The menu finally received a much-needed update. Unfortunately, pairing the ahi with crimini mushrooms simply doesn't work. But the meatloaf was a welcome add.
Frankly, the wine list pretty much sucks. Having 14 hands for the "affordable selection" is a good move, but try to move a little upmarket and you pay more for a less palatable wine. The owner should step up with a good $20/bottle (retail) category, but only mark it up by a factor of two, e.g. $10/glass, 4 pours/bottle, yields $20 mark up. He keeps his profit and doesn't gouge the customer.
Refreshed new menu. Food was very good and service was excellent.
Overall this place is good. The only thing we noticed was the carpet is really bad and needs to be replaced! French Dip sandwich was great and salad ok. Service was good as well.
It was good but not great. Apparently they changed the menu the week our group went. Would have liked to try the last menu.
Good food. Great service. Great place for lunch. Very friendly employees.
Bent fork is the best kept secret in Aurora!
The dishes are unique and the service was excellent! We can't wait to go back!
Went out for Easter Dinner with my son. I had heard good things about Bent Fork, and the food was certainly very good. Would definitely recommend this place for the quality and tasty food. Unfortunately there were a few large groups which made the place somewhat noisy and loud. Additionally, the service was slow, and it felt like we were missed at times because of the large group that was seated next to us. All in all, a decent experience considering it was a holiday. Would like to go back mainly because the menu is very diverse, and I believe that our experience was due again, to probably short staff and the holiday.
Love this place. The food was good and I aways order the Prime Rib. Was there for Easter enjoyed. Service was great and friendly.
Good food and the experience was enjoyable. I wish they had brunch options/breakfast plates on the menu as well.
Went to celebrate our anniversary. Waiter was very pleasant, menu was good. I had the prime rib and my husband had the ribeye. Both were prepared well and tasted very good. Would recommend.
Very, Very Good for Lunch. Solid 4.3 stars. YES, we would go back. Nice job. DETAILED VERSION: I had a simple business meal to listen to ideas from a couple of people, and for 2 of us it was our first time to Bent Fork. Given prior reviews from OpenTable, we expected a very good to excellent meal and we were not disappointed. SERVICE: We made last minute reservations through OpenTable and were seated at quiet booth by request. Bryan - our server - was excellent. Right there when you needed him, and just the right amount of attention to enhance a nice meal. WINE/COCKTAILS: The two ladies actually had a martini - they liked the Pomegranate mix. The Cocktail/Wine/Beer list was actually better than most. Some interesting finds. FOOD: Kept it simple for lunch with a Burger, Lobster Mac and Cheese (told it was Excellent), and the Salmon/Spinach/Gorgonzola salad. All very tasty - we would order them again. The rest of the menu we will try over time. OVERALL: A pleasant surprise - a nice place on Peoria and Iliff for Lunch. Reasonable prices for what you get. YES, we would go back.
Excellent atmosphere, great value. We will go here again.
Great food, ok service, quite environment. I would come again
Loved the cauliflower "wings" and the lobster mac and cheese
I had a birthday dinner with a friend and we both ordered the salmon on rice; which was good, but the vegetable that came with it was unrecognizable. We thought it was supposed to be Brussel sprouts but we had to ask the server. They were shredded and fried and smelled burnt and were cold. The server apologized, but there was no offer to send the food back to the kitchen, comp the meal, or speak with the manager. We received a free dessert as it was my friend's birthday. Not sure I'll go back any time soon as this isn't the first time something like this happened and it's disappointing as Bent Fork is the only neighborhood restaurant that is NOT a large chain.
Great food as always. But my drink was a little on the strong side. Not really tasty.
Very enjoyable family birthday dinner. From 6 to 75 everyone had a excellent dinner!
Have been going here since it opened the Aurora store (there is another in northern colorado). At first it was good and over the first couple of years it got better. Lately, it has been cruising on its laurels - and the paucity of good restaurants in south Aurora. The menu is stale, the kitchen is risk averse - pumping out the same pap day after day, week after week. I sincerely think that they haven't had a menu rework in the last five years. The tacos and salads are fine staples. But the sandwiches are boring. There is really very limited seafood options - particularly the oddly stupid deep fried salmon and chips. On the weekends there is prime rib - but is is of the choice variety. The wines have the normal 300%-400% markup, starting with $10/bottle wines and charging $8-$10/glass. The wait staff is local and not well trained, partially compensating with honest enthusiasm. We go out weekly and the Bent Fork has been on our regular rotation for years. Whether or not it remains so will depend on whether the owner takes notice of the slide and opts to do something about it.
We ended up with 12 of us on a 10 person reservation and the wait staff was very courteous and made sure we had enough seating and place settings. The food was great. everyone including several 1st timers enjoyed all the food choices. The prime rib is excellent. I would highly reccommend Bent Fork
We had the prime rib special and it was excellent. The brussels sprouts served with it were great also. The caprese salad was okay, could have used more basil or greens underneath and more balsamic on top. But overall, a really good meal at a great price.
We love Bent Fork. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Service is great!
Great menu, food, and service! Have eaten here many times and it is consistently the same.
Service was the highlight. Our server was very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Salad and appetizer were good but my wife’s salmon entree was very undercooked. I had the ahi tuna which was good however the amount of accompanying mustard sauce was way too much and almost overpowered the dish. The limited wine list is priced as it should be. Overall we had a nice time.
We have had very good luck with The Bent Fork in the past. This past weekend, however, the meal was lack-luster. I ordered a half salad, and my partner ordered a whole salad - spicy pecan, spinach salad with salmon on top. My partner's salad came out almost as small in portion size as mine, and the salmon on both was very small - for $10+ a piece, we definitely did not feel as though we were getting our money's worth. My partner sent his back as it was not a full portion, and it came back with more spinach surrounding the salmon which made it look even smaller. Our whole party also ordered wine; two out of the four pours were pretty small - for the size of the glass, the wine pour was pretty chintzy. We almost always have a very good experience here, and we would like to make this restaurant a "go-to" when we visit our family; this past experience, however, will make us think twice before heading back to The Bent Fork. We wish them all the best; consistency, though, is key.
Great dinner place for family and friends our waitress was exceptional and friendly
We had a group of 10 people for dinner and felt quite cramped, wouldn't suggest for groups over 4-6. Great food, though! Would just prefer to go in a smaller group.
The last time I went here was for my Brother's rehearsal dinner (20 years ago). I had forgotten about this place until my daughter sent me a gift certificate for Christmas. What was I waiting for? Great food, tremendous service and reasonable pricing. You don't know what you are missing with this place. Just a bit hard to find, but well worth it.
Always good food, service and overall experience.
Always great service and food . 1 of our favorite places to go .
The food was a little pricey for what you got. No happy hour unless you were in the bar. No bread on the table. You had to ask for it and pay extra. That is always unfortunate. At one point, it was extremely noisy.
Consistent in quality of food and service. Everyone ordered something different and everyone enjoyed what they had. Shared the flourless choc cake and crème brulee and both far surpassed desserts in the pricey steak houses in town.
I never ate here before, I had the fish tacos and I did notvluke them at all. Pricey and the house salad had limp romaine lettuce and was very small for 4.99. I will never eat here again. My friend liked her burger and another friend liked her pasta but everyone agreed it is too pricey and the food is not worth the prices. 2 of us got the tacos and we both hated them. Their salsa is very strange too and we didn't care for it
I have been going here for many years and have always had great service and meals. This is not a typical neighborhood restaurant and I am glad it isn’t as you feel good when you are there.
The hosts were very cordial and welcoming. The wait staff were friendly, upbeat and professional. The food was perfectly cooked and tasty. The prices were on the low side considering the quality of the food and the service level. I’m going back!
Have lived in Aurora for 30+ years and have driven past this place hundreds of times. So glad we finally went, will definitely go back. Great service and food! Food is a bit pricey for a neighborhood restaurant but worth it for the service, taste, and close location.
The food and wine was good. Service excellent. A good place to have lunch.
Creative and delicious food with great service at a very reasonable price.
We thought it might be a bit more upscale so we dressed up but found that it was more casual.
The menu was great, everyone enjoyed there food and the martinis and mixed drinks were fine.
Our waiter, Deshawn was attentive, friendly and not to invasive. We had a table for 6 and it was a bit loud with three birthdays being celebrated around us and the singing staff. We have visited the northern Colorado restaurant and felt it was more of a special destination restaurant so we were a bit disappointed in the casual, busy atmosphere of the restaurant in Aurora.
So the food was good, but...the Caprese appetizer was missing the basil and olive oil, the kid's cheeseburger was missing the cheese, the taco entree was missing the pico, and the NY Strip was about a 1/4 inch thick. So we left feeling like we had kind of half a dinner.
Service was very nice and attentive, but Back-Of-House operations lacking.
