Night before Easter Sunday. Sharing an evening out in Winston with our son. My husband and I enjoy the outdoor dining area at Bernardins not to mention the food is top notch in taste and presentation. Our waitress was spot on with her timing and attentiveness and had a very pleasing demeanor. My husband ordered the lamb, my son ordered the Cab filet. Both dishes were cooked exactly as requested. I ordered the Lobster lobster. Sweet tender meat and delicious cream sauce. All our plates were empty, hats off to the chef. Perfection all the way!
A perfect restaurant for a romantic night out. They have a young, enthusiastic waitstaff that sincerely cares about their customers, and they offer a creative menu with spot-on execution and beautiful presentation. If you've never tried emu before, I heartily recommend it. It's very much like ostrich, and should similarly be ordered no warmer than medium-rare. Ostrich and emu are red-meat fowl that look, taste and have a texture like steak, but overcooking dries it out and robs it of flavor. My wife loved her brie-stuffed chicken breast too. Bernardin's is also expert at preparing vegetables. Veggies are not overcooked or undercooked; they retain just the right level of crunchiness. We were visiting from southern California and can honestly state that Bernardin's is equivalent to some of the best restaurants we have back home.

We celebrated a very special 30th wedding anniversary and Bernadin's was the perfect place. Food was amazing.
Had a lovely dinner to celebrate birthdays. All four of us were very pleased with every aspect of our experience. Our appetizers, entrees and desserts were generous and delicious, the presentation was so nice. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive.
Menu looked amazing but in the end we found nearly everything we ordered to be just okay. We did love the tuna appetizer and enjoyed our evening out regardless, just hoped to be wowed and weren’t.

Excellent service. Our waitress was very nice and very accommodating. She didn’t mind us asking her to take good pictures of our group.
Made reservations for six of us and specifically requested a round table. I actually call the restaurant several days before to confirm a round table and I was assured there would be one. However when we got there they said they did not have a round tables at that restaurant so we were a little disappointed. It took 20 minutes to get the server to take out drink orders. I requested a bottle of wine that I had never had before just so we can each try it before dinner was served. It took quite some time to get the wine brought to the table. The food was excellent and the server was very pleasant but the whole evening was rather slow.

Great food, good service and romantic ambiance
Ambiance was great, servers were cordial, food was excellent, while we’re aware that the chef was making sure food is perfect, it took a little longer than expected. The parking was a bit of a problem as well.
Ordered filet and lobster, had to send steak back twice, only got free dessert to compensate.
The only complaint we would have is that we felt rushed through dinner. Maybe it was our fault in not asking to delay the arrival of appetizers and the main course.
We went here to celebrate Valentine's day. The appetizer of calamari exceeded our expectations. The wine selection was certainly good. Mine along with many of the steaks around us were under cooked, however it was still very tasty. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was rare. However, everything else about the meal was way above average. We will go back on a night that is not quite so busy.
Exceptional meal. I had the lobster and my wife the Chilean sea bass. Both exceptional. We are coming back
I was there for an early Valentine's Day dinner. The atmosphere was great, very cozy. Service was good attentive but not overwhelming. The food was delicious, for appetizer we had the brussel sprouts, which were excellent and some clam chowder, which was really good as well. I had the duck and my wife had the scallops, both were very good with good presentation. We both had wine with our dinner. Dessert, creme brulee and some coffee, both were good but nothing to brag about. I like my coffee strong and my creme brulee a little thicker. Overall we enjoyed our date night and will be back to try some other items on the menu.
Great venue for small business dinner meeting. We had 6 in our party in the private room upstairs. Food and service was amazing!

Bernardins has exquisite food. Everything from their starters to soups to entrees to desserts is prepared to perfection. Each meal is an inventive combination of textures and tastes, seasoned flavorfully but not too highly spiced. The variety of main courses would satisfy the adventurous (kangaroo, emu, and more) as well as the more traditional guest.
Truly elegant gourmet dining. It would be hard not to love this restaurant!

Would have been nice if restaurant had noted my reservation “special occasion” (birthday), but that didn’t happen. Food was very creative and well prepared.
Food was bland no seasoning our server was nice very attentive. Hostess unlocked the door with no greet she was on her cell phone. Crab cakes were good but kind of remoulade.
I sent my son with his girlfriend because this is my favorite place. I raised my son to tip because I served for years. My son enjoyed his meal! But the sever Tammy was a terrible server. Drinks took forever food came out Tammy never checked back on my the table. She never asked about dessert for my sons table! Just because a person is young they still deserve great service what a disappointment! His check was 60 dollars only because he wasn’t offered dessert which was the main reason for going out! That adds to the guest check average! He still tipped her 10 dollars which she didn’t deserve.
Food was very good
A very nice meal and friendly service. The escargot was not the traditional single servings with mushroom or puff pastry but rather mixed in a bowl with mushrooms and was quite delicious. It would have been nice to have some bread to soak up the juice but our bread service did not come until just before our meal. I had the kangaroo which was delicious although it seemed a little on the cool side as if it may have been sitting before being brought to the table. My wife’s meal included a side of gnocchi. She requested to leave off the cheese- and then didn’t get the gnocchi either. Despite the couple of hiccups still a nice dinner out in a quaint setting. I’d definitely return. And yes... kangaroo. That wasn’t a typo.
