   My Open Table reservation made July 11th was for the Carroll Gardens location. The restaurant has moved to Cooper Square in Manhattan. I called them the night before we dined and they were able to accommodate our party of 4 @ 6:30, which was lucky, since it is a very small space (they had no record of the Open Table reservation). The food is small plates for sharing; all seafood. We started with a burrata/veggie/toast dish followed by a lobster toast dish. We enjoyed tuna, hamachi, black sea bass (delicious smoky flavor), spring salad, and finished with an octopus and faro dish. Black sea bass and octopus were our favorites, but every dish was outstanding. Four of us shared the olive cake for dessert with strawberry compote - the only dessert offered, but it was delicious. Outstanding meal start to finish. Returning in September with guests visiting from England. Can't wait.

   Was able to catch Bergen Hill the week before they closed up their Brooklyn location. Every single dish we got was amazing, but the Hamachi with White Soy Ponzu was out of this world. Really great vibe in this small space. A friend told me this was his favorite place in Brooklyn - he wasn't wrong!

   The standout dish was a squid pasta. Not pasta with squid. Pasta MADE OUT of squid. It was mindblowing.

   Bergen Hill has quickly become our favorite neighborhood spot. We live a mile away, and it has beat out some stiff competition from several other great local spots. We've been a few times, and every dish, every time, has been exquisite. It's reasonably quiet, and great for couples or small groups. Very intimate.

   Went for a date night. Ordered the brussel sprouts, carrots, salmon toast, cauliflower toast, lobster, and octopus. Everything was great, the octopus was exceptional. Service was fine, nothing to write home about.

   What a great find. Small location with excellent food and service. The small /shared plates experience allowed us to try a good portion of their menu. Recommend the Octopus, hen of the woods, and cauliflower toast

    Good food with Thimble size wine pours and harried wait staff suggest bad guest-employee relations. Generosity is missing here and it impacts the flavor!
