happily go back and plan to go back very soon!
Berners Tavern was on our bucket list of places to try. Having watched the superb TV programme The Chefs Brigade headed by the incredible Jason Atherton we were very keen to be visiting one of his restaurants.
The restaurant is beautiful, the ambience superb and the service was first class.
On this occasion I chose the wrong meal but my husbands food was fantastic and this place is definitely a new found favourite of ours.
Many thanks to David Rodriguez Orallo who is the restaurant manager and an absolute credit to the establishment.
We shall return.
Fantastic service and the food was amazing. Stand out venue as well
Food was not impressive - they served us toast that was so badly burnt i initially thought it was charcoal bread. Food quality has gone down in recent years.
Good food and service. Great ambience to dining room. A bit too pricey.
Great venue and great service. The place has a fantastic vibe and atmosphere. The food was ok but did not live up to the hype - staff were excellent though. Would definitely go back but probs order a different meal.
Food, always excellent! Vibe and ambiance is one of the best I think in the city. Great for special occasions. Service is second to none. You get what you pay for despite it being a little expensive but for the full package, it’s great!
Great service but very over priced, £3000 for a bottle of wine is a little excessive!
An outstanding dining experience thanks to the most attentive, kind, and professional staff supporting a kitchen that produced exquisite food at an amazing service speed, all contained in a stunning and high class venue.
Very noisy, service a little rushed but food excellent and ambiance bustling, if a bit too loud to hear the person across the table from me.
great food, amazing ambiance and excellent service; highly recommend it!
great as always
A wonderful and quite unique place. Food and service at top level ..and architecture, design at its best. Definetely a gorgeous experience not to be missed. My to 5 restaurant in London
Fabulous food,ambience and service.
The service was amazing. We got extra, free canapes for our Afternoon Tea after we gave compliment on them. Everything is so professional there and I would definitely recommend that place. The decor is stunning and food is delicious.
Beautiful place, very good food, welcoming staff, happy vibe. Just too noisy to have a conversation.
Amazing venue, food and service. Highly recommend for a special occasion
Graduation Diner for our daughter Emma. They made a lovely desert especially for her. Thank you Brice!! 5*
Food was excellent but not memorable given the price. Restaurant was unbelievably noisy - unavoidable but just not the atmosphere we were looking for. Service was strangely over attentive - was apologised to by three different staff for our starter being late, which we weren’t even aware of. My husbands gluten intolerance was fussed over excessively by several staff despite us explaining he wasn’t allergic and would be fine in small amounts. Incredible room but overall not worth the money for us.
Really good, fun place with good food and great drinks. The room is beautiful and the service quite good.
Good food good service
Fabulous place: excellent food and elegant decoration.
Very enjoyable evening. Food and service excellent. Only let down a bit by background noise
I always look forward to going to Berners Tavern. The beautiful dining room is grand and imposing but informal and friendly. We had an early dinner so there were only a few tables on arrival but due to the scale and buzz of the service team it never has that feeling of emptiness - likewise it steadily fills up without any intrusion. I can also go there knowing that I will like virtually everything on the menu. On this occasion both our starters were particularly good - especially the pork pie, which my guest (who dines out more than he dines in) said was one of the best things he had ever had. My roasted cod main course was delicious but slightly let down by the puddle of very wet lobster sauce which dripped on every forkful, and I was a little less enamoured by the dessert choices but that didn't stop me ordering one or eating all of it. A couple of other minor niggles that stop me scoring 5 stars on individual sections but collectively you'd be hard pressed to find somewhere that ultimately does everything so consistently and reliably well.
Delightful as always
