Bergamot is a family favorite for an elegant dinner. I love the excellent preparation, service and delicious food. The wine selection is wonderful--we had a yummy, jammy Cab Franc that I won't soon forget. Usually, the dessert is so inventive but this time the chiffon cake was kind of a disappointment. We will be back again and again.
Third time at Bergamot. Food a little overpriced and serving size on the small side. Good beet salad but not much of it for the price. Entrees OK (trout and steak) but expensive for the content. Server was great. Very attentive.
Service was very accommodating and food was delicious.
We discovered Bergamot several weeks ago and it immediately became our favorite local restaurant for special occasions. In fact, we're thinking of inventing new special occasions to give us more excuses to go there. The food is fabulous. The staff is lovely. We love it.
Very attentive and friendly staff. Food was excellent
Overpriced food; the mushroom toast was literally a piece of whole wheat sandwich bread and they charged $28! The cocktails were delicious and the appetizers were decent.
Great food, exotic drinks, fantastic bread. Just a very limited menu of items prepared perfectly.
Great menu, service, ambience. Loved it
Service was excellent. Love the fact that Bergamot honors ingredients. Small menu sure but that is just because they source purposefully with care. Swordfish was delicious. Dessert perfecto and the best coffee (not to mention the wine and beer)!! A quality meal all around. Thank you.
Bergamot is an extremely pleasant place to have dinner with friends. Friendly ambiance with B+ service. My concern is that the offerings are so few. Stronger appetizers, but very limited choices on main course, salads, desserts. Great bread from Iggies. The service was pleasant, but disjointed.
Excellent. What a wonderful way to end graduation weekend.
Our waiter is not helpful at all or has very limited knowledge of food and drinks. Not to take effort to help us to choose.
Dear Leeann, I appreciate your feedback and I am disappointed to hear your experience did not meet the standards we strive for. Thank you very much for your feedback. I hope you will give us another chance in the future. Tanja Sennick Manager
We enjoyed the appetizers and main course. The chosen wine was based on recommendations, and that white certainly met my desire. Desserts were less than we expected.
We continue to be impressed with how superlative Bergamot is. Friendly, yet professional service. Sophisticated yet not fussy food. Truly delicious! White linen without feeling stuffy. Amazing cocktails and a serious wine list. Parking! The more we think about it, the happier we are that this restaurant is a thing.
Delicious! Such love and care into each dish
Though the restaurant describes itself as combining the love of great food, wine and friends, I would not describe the food as great. I started with the artichoke soup, which was the best thing we ate that night. The only offering of beef was skirt steak, my husband's risotto starter was bland, undercooked and didn't have that much lobster meat, his portion of swordfish was minuscule, and the pound cake was extremely dry. What's more, it took at least 10 minutes for the wait staff to come to our table, we were served our cocktails after our starters, and never given bread. The menu is extremely limited and the prices are pretty steep for what you receive.
We love Bergamot, have enjoyed dinners there with various friends, and would enthusiastically recommend Bergamot to other friends! The service and staff are always outstanding -- friendly, well informed and generally terrific! One recent event merits comment: we were having a very happy dinner at Bergamot with two friends, but one of our friends found the steak he had ordered much tougher than he had expected. None of us are people who are comfortable sending food back... so it was with much embarrassment that we called over our waiter. Hearing our friend's discomfort with the steak, our waiter instantly and without protest took it back and offered a replacement. My friend ordered a second appetizer to replace the entree-steak, and he was delighted with the Burrata appetizer. When we got the tab at the end of a VERY pleasant evening, the unfortunate steak was crossed off the bill and there was no charge at all for the extra appetizer that replaced it. That, to me, the the sign of an intelligent, conscientious restaurant that truly values its customers. We look forward to returning to Bergamot.... often, I hope!
One of my guests is deaf blind and they were very accommodating.
Since moving to Cambridge, I have found Bergamot to be my favorite restaurant. The food is cosistently good, the wait staff personable and accommodating, and best of all it is quiet enough to carry on a conversation.
Bergamot is a special restaurant that has differing menu offerings depending on what they can get each day/week from their sources. So everything is very fresh, unique and delicious. We shared an appetizer of a crispy potato dish with a romanesco ( sp.?) sauce which was so delicious we didn't think our entrees could surpass it but they did. My husband had raviolis filled with sun chokes in a beautiful green sauce that was plate licking good (we didn't do it but were tempted). I had the steak with green beans but it was so much more than just meat & vegetables. The flat iron steak was marinated and grilled and the green beans cut up small with tasty mushrooms and in a light sauce that complimented both the steak and the vegetables -- something like a chimchurri sauce. We didn't stop there -- coffee and dessert -- vanilla pound cake with a champagne sauce and macerated berries. Also plate licking good.
We enjoyed our dinner at the Bergamot restaurant. The food was excellent. There was plenty of parking in the adjacent parking lot and the atmosphere was pleasant. Our waiter was a bit quirky but overall we received the service we were looking for.
The quality of the food was inconsistent, some delicious, while other dishes just ok, to salty and not much flavor. Service was also inconsistent, took forever to bring wine, and the white was not cold, they made excuses and clearly they had tried to do a "quick chill", should have fessed up and recommended an other option. Sadly that dampened our whole experience, not sure if I can recommend it to a friend.

Very warm welcome upon entrance. Sat us immediately. Great location. Low volume, so you don’t have to yell to be heard by your party. They even assisted with our UBER at the end. Will go again!
Thank you for dining with us. I enjoyed hearing about your experience and I am pleased to hear you enjoyed your dinner last night. I look forward to welcoming you back soon. Cheers, Tanja Sennick Bergamot, Manager
The food was visually pleasing and delicious. The service was outstanding.
Dear Eric, I'm glad to hear you had a great experience with us. Thank you very much for your input. I will share your kind words with our team. We're looking forward to welcome you back. Cheers, Tanja Sennick Bergamot Manager
Great food and some of the best service (waitress: Jennifer) and hostess that I've experienced in a Boston area restaurant.
I'm happy to hear you had a great experience with us. I will share your kind words with our team. Thank you very much and I'm looking forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Tanja Sennick Bergamot Manager
Our first time there. Would definitely go back. Food and service were both excellent!
Dear Mike, Thank you for your kind words. I will share them with our team. Looking forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Cheers, Tanja Sennick Bergamot Manager
Amazing food, amazing staff, beautiful experience
I'm glad to hear you had a great experience with us. Hope we will see you again soon. Thank you for your thoughtful review. Cheers, Tanja Sennick Bergamot Manager
We asked for Bergamot's special anniversary five-course menu. It was extraordinary from start to finish. Selection, preparation and presentation of dishes were all sublime. My dry cocktail was perfect as a palate cleanser! Not something usually associated with cocktails! Foodies, review the menu on-line! Then make a "bee-line" for Bergamot!
Great food, lethargic service
We returned to this nice spot, bringing friends, and I was quite embarrassed. I had to ask repeatedly for a wine list, we waited a VERY long for food, and even longer to get the attention of the waiter. Perhaps they were short staffed, or perhaps it was in part due to a party of 22 (!) that they accommodated on a Saturday night (perhaps a third of their total capacity? should not have allowed that without extra staff on, IMO) - neither of those possible excuses are my problem, management and staff performed poorly and we won't rush back.
A wonderful combination of extravagance and exploration, Bergamot came both highly recommended and highly anticipated. A quiet Tuesday night turned into a fun cultural expose as two of my close friends and I were treated to some of the most delightful apps and desserts I've come to experience. It was a few weeks back and I wish I had more details. The server was tall, fair, and maintained a wealth of knowledge on liquors, wines, cheeses, appropriate pairings, flavors, and a few much appreciated lighthearted comments. His knowledge and confidence were delightful additions to a wonderful meal.
Which brings me to the food! Oh my. We had a wonderful risotto that's flavor was only matched by its consistency and both were exemplary at that. The open kitchen had a wonderful way of including us in the experience and gave a semblance of a private catered event, especially as the evening crowd tapered out and left just us. The salad was a joyous combination of a light, bright vinegarette paired with a salty savory taste of pork, and although I can't remember the exact preparation, it was absolutely brilliant.
We splurged on dessert and tried every one and the plating was so diverse and delightful, we were loathe to dig in, but only until after a few pictures were taken :) I won't spoil the surprise for dessert, but the party favorite had to be Riz au Lait. What a night, what an event, what service. I'll be back, Bergamot, if only to find a sweet remembrance of a wonderful memory with great friends.
The food was delicious. As a Spaniard, I am used to use tablecloths. When I see it in a restaurant here in US I know it will be better than others.
This place used to be great. It is now not worth your time or money. The food was disappointing, the presentation was lacking, the wine list was uninspired, the service was mediocre. We felt robbed when we left. So sad to see a great place go down the tubes. I will never go back.
We all loved everything. My only complaint was that we were one of the first tables of the night and the rest room was a little dirty. But we had a ball and will return.
Restaurant has really gone downhill. Service was awful. Wait staff was nowhere to be found. Appetizers took 20 minutes to arrive and entrees took 25 minutes and were cold. Place was only 50% capacity as early so no excuse. Music was too loud.
Wonderful!! Did the 5 course chef’s tasting and it was amazing.
I know that Bergamot has had a good reputation, which is a key reason I brought colleagues and a job applicant there for an important dinner. However, it was a disappointing experience. The service was not welcoming and the food was just so-so for the price. It might have been a bad day for the people working there, but the waiter was not welcoming and it was hard to understand the person taking our order. We all had the hallibut, which was delicious, but the sauce (as well as the appetizers) just didn't impress. The fresh bread and butter-of-the-day were excellent. Unfortunately, the restaurant was chosen to impress our guest, which it did not.
We've decided that Bergamot is going to be our place to go whenever we have the urge to go out for a really great meal. The food is fabulous. Our waiter was lovely. It was perfect.
We had dinner with our two sons and a friend. The appetizers were delicious. I had the Kale Brussels salad, my husband had the roasted beets, and one son had the risotto. All were delicious! Two of us had the pork chops, one had the halibut, and two had the short ribs. We were all very pleased with our selections! And desserts were great, too. Highly recommend this restaurant. The service was wonderful, as well.
Food and ambiance was fantastic. We went in on a whim for dine out Boston and were seated right away. Front staff and service was great. Our biggest complaint is with the kitchen staff and wait times for our meals. We both thought we waited just a bit too long to be served our appetizers, entree and dessert. Would recommend going with big parties with lots of conversation who want to be waited on hand and foot but don’t mind waiting. A three course meal taking 2+ hours was just too long
We went for Dine Out Boston. The food was excellent and the ambiance was nice. Highly recommend!
