This place has sole! The sole with the pecan crust was amazing. The disappointment was that although it was early in the evening they had already run out of the puff pastry for oysters and just gave it to us in a dish. We send it back. Maybe the oysters were bad! But we will go back.
Possibly the most reliable good hotel restaurant around. Never disappoints the choice and affordable.

For the past 2 years my husband and I have been coming here for my birthday. I always have enjoyed the food and the ambiance. I have always been able to hear my husband talk and the service has always been outstanding. We have always been treated like a regular customer. They even made accommodations for my husband who uses a walker. I plan to continue to spend my birthdays here and other times too. Thank you.

It had been a very long since we had been to Bentley's, and that time was not a memorable experience. This time, however, was entirely an entirely memorable experience. My wife Monica was raised in Seattle, and is very particular about seafood presentations. For starters she ordered the crab cakes, and I ordered the sizzling mushrooms. She took one bite of the crab cake and had an immediate foodgasm. As I did with the mushrooms. She had an urge for a martini for some time before we went, and ordered a martini. She loved it, and nursed it through the entire meal. I ordered some scotch to start with, very good single malt scotch. For an entre we both ordered the wyegu beef tri tip steak. The chef knows how to do steak, ours were done exactly as we specified to the waiter, Walt. If fact, we sent a tip to both the chef, and the bartender is appreciation. And what can I say about Walt. When we needed him he was there, but he didn't hover, or push. We didn't feel neglected, or hurried. All in All it was a wonderful way to spend my 75th birthday.
Have eaten at Bentley’s before and usually things are pretty good. It was noisy and two of our group were elderly - staff seemed distracted. Missed one order. Food was warm not hot. Had lamb which was just not that good.

The cocktails were outstanding. The ambiance was gorgeous. The food was good but not what I expected given the prices. My husband had the NY strip steak, and I had the lamb shoulder. The lamb was moist and tasty; the sauce was the best part. The mashed potatoes were subpar. The bread was average. We did very much like the Ahi Appetizer - very flavorful and fresh.

My husbands birthday dinner. The food was fabulous including the flatbread, salmon, and filet. The only thing missing was my husband’s favorite beer, Corona, as the bar was out of it. He was very disappointed. The birthday dessert which was shared by all was a perfect ending to the meal. The service was perfect.

There was no front of house person so people would come in and have to wait for someone to noticed they were there. The food and service was great. I did order a meal because it said it came with Butternut Squash, when it arrived at the table it was Butternut Ravioli which I can’t eat because of a Gluten allergy, which was disappointing. I did let our server know and she was very apologetic. Overall, it was a great meal and we loved the vibe

Overall, good food. The steaks were undercooked but tasty. Service was good, regular service meaning they asked what we wanted and brought it out. Didn’t see server until after one of us was completed which made it difficult to try to re-cook one of the steaks that was rare when asked for medium. Overall good food and service, probably would try another place in the area next time.

I had a girls night out dinner here and it was outstanding!! I had the shrimp fettuccine and Caesar salad... AMAZING! I would recommend Bentley’s for any occasion. We had an amazing server who we were able to have fun with, he was not at all stuffy.

Wait staff was very friendly and accommodating; we ordered one cocktail which was excellent (and beautiful) and our dinners were superb. We'll be back!

Waiter was very poor. Took 10 min for him to get to our table. Then we ask for a bread basket
and it never came.
Had to ask for a refill on waters.
Salads took 25 min. to come.
When I paid he forgot to bring my credit card back with the bill to sign, I had to ask
him for it.

Service here is exemplary, as in the entire Grand Hotel. Our friends enjoyed the Korean Chicken wraps, quesadilla, crab cakes. Tips not melt in your mouth tender though very tasty. Airline chicken a disappointment. Dry, scant...almost capon sized. Squash presentation and execution uninspired. But because of staff and atmosphere we had a great time. Birthday treat!

John, our waiter, was a very nice young man. Quite helpful on helping us select our meal. Some of the definitions, on the menu, were unclear. The Sole covered in crab, had an egg batter. I assumed it meant like an egg type tempura batter..........no, it was eggs poured over the top. Coated it kind of like an omelette. Different, not good. I didn't get it anyway. The Paella was very good! Shell fish cooked to perfection! Salad was great with a hearty blue cheese dressing with plenty of nice, large, pieces of blue cheese in it! They didn't have my beer selection so I compromised. They carry it but were out. A bit disappointing for a nicer establishment. Overall, a great experience. Oh, and complimentary desert since it was our anniversary! Chocolate ganache cake! YUM!!! We will be back.

Great experience all around starting with seating, and on to the service, menu and entree presentation and taste. Also, I recommend the berry and lavender infused version of the French 75!

Some of the food we ordered was good, some was not. I ordered scallops and they were tasteless. No seasoning that I could taste. I was disappointed. My husband ordered the seafood chowder and he enjoyed it. The calamari appetizer was okay but I would not order it again. It was served on a stick which we thought was odd. Basically the chef needs to use more seasoning on his food. The service was okay but we never did get our server to refill our water glass. The atmosphere was very nice. It would not take much to make this a five star restaurant. Bentley's staff needs to be more attentive to its patrons.

Great experience. I have always expected Salem to have better restaurants. This is one of the few truly good restaurants within 1 hour of Oregon’s Capitol.

We were served lunch and found the ambiance pleasant with a fire set. There is an impressive bar area and looks like it could have a lively evening crowd. The service was very good and the lunch selections were a good variety. A good choice for business lunch or date night.

Limited menu choices. My Mac and cheese was lackluster and oddly sweet. Waiter asked if I wanted soup or salad with my meal and it turns out it wasn’t included so I paid seven dollars for a side salad. Some kind of electrical fire filled the restaurant with smoke.

The staff is wonderful!! Super friendly and attentive. The food and drinks were great. We loved the many different food options on the menu. It was hard to choose what to have first. We will definitely go back and try some of the other great sounding fare.

Waiter was attentive and very quick to serve. Food was mediocre. Butter salad was weird. 2 scoops of goat cheese on either side unappealing. No taste to salad at all. Needs more to spruce it up. Halibut was over done.

The service was top notch and serving sizes were spot on.
The first course was preceded by a pleasant surprise; an excellent glass of iced tea. I am told they brew the tea, let it cool, then pour it over ice to cool to serving temperature just before it is sent to the table. I love iced tea and theirs is intense without being too bold with an underlying fruity flavor; delicious. Warm bread with herb butter was also served and it was excellent.
I had the crab cake appetizer with Asian side salad. The crab cakes were perfectly seasoned and without an overdose of paprika. I liked the dressing, poppy seed, I think, but I thought the fresh, shaved ginger was sushi and... boing! Too intense for my palette. My wife had the seafood chowder appetizer, which I sampled liberally, and found it to be a fresh and flavorful take on chaudière. I am an aficionado of iced tea, clam chowder, and bouillabaisse, including cioppino, so...
For the main course, I had the seafood stew with fennel broth and I loved it! This came with a side of lightly toasted and buttered herb bread, which I used as a sop. Some might find the broth slightly on the salty side, but I did not. For those who do not know, getting salmon, whitefish, along with prawns, mussels, and steamer clams, still in their shells, to cook together evenly without overcooking any of them, is a delicate balancing act requiring skill and timing. This is especially true of clams and mussels. Put them in too soon, and you are chewing on hard, tasteless pencil erasers. Get it right, and you are in culinary heaven. They did and I was.
My wife had the fettuccine prawns. Naturally, I sampled it, too. The sauce was excellent, light and creamy, rich, but not overly so. The pasta was perfection; I do not care for pasta molto al dente, but a scoshe beyond al dente, which it was. Both meals had an ample quantity of prawns.
The food was faultless and as close to dining perfection as I have experienced. Bravo chef!
