Great food, great Brazilian hospitality!
Delicious, authentic Brasiliero food from several regions. We've eaten here several times and every single thing has been absurdly delicious. Speak a little Portuguese to the staff and they'll be your best friends.
Been there the first time for a farewell dinner I was impressed by the taste of every dish and the courtesy of the servers. Decided to go back for Valentine's day, and even with a fixed menu, it didn't disappoint. Most likely my favourite restaurant in the city!
The service was absolutely horrible! BEYOND HORRIBLE! We were ignored the entire time. I had to ask for water 20 minutes after arrival and 15 minutes later I asked who was even our server and could we order a drink? I noticed 45 minutes after arrival we had a drink and identified someone to be our server. If it wasn't pouring down rain at 9 p.m. on a Saturday night then I would have walked out.
The staff was distant, aloof, rude, unhelpful and clearly wanted to be with their Brazilian friends and not care about anyone else not Brazilian. We could barely get 1 drink out of them let alone have them ask how the food was, did we need anything, want more water - hey refill on the drink where you make 300 % mark up --- nahhhhh! Sh*t service and I walked 25 minutes in the rain to get there.
Food was creative and tasty - no doubt but they should turn it into a buffet where you don't depend on a human to get fed.
Wow. This place was absolutely amazing. Everything we tried was fantastic. I wish I remembered our server's name, but he was excellent. Everything he recommended we loved. We will DEFINITELY be back. The feijoada is superb.
This is a wonderful spot for authentic Brazilian food. Our server was attentive and the food was excellent as usual.
This small cosy restaurant has really good food. The national dish of Brazil and their fish stew with seafood were both terrific. I didn't think the cheese bread was as fantastic as other reviewers indicated. And the cheese and chicken croquettes were definitely not as good as the main courses were.
I have been eating at Berimbao with my wife for several years because it is my favorite restaurant in New York City. It is a cozy, neighborhood gem with welcoming, professional staff and terrific, authentic food. Everything on the varied and creative menu is excellent but I particularly love the chicken rice soup. It is a delicious, substantial meal in itself, a perfect antidote to a cold winter evening. Also, the salpicao salad, the salmao (salmon) tropical, and the shrimp strogonoff are all great. We live on the Upper East Side but gladly make the trip to the Village to eat at Berimbao. It is a truly terrific restaurant!
Service and food awesome!!!!
Authentic Brazilian cuisine in a artistically vibrant setting in the heart of NoHo. Recommended to all interested in experiencing Brazilian drinks or meal options from all corners of this huge and diverse country. Backyard seating available in summer time. Good for dates, special occasions, and friends get together. Can't go wrong.
Delicious food. Felt like home!
Not a typical Brazilian restaurant, It tastes more like a very hearty home made meal. I love it.
The food here is really good, the ambiance is too. I felt like our server did a good job of explaining the types and sizes of the different dishes. Not to mention the fact that The rest of the patrons we're Brazilian. That made me feel better about my Brazilian choice!
Loved our dinner so much, we are coming back for seconds! The Brasilian steak dinner is delish, tender flavorful and substantial. If you want an authentic Brasilian dinner in a comfortable casual atmosphere come here!
I always have a pleasant experience whenever I go to Berimbau. They are awesome with engaging my Portuguese students while they practice their Portuguese skills.
The food was very tasty. The dishes we selected were rich but fitting for a cold night. The waitresses were very nice and accomodating. Unfortunately, the maitre-d/host was less than friendly. We made a reservation via opentable and were less than 10 min late. After being asked to wait for several minutes, he came back telling us that we were more than 15 mins late and that he already gave our table away. We had to wait for another table for another 10 mins. The second thing that left an aftertaste was when we got a check, an automatic gratuity of 20% was added (the 20% was calculated on the total with tax and we were only 4 people). We were planning to leave a generous tip but being "forced" into a mandatory amount seemed quite unethical.
Great environment, great food and staff. I loved it!
Excellent service. Prices reasonable. The drinks was delicious. Had the guava capirinha. Seated us even though party wasn't all here. Would recommend this place.
Simply Amazingly Authentic! So cool! from the best food to the atmosphere, passing by the genuinely great service!!!! I LOVE IT!
Had never been to Berimbau Do Brasil before and decided to give it a try. We loved it! Food was delicious and the service was excellent!
The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and fun. The food is AMAZING... I highly recommend asking the staff for recommendations. Let them work with you and bring you something you will love.
Always a great experience from the service to the food.
As always, we really enjoyed our meal at Berimbau do Brasil! The food was wonderful, the ambiance was great, and the wait staff was attentive. These are all the reasons we keep going back!
Highly enjoyable and great atmosphere as always! A treasured West Village gem serving up superbly prepared Brazilian meat and fish favorites!
I was excited by all the rave reviews but not very impressed with the actual meal. Food was OK, but nothing special. I've eaten in many Brazilian restaurants in the US and in Brazil so I am familiar with the cuisine. Even the Caipirinha was uninspired. Service was terrific.
Based on other reviews, we gave Berimbau a try and were very pleased. We go out to eat a lot, as do our friends who dined with us, and all of us are still raving about how good the food was.
Couple that with a nice atmosphere (terrific Brazilian music in the background but not overwhelming) and friendly, relaxed service and we had a really terrific evening out.
Authentic Brazilian food in a very comfortable setting with nice Brazilian music playing. Get your gringo friends and introduce them to this amazing piece of world's cuisine!
I loved. Cozy restaurant with brazilian music, kind service and great options in drink and food. We had a wonderful experience with the brazilian cuisine.
As a Brazilian, I attest to the authenticity and quality of the Brazilian dishes in this restaurant. Excellent food, welcoming and kind staff, definitely coming back.
My boyfriend and I tried all the Brazilian restaurants in NYC and we simply fell in love with Berimbau. They have *the real* Brazilian food for a fair price. Their menu is great and even the vegetarian stroganoff rocks ! Their caipirinhas are also the best ! We love this place .
