Benvenutos - Middleton
Made a reservation for lunch for restaurant week. No employees upon arrival in receptiom or bar area. Seated after about ten minutes. Never received confirmation we were checked in to Open Table - asked repeatedly - clearly a language barrier existed. Appetizers were fair. Main entree of steak was overcooked and extremely salty: mashed potato had large unmashed portion in middle. Dessert was underwhelming. Asked again about check in to Open Table and clear employee didnt comprehend. Will not return.
Good food. No issues
Made an online reservation and received a confirmation but they did not have my reservation when we arrived. Since they were not busy that evening it was not a problem!
The vegetable pizza was excellent! The service an waitress was very friendly and attentive!!
Our service was beyond bad. 2 hours to wait for marginal food. The waitress never cleared our table from the first bad salad course to the entree we waited for for 2 hours. Manager had to come out to help. Disaster
Our server would disappear for long periods of time. So much so that other staff would come over and ask if we needed anything. Restaurant wasn’t that busy I don’t know where she kept going. She admitted she normally works breakfast which is a help yourself buffet. The food was delicious as always we’ve been here many times. We were there for Mother’s Day.
We took mom for her 60th birthday and we’re very well attended to by our waitress. A little surprised it was attached to a hotel but that’s on me. The food was decent, a little heavy-handed in the marinara, but the bruschetta was delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed the Benvenutos pizza and bottomless mimosas (Sunday brunch). We’ll likely try the other Benvenutos locations in the future.
Delicious chicken tettrazini. Generous portion. , salad and bread included. Generous wine decanter. Great dinner in quiet atmosphere.
I just find the food here so mediocre. Our server, Sky, was great.
I'm generous and it wasn't awful. a nice "fancy" place for a cheap price
Our visit was on Valentines Day. Nice menu with vegetarian and healthy options, reasonably priced. Music set a romantic tone. The host and manager were delightful, but our server was dismissive once we ordered water only to drink. While the server to the adjacent tables was friendly and made sure guests got water and drink refills, we received none. Our orders included ribeye and chicken picatta — both were very good, and the brussel sprouts were awesome. We got dessert “to-go,”: cheesecake (good) and molten lava brownie (incredibly decadent). Would recommend and will visit again.
Service was not very attentive, nor was it very well trained. We waited longer than normal for a wait person. Bread was brought to the table, but I had to ask for bread plates.
It was good, however the ribeye steak that I had was on the tougher side. Made better steaks at home the week before
The menu items we ordered were both excellent, although we don't need portions quite that large. The wine selection is good, as is the ambiance, service and overall noise level. Overall value is constrained by some pricey items.
It had been a couple of years since we had been to this location. We thought it would be a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day, and I wish we would’ve chosen someplace else.
They took my favorite entree off of their menu, and when I asked the server about it, she said they keep changing the menu. Who takes a tenderloin off of the menu? That would not be my first choice to take off.
We both chose a chicken and mushroom dish. Nothing about it said $16 dish. Good grilled chicken, but I can also cook a good grilled chicken. The mushrooms and “gravy” were so bland. I could barely even eat the garlic mashed potatoes because it had WAY too much butter and garlic. I didn’t know that was possible!
I actually left hungry. Next time we will invest in another restaurant.
We waited forever on the food. I received my steak w/o a steak knife. Two side salads were missing, etc.
They “didn’t have” the reservation I made for my daughter’s homecoming group of 15 people when they arrived tonight. Upsetting because I received an email this week confirming it, and I also called on Thursday to confirm again because I didn’t want them to run into this! When I called the restaurant to see what the problem was, the manager said I must have made the reservation at a different location—no I didn’t! She wasn’t listening to me and offered no apology for the confusion. At least the kids were able to be seated. Not sure if it’s the restaurant or Open Table that had the problem, but unnecessary frustration.
The entrees were mostly traditional Italian and well done. Mine was the lobster ravioli special in a limoncello sauce and it was exceptionally good. The other entrees in our party were good but not exceptional. Great service. I would go back if I was in the area.
Overall our experience was meh. First, our reservations were confirmed by Open Table, but the restaurant said they didn’t have it. Luckily, they could seat us without any problem. The server was very nice but didn’t know the details of the special (a Friday night fish fry) and ordering got a bit confusing for some reason. After she took our orders, she came back to us with the details about the special. We appreciated that. Some of us enjoyed our food (lasagna, lake perch, spaghetti with meatballs, and zucchini pasta were ok or good), others were disappointed (margarita pizza - without any sauce or oil on the crust, but just crust, tomato and cheese). When the various servers came to the table with our food, we had to tell each server who was having what. So, all in all it was ok, nothing special. Could be much better.
We had a large group of people and it was handled very well.
My dish was not great (seafood canaloni) but other dishes were good.
The food was good but our waiter seemed inexperienced. He asked us if we wanted bread, we said yes and he forgot to bring it. Wasn't very attentive to checking up on us etc.
It took 20 minutes for our server to appear, but once there she did a good job. The food seemed overly salty. Concerned that you have romaine lettuce while there is an eColi outbreak related to romaine (how can you be positive it is not from the affected area?). Nice that you have calorie counts on the menu, sure opened my eyes.
We had a reservation for 13, the day before I was called to see if we minded moving into a larger room. I said that's great, but I didn't realize that meant we were going into a very bland banquet type room with other large tables. Our server did her best but was very short handed, so everything was slow. Just getting our drinks was 30 minutes- think there may have only been 1 bartender. The food was OK-I can't believe the pasta was homemade as it states on the website? I was also disappointed that the interior pictures shown are not from this location! So if you think it looks really cute-it doesn't inside. That location must be Madison, not Middleton. We were celebrating our daughter's college graduation so it was all a bit disappointing to us.
We went to Benvenuto's to celebrate our anniversary. In the past we've been fans of Benvenuto's restaurant but have never been to the Middleton Wisconsin location. We made a reservation showed up 5 minutes before our reservation and we're seated immediately. That's when it went downhill. We sat at our table for at least 10 minutes prior to anyone even asking us what we wanted to drink. There was a plate left on the table that had herbs for the oil and Herb dip for the bread that was there I believe from the people that ate there before us. And this was never removed or changed out even when brought to the attention of the wait staff. We finally had a waitress asked us if somebody had helped us and we said no so she took our order for drinks and then asked us incredulously if we wanted the bread that went with the table. Our drinks were brought to the table my wife had ordered a raspberry lemonade when it reached the table it was completely undrinkable. The waitress came to the table we mentioned it and the drink was remade and it was better. At this point there was another waitress that got involved and the service didn't get any better. We ordered our dinner entrees That were supposed to come with a salad. We were eating our appetizer when they brought our entrees out never did they bring the salad out. I brought this to the waitresses attention she was apologetic but it was never offered to be fixed. As we were eating our dinner nobody came back to check in to see how are meal was or to refill our drink glasses. It was at this point that I asked to speak with a manager. The manager came out and we explain to him what happened he was apologetic and offered us one of our entrees for free and a free dessert more than I was looking for at that point in time. But when the bill came the discount was not even for an entree and we had to wait forever for the check. I would not recommend Benvenuto's of Middleton until they are able to get their act together.
Food was ok at the best, drinks mediocre but service was terrible. We had a very inexperienced waitress where she would bring two drinks and forget the third or brought one meal and the other came 20 minutes later. I was sharing a meal with one friend. It came with a salad and a side. She brought one salad, so we thought since we are sharing, that was it. While we were almost done with it, she came back with two morw salads. Wouldn’t recommend. Go next door to Biaggies if you are looking for good food and service
Couldn’t recommend it after our experience. Made the reservation on line.
When we got there they didn’t have the table ready as they told us there was no reservation.
There was just one server, who we wondered if he was the cook also as the service was
Terrible. Only saw two other people in the restaurant. Have the rewards card but did nit bother as I am sure it could be sometime before we bring friend there again. We had been there several times before and have never been disappointed.
Food and service were wonderful. Everything is made from scratch and you can tell. Will definitely come back.
The food was very good. Service was reasonably good. Nice ambiance. Quiet. Far West location. I would come back again.
We have eaten at this Benvenuto's many times and this was a little disappointing. We were there for a special occasion and we were a little disappointed with the service. Our waitress was not very good and we had to continue to request things that were forgotten. The food was very good. We are hoping this was a fluke as the food will bring us back.
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We were given a quiet spot and the server was very polite and helpful. The food was delicious.
My friend had the Manicotti and loved it. Plenty for not only dinner, but to bring home and have for one or two meals. I had the Chicken Parmigiana and it was wonderful. Was at least another full meal at home! Wine selection was good and we went on a Monday, so the 1/2 price wine bottle special was on and we had the Wollersheim White Reisling, which was very good. Service was very good as well, and we found room to have dessert, the Salted Caramel Brownie A la Mode which was delicious. Needless to say, we walked out of there stuffed. I highly recommend Benvenutos and will personally be back again!
The food was average. We had great service because there were few customers. The waitress was wonderful and took a photo of our group at the end of the meal.
Very enjoyable experience. Attentive service, great menu choices and quiet atmosphere for business conversation. Will return!
Not impressed with food or service. Will not be going back.
Service was slow. Food was just alright. The pizza we got the night before was awesome though!
'We had a small group for a graduation celebration. The staff was friendly and efficient. The food was very good and the drinks reasonable. We had a great dinner and celebration.
Great food & good service! Large portions...we came home with lots of leftovers!
Ended taking our oldest daughter out for dinner and had great experience & food.
