This place was amazing. I let them know ahead of time that it was for my wife’s graduation dinner. When we got there they were so happy and congratulating her. Throughout the night the other waitresses were talking to each other and all through the night. New ones would say congratulations and you’re the girl who graduated right??? It felt so good. The fire pits they have you can sit next too are a beautiful part of the restaurant. The way it was so beautiful and classy. But you can be laid back. They have a great huge wine collection. A great place to just go and have a nice glass of wine. The steak was to die for. So perfectly cooked and the rest of the meal was amazing. No one had anything bad to say. The prices were great and reasonable for everyone :) it’s a great place for anything you’re going there for and it’s a block from the waterfront and from other hot spots in Salem. Garage parking right next to it as well.
Eight of us dined at Bentley's on Easter. We had reservations and were quickly seated. Special requests were quickly accommodated. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. All the dinners arrived hot and delicious. We will be back.
My dinner mates had the fish special and found it very good. I had the pork loin special and the flavors were marvelous. However, the pork was dry and that took away from what could have been a 4 star plate.
The food was great and service even better!
Loved Bentley and Grand Hotel. This was my first visit to Salem area and I really enjoyed the area.
We were VERY pleased with this find! Completely worth the drive. Food was amazing, service was fun and friendly (thanks Jace), and the atmosphere was perfect for our romantic anniversary dinner date.
Did I mention the absolutely amazing food?!?! To die for!
We would very much recommend Bentleys to everyone we know. We look forward to visiting again in the future.
We loved it. The butternut squash ravioli was amazing!
Their filet mignon is usually very good, but they way overcooked it this time. Medium well isn't the easiest temperature for most restaurants, I know. But when it's way overcooked, no one wants to sit around and wait another 30-45 minutes while your date eats his meal.
So I got halfway through it and couldn't eat any more because it became too dry and tough. I explained this to the waitress, and she was like, "Yeah, it's just too tough, huh?" But instead of taking it off the bill, they bought us a dessert that we didn't even really want. And the manager never came over, which is what usually happens in a decent restaurant when they've fallen short. $36 wasted.
They were very accommodating with my gluten allergy, which is nice. And the spicy peel & eat prawns were modified by using white wine instead of beer, and they were really amazing.
The service was pleasant but EXTREMELY slow for some reason (and not just the overcooked steak). And the restaurant was dead. We were there so long, we missed our movie. Took about a half hour just to get a second drink. I think the whole meal took us two hours.
We had very good service. Someone was helping our server and brought out dinner one plate was wrong...belonged to the table next to us. Oops. When our dinner came it was good. I learned quail is better left running around in the wild. Stuffing was good and it seemed like it was cooked properly but I had to give up trying to eat the breast meat because of the rib bones. I couldn't separate the meat from the bones and got tired of biting into them. No blame on Bentleys just a learning experience.
My wife and I stopped in on our Drive from Eugene to Portland. What a great surprise. The foot was excellent especially the Mary's Chicken and the Peel and eat shrimp appetizer. It was relaxing and the waitress and other staff were very friendly. If you are in the area you must go to this restaurant. Nice bar and good mixed drinks with an indoor firepit for lounging.
We were very disappointed to see that our favorite anniversary menu item (seared ahi) was taken off of the menu. However, we thought that it was an opportunity to sample other offerings. We ordered 3 appetizers that we had not yet tried. The first appetizer, crab cakes, was wonderful and a true delight to sample. The following two appetizers, however, were monumental disappointments which left bad tastes in our mouths (both literally and figuratively). The prawn dish was perhaps the worst preparation of that shellfish we had ever sampled, and the calamari was entirely bland and forgettable. We still tried to enjoy our experience, despite the two poor appetizers, and hope to return once the sting of that experience fades.
Amazing dining experience as always! Thank you for the awesome service and delicious food.
Such a beautiful restaurant with an amazing atsmephere. This is the perfect spot for a date, out waitress Katie was super friendly as well and had a great attitude. We will be returning soon 😊
This is my favorite spot for dinner! The food is ALWAYS good, prices are decent, full bar, seasonal menu items. Great service by a friendly staff can always be counted on! Try this place!
We loved the food even though it was a little spendy for. Us. We enjoyed a nice intimTe diner until a large party was seated beside us including 3 small children and 2 babies. The babies cried off and on while the family took pics of the kids. We have kids of our own and understand that Bentleys is family friendly but when we are out on a date we would rather not have to listen to crying. Next time we will consider sitting in the lounge, Our waitress was very nice and even though it was busy our food came quickly and was perfectly cooked.
Ambiance and our Waitress were both excellent. The quality of the food was also excellent. We were there for Valentines dinner, and it took an hour for our food to be served to us. I made the reservation later to avoid the rush, but that didn't seem to help with timeliness. Our Waitress checked up on us regularly and gave us a free dessert due to the delay which was very nice. Lastly, I ordered the Salmon, that was excellently prepared, but the portion was quite small for the price. We live in the Northwest, and I don't expect us to skimp on Salmon out of season or not at $30/plate.
Was hoping that you would put Rib Eye Steaks back on the menu
The service was great, the food was amazing... just the wait between appetizers to dinner was a bit long for my liking. But, overall, it was great
The wait was long due to holiday. Our waitress was great.
Went to Bentley's for Valentine's Day dinner and enjoyed the specials menu that we both ordered off of. We enjoyed a nice romantic evening with great food and service!
Love this place. Is my go to place! I take my closest friends here for a special lunch. Is a great place for a nice professional lunch as well.
I go to Bentley's every time I stay in Salem. It has great food with moderate prices and a nice wine list. When I go with friends, etc. it is a good place to eat while still being able to have a conversation! The service is always good as well.
They are the best steak I have found in the city. I go there each time I'm in town
Always a great place to go. It would be nice to see a change in the menu.
Best restaurant in Salem, hands down. Service & food were superb they really go out of their way to ensure a good experience.
We appreciated the fact that the host/hostess was able to accommodate 6 people when we had only made the reservation for 2! Our table was excellent and slightly out-of-the-way from the main dining crowd. The service was outstanding and timely. Highly recommended for any special occasion
This was our first time, we really liked the food & the ambiance.
Excellent food, very friendly and helpful staff - even made us a special cocktail (not on their menu) to celebrate a special event for us. Prices reasonable for an upscale dining experience, also a discount for those staying at the Grand Hotel.
Waitress was very polite and provided great service. Food was good and overall experience was great.
Nice atmosphere, ok food, limited menu. The calamari is terrible. The workshop was ok. The chocolate marquee was delicious. Seems like this place is kind of overrated honestly.
Simply amazing. Katie, our server was outstanding. Very helpful. We loved our meals. It’s very affordable but still have a great atmosphere. We will be back soon.
Great New Year’s Eve place for dinner. Food, service, everything was great!
We like to dine here on New Year’s Eve. The food and service is always tops and the seating is not crowded. The parking garage is very convenient on cold evenings!
We also enjoy lunch here occasionally.
I thought the whole evening was wonderful. The waitress acomadating. Thought the wine pour was small but very tasty.
I was up from California for the Holiday visiting family.
Happy New Year
Wonderful food, ambience, and wine selection. We are appreciative of our waitress(Judy) who is consistently outstanding. We always hope she will be our waitress, when we go there!
It is our "dress up" place to meet friends and family.
The ambience and decor are excellent and we enjoyed friendly, prompt service. Seafood chowder is delicious. The main courses, however, were on the bland side for this price point. The food isn’t cutting edge in any way, the Dijon sauce on the chicken wasn’t very flavorful, and the cioppino lacked zip. It’s a nice place with tons of potential, but the entree menu needs to be kicked up a notch.
We have to travel on the holidays and we love having a place to stay that has a restaurant on site that makes us feel special because of the season.
Went here for a family dinner and the service was great. Food was decent overall; just not spectacular. Prime rib was well seasoned and a good cut. Another had chicken and said it was over cooked. We eat here every year and they were busy so this could have been an off night. We will go back because the restaurant is a great night out with family and like I said the service was great.
Disappointed with the food. Dry chicken and interesting salad dressings.
