This restaurant is permanently closed. Permanently Closed - Superstar chef Susur Lee designed the menu and still oversees the kitchen but hands over the reins to his sons Kai & Levi Bent-Lee. In this up and coming Dundas west neighborhood the boys have chosen a laid back vibe emphasis on great food and imaginative drinks. The decor also a family affair designed by the boys mother Brenda Bent and her partner Karen Gable.
Critics agree Susur Lee has done it again! What a treat! Our server suggested we trust him and the chef to put together a tasting for the two us. It was fantastic. Hits for the night were the tuna and watermelon ceviche and beef short rib. A wonderful bent on Asian flavors.

Been to Bent the 2nd time ( I been to all susur lee's restaurant in Toronto).
Food was good as usual, service was in timely manner.
I enjoy going to Susur lee's restaurant more often mostly because of the Singaporean slaw, I love it and will always have it when I visit any of the locations.

Love love love this restaurant!
Food is outstanding! Best black cod I've ever had. Slaw salad is a must, trust me. I wasn't interested in ordering it but someone at our table did- fantastic. Everything we ordered was outstanding. Service great too. Go Tuesday nights when some great wines are half price!!

It was all very good. In the end I feel that we ordered too many dishes for the 2 of us. We followed the waiters suggestions, but we were too full to finish the last dishes. We ordered 4 plus a side of artichoke. 3 and no side would have been plenty. Love the half price wine on Tuesdays! Nice touch.

The food was very good. Typically an expensive restaurant gives you the piece of birthday cake for free- not this one! This was very cheap and disappointing. Outside of this, it's a very small restaurant that's overcrowded and waiters were walking over the bottom of my Canada goose jacket and so now after spending over $200 for 2 people, I have to get my coat dry cleaned. Lastly, I was sitting next to the patio window which had not been taped up or anything so, I was freezing....

Serendipity is when you stumble upon something they blows you away. That is Bent for us.

Must try the lobster tacos and the scallops. Actually everything we ordered was amazing.

My family and I love Bent. Fantastic execution and flavours at all times meaning that even during Summet/Winterlicious the meals offered are inventive and so flavourful - A truly great experience each time. Lovely wait staff a laid back atmosphere and drinks that actually contain alcohol.

Are you kidding? This place is amazing. One of my favs in Toronto. Food is excellent. Staff are amazing. Seriously they are AMAZING, with great attention to detail. Brought my sister here for a birthday dinner and without asking for anything, the waiter picked it up in our conversation that we were there celebrating. After dinner, he arranged a birthday greeting written in chocolate on a plate with some candles. How lovely to go that extra mile, bring candles... what a lovely gesture. What restaurant does that without being asked!?! Beyond.

I had a really amazing dinner at Bent. The environment was very chic and trendy. The signature slaw was absolutely delicious (as always), and the burgers were such a treat! The food is a bit pricy, but then again when going to a Susur Lee restaurant, you have to go big or go home!

Awesome experience at Bent. We had an excellent wine recommended to us by our server (and we went on a Tuesday, the bottle was 50% off!). Our favourite dish by a landslide was the spicy tuna watermelon ceviche. We had a few other dishes that were also all top notch. Will go back again.

I went for a nice dinner for my birthday and Bent was a great choice. The food was extremely flavourful and the dishes were well done. I would recommend it to others but my only complaint is that they brought out the courses much too quickly. We hadn't even finished our second course when the server brought out our third course (and it wasn't like we were eating slowly). I found it odd that he actually took our second course away in the middle of eating it to put it on a smaller plate to make room for the third. It was a bit annoying - especially for a nice restaurant.

The food was wildly wonderful! One of the best meals ever

The service was so attentive At one point my friend and I couldn't finish the duck egg rolls as we were just so full. The manager came right over to inquire. Thinking perhaps we didn't enjoy them he was going to offer something else !!! That is superb service

To keep it short and sweet; my friend was visiting for my birthday and we were both exceptionally impressed. The food was great, though the Lobster Tacos had an odd after taste. I would chuck that down to just a personal taste. The bottle of wine was a white Italian (can't remember the name, but it is the first on the list) - it's definitely worth it's 65$ price tag.

As much as I'm a foodie, I am someone who appreciates great customer service and this is exactly what we received. Servers were well attentive but still gave us our needed space to catch up. They were very well informed on what "sounds" like an intricate menu and all around, made my quiet birthday dinner, a memorable one.

I will be back with friends and definitely for a date.

Highly recommend!

I booked Bent because I was looking for somewhere new that neither of us had been to. I didn't really have any expectations. We were pleasantly surprised by the food, service and ambience. The waiter showed us the menu and also said that they offered a 10 course tasting menu. Not knowing much about what we should order, we went with that option. Every course was amazing. The creative use of different flavours and combinations was so unique. The explanation of each course was very informative. I was really impressed with the service. I would highly recommend this restaurant. One of the best!

Great food. Amazing service. Attention to detail. I will be addicted to their Singaporean-Style Slaw for the rest of my life. Lobster tacos - whaddya mean? They're amazing. I ordered the strip loin special - that came to the table, medium to well-done... I was disappointed because I ordered it medium rare -- so they took it off the bill. Top notch customer service. Great food.

We had the excellent sake oyster shooters to start. I had been told that the famous slaw from Lee Restuarant was not available here so we were very happy to find it on the menu! Excellent as ever. We had the scallops and polenta/tofu dish...both delicious.
It is quite noisy but that was fine, just seems energized and fun. beautiful food presentation and very knowledgeable and attentive staff, able to give good recommendations to suit different diets. I would definitely recommend and will return on my next Toronto trip.

We ordered the South Indian rack of lamb , the flavours were on point. There was a different dimension to explore in every bite. The slaw was a must so light and refreshing . Service was slow and slightly confusing in the sense that I am not sure if my waiter was my waiter. All in all very very good

Felt very rushed to order food and then it all came at once Our waiter was a space cadet
I likes Lee's but would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I am mad at myself I didn't complain about the service and2 when I paid the minimum charge for tip was 20%. I should have pressed the other button and given him a 10% tip.
I was with a client which made it worse.

The Singaporean slaw is amazing. I had it a few years ago at Lee (Susur Lee's other restaurant) and it was amazing there as well so I was hoping it would be the same and it was. The watermelon-tuna ceviche was great too. The Tong Yuen and Indian Pastry dessert is a must-try. Super unique and delicious.

I've had such amazing experiences at the sister restaurant Lee (on King W) and couldn't want to try Bent. The food did not disappoint and I was happy to see a couple of the classics available on the menu. I prefer the smaller venue too - more intimate and decor is lovely. Will definitely go again.

Terrific food. A bit on the pricey side but, given the quality, it was worth it. I indicated quiet for noise level because we sat on the patio. Any time the door into the restaurant opened, the noise spilled out onto the patio. I would describe the noise level inside as "energetic".

Having enjoyed Susur Lee's food many times at Lee's and Lucky's, the food at Bent was no surprise...it was amazing. The environment, the service is second to none.

Two must have dishes: Singaporean Slaw and the Spicy Tuna and Watermelon Ceviche

Do not leave without having the Singaporean Slaw!!

loud inside but reasonable outside and we were told that they would be adding fabric panels to the ceiling to help with the acoustical properties because even as a table of two it is hard to hear each other inside. So probably not great for groups since you'll only be able to talk to the person next to you if you're inside.

Loved the place and it was my 2nd time there this summer. The service and wait staff are very friendly, helpful and fun. The food was hands down yummy and the only reason I did not order anything else was we were full.

However, I find being charged $6 for a 1/2 can of diet coke simply insulting. I was dumb enough to say "yes" when I was asked for a refill and ended up with a $12 bill for a can of coke. The beer is cheaper. I understand its a business, however, come on $12 for a can of coke?! I have to admit it kind of turned me off the place.

Our first time and since we couldn't get a reservation at Lee (2 weeks ahead), I thought we should come and try out Bent. At first, I thought there are some repeated dishes from Lee, but they may sound the same, they are actually different. I was totally impressed with the staff and the relaxed atmosphere. Though we expect such amazing food from a super star chef, we usually would have to face with stuffiness and uppiddy staff. Susur nailed it that even we may like to pay for delicious food, we prefer a relaxing atmosphere where we can be ourselves after a long days work / week. Hubbies can wear shorts if he wants to. Though we girls can still dress up if we like. I do prefer the Caramalized Cod from Lee than Bent, it was still very good. I also preferred the slaw from Lee as well. We loved the oysters, vietnamese seafood ceviche, lobster tacos and the tofu lion head. Of course, everyone shared. Other mains included the braised short ribs for the 2 meat eats and they absolutely loved it. The 5 of us were pretty full already, but we had to have the Tong Yuen and the meringue - all perfect.

Overall an outstanding dining experience. All dishes were excellent except for charred salmon sashimi which was very good but not as flavorful as other dishes.
