Bent Fork Grill - Loveland Ratings and Reviews
I went to Bent Fork with my mother when dropping her off for a conference in Loveland (We're in Denver.) and she wanted to feed me for making the drive. (YAY. ;) ) I generally like playing OpenTable Roulette when we're in a new area, and we actually have a Bent Fork in Denver- but I'd never been. They have really great options whether you're making it a special occasion or trying not to spend too much. Service is really friendly and they even sat us a little sooner than our reservation because I did not gauge how quickly we'd find the restaurant. Food was delicious and tasted really fresh. I had the short rib tacos, but will be coming back to try the Stroganoff. We'll be back whenever we're up in the area, and will be sure to make the visit to the Denver/Aurora location as well.
Nice place. Only concern is you may feel rushed. We intentionally asked to bring appetizer before we ordered main. Appetizers came within 3 minutes. Ordered main & hadn't finished appetizer when dinner showed up. Get the sense of being rushed to turn table.
Bent Fork is a place we always go back to, especially for special occasions. Their menu is creative and always changing, but they keep some favorites from menu to menu. (I do miss the mac & cheese with the jalapeno elk sausage.) Service is always great, as is the atmosphere.
On this visit, our food was late, because the manager saw the ribs on our plate under the heat lamp and said, "You can't serve those." So they explained to us about the delay, and they cooked up a new plate of ribs for my wife, and they cooked up a completely new entree for me as well. Then the manager came by to make sure that the new ribs (and my entree) were okay. You can't beat service like that. Our waitress was alert and attentive, and the entire staff were friendly and personable.
Must of been an "off" night for the Bent Fork. Food was marginal at best, service was awful (asked multiple times for this one appetizer, it never came but wasn't on the bill; check came before we ordered dessert so we got our sweets someplace else). Can't say I'm going back anytime soon.
Hannah greeted us the minute we walked through the door with such excitement, it started our visit PERFECT! Hannah made us feel so welcomed and mentioned "she was waiting to meet us", she made us feel so much more important then just the average customer.
Brooke waited on us and also was fantastic, kind and attentive! She had good suggestions and proper knowledge. She was gracious and acknowledged our special occasion.
Overall a wonderful visit! Both Brooke and Hannah made our already special ng Thank EVEN better!
Bent Fork is where I go when I need a mini-vacation. I LOVE their patio! Their wait staff are always personable and fun! I've never had anything but a simply yummy meal. What I especially appreciate is their gluten-free menu options which are extensive. I think they are the BEST local restaurant for those of us who absolutely have to eat ONLY GF. In short, I LOVE Bent Fork!!!
The food is unique for a chain type restaurant. Interesting choices such as salmon fish and chips (instead of the typical cod or other white fish), elk sausage green chili mac and cheese and New Mexico style roast beef sandwich. Would like to try the other items such as the veal meatloaf and bison pot roast! Also have more typical fare such as crab cakes, tacos and classic sandwiches. All the food was really delicious and not over-priced with a decent portion size. I would definitely recommend!!
A neat restaurant in a BIG mall that serves excellent food. We each (5 of us) had a different selection and all were pleased. Slightly on the noisy side (I'm old) took my hearing aides out and it was quieter. Can't say I'm a fan of their slaw but the New Mexico beef was great. I'll be back
We have had several fine meals at Bent Fork and had looked forward to another as we were celebrating a friend's birthday. However, the noise level was such that we couldn't have a normal conversation without raising our voices. The mushroom soup was excellent but the BBQ ribs I ordered were terrible--they were dry, tough, and tasted burned. I sent them back and did not want to take another chance on them so just had an appetizer instead. I had had the ribs before so was VERY disappointed.
Well I know some people have bad experiences but this place was empty, it was even a Saturday night. Went in and it took 5 min just to get some drinks. We ordered the artichoke dip which was horribly presented and tasted bad. I ordered the New York strip and my wife ordered l the lobster mac and cheese, I also ordered the steak medium. Steak and mac came and steak was rare due probably because the chef wasn't a chef. Too much gristle too it was horrible for a 30 dollar steak. Mac was not good either to had shells in it and tasted old fishy. Will not be coming back and a lot of friends and family won't be either.
I was delighted when the restaurant manager came to the table to ask about food allergies very soon after my arrival. He subsequently committed to work with me to create a meal that I would enjoy and could eat. He and I our wait person were exceptional in taking care of me and my food allergies. I am so grateful for the care and the good meal.
Three of us, each with a different dinner and each dinner was excellent. The wine by the glass list was large enough to allow each of us to choose a wine that worked with our meal. The noise level was low allowing easy conversations in our booth. The Bent Fork is a great place for casual dining.
We weren't quite ready to order when our server came by and said she'd be back in a minute. It was almost 10. She never refilled drinks, even though they were empty when food arrived. The server did not come to check on how the food was until the end of the meal, by which time we were wanting to leave! We had two orders of the salmon fish and chips. Both tasted horrible, as did the slaw. The chicken alfredo barely had any chicken in it. The seafood risotto was cold and the rice was undercooked. When we were finished eating our server brought the birthday brownie sundae and our check and was pleasant. Not a great way to celebrate a family birthday!
We chose your restaurant for our family of 5 (2 teens, 3 adults) Mother's Day evening; We would have easily given 5 stars across the board, however, our 26 year old son ordered the Swordfish speciality, for $30 over flat noodles. He was very much looking forward to it. The piece of swordfish was not more than 2 oz! We even asked the Waitress about the size and she said something about 'the skin being removed'. It made no sense, and we did not want to make a big deal, as we were having a lovely family event, but....it made no sense to charge that much for such a small piece of fish on noodles; our son was not feeling satiated like the rest of us after dinner. Our bill was $271.00. The Bent Fork is one of our go-to special occasion restaurants, but this pricey mini-meal will make us rethink coming again.
Excellent food. Pork chops are amazing!
Service was very good.....greeted right away and server was quite attentive without being too hovering. Food took awhile to get to the table, but nothing outrageous (definitely would rather have it prepared and cooked properly than rushed out). Not over a half hour, I don't think.....but I wasn't keeping track.
Tables and decor are very nice, a bit more than casual dining. Though I wouldn't say too fancy or formal feeling either.
If you are looking for a quiet place to eat, this is not it! I wouldn't say the ambiance is lively (like a Red Robin for example)......it is quite dim inside and would be a romantic place if not a lot of people were dining. When you first walk in, it seems cozy and the visual impression is that it would be relatively quiet. However, the noise level is VERY high when full.....perhaps due to the acoustics of the room. It's like most situations of that kind.....the higher the din the louder people talk. And so on! I find it a bit unsettling......though some might not be bothered much at all (or prefer that kind of volume). I don't need solitude or absolute quiet, but some sound deflection/muffling is nice.
Food more than makes up for it, fortunately. I have only been twice.....and both times I ordered the chops. They are that good.
If I could give it a 4 and a half stars overall, I would.
I brought my family of four to the Bent Fork due to all of the positive reviews. The restaurant didn't meet expectations. Food was very average. Nothing special. I was expecting a better ambiance, and felt like I was sitting in booth that felt like your basic hole-in-the-wall diner. Service was OK. Waitress complained that the manager had her servicing tables on both sides of the restaurant, which made it difficult to be more attentive. There are better dining options in Loveland.
