Bentley's Oyster Bar & Grill
Offered the chance to restore Bentley’s to its former glory when it came up for sale in 2005, Chef Richard Corrigan embraced the challenge. Once again opening its doors to great critical acclaim serving oysters, fish and seafood in much the same way it has since 1916. Linen-clad tables, a wooden floor and Richard’s art collection adorn the walls creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Bentley's Oyster Bar and Grill also has two beautiful private dining rooms. The Crustacea seats up to 14 and the Swallow Street Rooms, with it's own private bar and street entrance, seats up to 60.

Like going back in time. Intimate venue. Nice food Quite expensive.
Great food - great ambiance
Let down a little by a young Chineese man in training shoes and a baseball cap on the next table. “Smart casual”?
I tipped £80 - enough said...
Delicious and interesting menu and wine with great service. Will return.
Great place to dine, staff were lovely, welcoming and accommodating. Told them we had to go to the Theatre, however, preferred the a la carte menu, so the staff ensured that we got our food on time, without compromising the taste. Would definitely recommend.
Great service, lovely servers. Very happy. Thank you.
Great venue with attentive staff. The food and wine was fantastic. Well worth the visit.
The place is superb, the food has a modern touch, which makes it better than (for example) J Sheekey.
Lovely meal and fantastic service - would highly recommend
Always a pleasant surprise, a wonderful atmosphere and very attentive staff. The food is also top quality
Overpriced, and not good enough for tjis level of price
Great restaurant. Small tight seating an the price was the only downfall. The service was amazing and the food was also on point. The lobster bisque is to die for. If your not worried about price this is the restaurant for you. Dover sole and the lobster spaghetti were both great choices. Honestly, can’t say enough about our server. She was fantastic and I’m sorry I forgot her name.
We were assigned a table on ground floor even we have booked the restaurant weeks ago. The seat is not spacious enough and I think it should not be happened in such a gourmet restaurant.
Food is averaging good but the oysters are not top fresh. Bread and soup are soso too.
We visited for dinner before seeing a show and the food was wonderful!!
Best fish pie ever
As always the food was excellent and the service impeccable. Only problem was OpenTable insisting that we could only have a table if we arrived at 11.30. We were sent away to shop some more and returned at 1230 to a comfortable table. Phone and adjust your dinner time!
The service was the main reason why the restaurant has such a low overall waiting. The servers were not friendly and was mildly condescending. Their speed was at their own leisure. We waited 30 minutes before they brought the menus to us, and another 30 minutes for them to bring us the three bottles of wine we ordered. Very disappointing.
Great food and excellent service. Would definitely return!
The food I had was outstanding
Beautiful monk fish curry
Beautiful fish and chips
Good fish pie.
We lived it and will come back
Wonderful food and excellent service. We sat downstairs, by the oyster bar, which is our favourite part of the restaurant. Amazing, as always.
Pleasant staff when they were waved at so we could order. Food disappointing and so seemed expensive. . Seems like Bentleys is trading on its past glory. First and last visit.
One of my favourite restaurants in London and did not disappoint. The food was absolutely superb as always and we were very well looked after by the staff. Excellent wine list with plenty of choice.
Great location. Service wasn’t as good as previous visits. Got one order wrong.
Would go back
Great service and super knowledgeable staff. Consistent and unpretentious. A lovely treat just before Christmas.
Sorry to write a poor review but the big disappointment was to be seated in a long line of tables for 2 about 6 inches apart. Conversations can be heard and overheard. When shown to the restrooms, there was a section of booths completely empty by the bar, that would have been perfect. So please, position tables a respectful distance apart and if going, ask for a booth. The oysters were delicious but we bailed ASAP and went next door to Gauchos I’m afraid. Hope this is useful feedback.
Superb variety of seafood. Good range of wines to complement the offerings. Service is very attentive and friendly. Only nick is they put us at a subpar table near the service when there were many tables available.
Completely overpriced with service that makes you feel like western with prices from Mayfair.
First impressions didn’t help: three people in charge of coats and getting people sitting and two of them speaking in Russian obviously commenting on some clients. Shocking...
The waiter that helped has had very good recommendations and was very attentive; I’d highly recommend him. All his helpers and people around were particularly useless, from pouring warm liquid over the table to the barman even sneezing like my grandfather used to when no one was looking. Quite disgusting.
I will make sure not to go back again.
I was very disappointed that my prawns had not been properly cleaned and I had to remove the black veins myself.
Seriously this place is so lovely!
The food was exquisite and cooked to perfection
Would be a really great date spot
I have visited this restaurant twice. On this occasion it was for a business lunch with a colleague. I had a drink at the bar whilst I waited for my friend to arrive. The bar man did not know what a Fino sherry was and had to ask a colleague who told him that it was a Manzanilla (which is different). I did not want a fuss so said the Manzanilla was fine. The sherry when it eventually came was very good and served at a chilled temperature as it should be. The bar staff seems to be at odds with each other discussing staff rotas which I thought I was inappropriate in front of customers. The other bar man I noticed also failed to serve a lady who was sat at the bar and then served a gentleman who arrived after her. Overall whilst the drink I had was good I was unimpressed by the bar staff.
When I was ready for lunch I had to find someone to take me and my guest upstairs for lunch. Lunch was excellent. I had the smoked eel which I would recommend along with the turbot. I also chose a white Burgundy which was also excellent and served at the correct temperature. My friend asked the waitress about whether the sea food pie was available as the Royal sea food pie. She was a little dismissive towards him in my opinion telling him that it had not been on the menu for many years. The sea food pie that arrived was very good.
We did not have time for dessert and had coffees which took a long while to arrive and then arrived twice. Overall I think the cooking in this restaurant is very good. The upstairs restaurant is a very pleasant place. There is quite a mix of customers which might not suit a business lunch e.g. Chinese tourists sat on their mobile telephones but I accept the restaurant cannot do much about this. My criticism is really about the indifferent service both at the bar and during lunch. I expected a higher level of service. I do like this restaurant but I do not think I would return preferring Scott's to here.
Great ambiance, upstairs area is very cosy yet spacious, delicious food, the fish pie is my favorite, and all of this comes with great service!
Good food, great atmosphere. Reasonably priced wine, very good food quality
Excellent all round dining experience as always.
Fantastic historic restaurant with the best seafood in London, friendly and attentive staff and a wonderful atmosphere.
Welcoming from the front door and throughout the meal.
Alex was knowledgable and helpful while allowing us our privacy.
The food was extremely well presented and cooked to perfection.
Alex was very helpful with wine selection and the meal was perfectly balanced.
We both felt well fed but that we had eaten lightly
Great service y great product. A place to go if you want to have the best oysters in town
My only complaint is that on arrival nobody asked for my name nor whether I had a reservation. I was later accused of being a no show.
Other than that, the food and service were excellent, the wine list is extensive and good , would definitely come back.
Fantastic food, service and wine, would highly recommend
Despite booking weeks in advance got a poor and draughty table., which was also embarrassing for me with a good client Otherwise good
I had a wonderful time, service was good and food was great. I ordered the seafood platter, just to note, they did change the menu every once in a while, so if you are going back for your favorite dish, just call and check
Excellent overall, would definitely return again.
Staff were very good.
