The most amazing restaurant and we have been to and we have been to TONS of restaurants. This place is so special. The food is beyond incredible, we don't have words to describe it! The service is also top notch.
We were in town visiting from Winnipeg and made reservations last Sunday to finally check out one of Susur Lee's restaurants and we were blown away. We just had to come back again on their closing night, so happy we did!
Bent is closing and that's just too bad. Had to go one last time and we weren't disappointed. Great service as always and a chefs tasting menu that was out of this world. I've never seen bigger Diver Scallops and Susur's slaw just never disappoints.
Food was amazing. We had the tasting menu and were not disappointed. Sad to see this place closing.
It's just a bummer I did not find out about this earlier and also sucks that your closing down.
Excellent place. We started with sevice and then crab tacos. I thought I was in a Mexican restaurant. Then we had Chinese chicken. Great combinations.
Amazing ambiance and service was impeccable! Everything we ate was so delicious and fragrant! The slaw was my favourite dish on the menu :)
The food, as always, was outstanding in both taste and presentation. Our server was extremely knowledgable about the ingredients in every single dish. Our family is very disappointed that Bent will be saying goodbye at the end of this month. It was most definitely a family favorite! We wish the team much success in their future endeavors. Thanks again for another amazing night out!
Bent is a true gem. This was the second time and was possibly better than the first. Oyster sake shots were excellent with complex tastes during and after. Lamb curry was outstanding. Service was very good and it is unfortunate Bent is closing their doors soon. Hopefully staff re-appear at new Lee project because Bent was an amazing dining experience both times.
Sorry to say but it was a tad over-rated. I was expecting a lot more from this chef. The tapas style sharing is fun.
Booked same minute I received an offer by email about the plant based tasting menu. Advised it was a booking for a birthday but given a table right in the entrance rather than within the restaurant farther inside. This was booked months ahead. No reason for that to happen.
Service was very friendly but service came out oddly. Drinks served to diners individually over a half hour. Asked 4 times for the wine I ordered. 6 of us ordered the vegetarian special and 2 the tasting menu but the dishes did not get served at same time.
Still dinner was beautifully and thoughtfully presented and we had a great evening. I'm disappointed with the seating decision and surprised by service. I've been here before twice both times with an excellent all around experience..
Great food, exceptional service! We went for special occasion ,meal was expensive but that's what we expect so it's fine. Only part I didn't like is the noise level , fully packed on weekends. We went early so turned out fine for us . Will definitely go back!
Amazing set menu and great recommendations from our waiter. Will definitely go back.
We went for the Garden to Table menu, which was generally very good. We wish there had been vegan options for every course, but the staff did their best to come up with alternatives on the fly. It does seem surprising that there wasn't more intention to make this a plant-based menu and avoid the animal products all together.
Suprerb cuisine and exceptional service. Love visiting Toronto and dining at Bent!
We had a great experience, amazing meals and wonderful ambience!
Not being having been to Lee's and avoiding Chinese food as a general rule, I didn't know what to expect from Bent, but chose it for my foodie partner's birthday. At Bent, Asian food is given an interesting multicultural twist (I suppose that's why it's called bent!).
My partner and I opted for the Garden vegetarian feast and loved it! My normally carnivore partner could not believe that veggies could taste so good! In addition to their explosive flavors, the dishes were visual works of art that appealed to all the senses.
Our servers were very attentive, but not intrusive. We loved that we were able to chat alongside a soft backdrop of fellow diners' voices rather than the usual music that tends to drown conversations in other restaurants. The only thing I'd suggest is having the server inform patrons of options prior to ordering. The table beside us was offered a chef's choice menu and were brought dishes according to dietary restrictions/preferences. They did not call ahead to order this service (I checked with them). We were not notified of this option.
Overall, Bent provides a great fine dining experience. We'll be coming back for another special occasion in the future!
First time at Bent but I have been to Lee many times. Bent does not have the Chinese fushion added to their dishes although some of the main dishes are the same. Still a great meal!
We went in for the new vegetarian menu and we were not disappointed, everything was delicious and the service was impeccable!
Food was great and the service even better. We got to try several different dishes. A great reflection on creative culinary.
We love everything planned by Suzur Lee. So, Bent is great, especially when you cannot make a reservation at Lee's.
Amazing food and experience! Tapas-style dishes that are packed full of flavour - we had the signature vegetarian slaw, tuna and watermelon ceviche and the Szechuan style garlic shrimp. The restaurant is a little loud but it's still a great atmosphere nonetheless. Our server was great in helping with recommendations and explaining each of the dishes we ordered. Will definitely be back to try more!
Excellent food. Wine at $25 for a 9 ounce glass is grossly overpriced and tainted an otherwise awesome experience.
Dinner out at Bent is always a great foodie experience. Very attentive staff, quality of food is excellent and always new surprises on the menu. We have been coming here for several years now and Bent never disappoints. Singapore salad is always delicious and make sure you try their specials!! Thank you for making my daughter's birthday so special!
I love bent. It the Susur Lee spot that's the easiest to get into which gives it a bit of a hidden gen vibe. The food never disappoints and I love the decor. Like all the Susur Lee spots, the servers give this intrusive, long oration about every ingredient in the food, which is a huge turn off. They break into animated conversations to drone on about the amazing 29 ingredient slaw and actually seem offended when the table is disinterested or tries to cut them short. I think this is an issue that all the Susur restos should address-- it's an issue at all of them!
The food is undeniably good. Bent is our favourite go-to restaurant. We hadn't been for a while and went back this past Saturday and brought some friends for them to discover this amazing restaurant. BUT... to be honest, we were surprised at how small the portions on the plates were. My husband and I were a bit embarrassed towards our friends. $33 for 4 little scallops... that's not honest... that's $8.25 per scallop... that doesn't feel right. We might rethink Bent for a little bit...
Wait staff a bit inattentive, restaurant was really cold, food excellent as usual
they did a vegetarian tasting that was amazing!
Great experience overall. I have been to Lee several times, and felt the menu was similar, yet the quality of food at Lee was slightly better.
Nonetheless, the service was excellent, and we were made to feel special with a complimentary dessert for our anniversary.
Food was good but like most restaurants in Toronto it is too LOUD. Don't understand this "loudness" and why restaurants don't make the experience nicer. Will I go back to Bent? Yes, but on a weekday night and NEVER on a week end.
Delicious food & great for sharing. Tasty cocktails. Can't wait to go back!
As always, Bent delivers. This 'go to' is the most consistent restaurant in Toronto. The complexity of delivery from the kitchen is a culinary marvel that never ceases to hit it out of the park. Kudos the gang !
Outstanding service and excellent food-we will return!!!
Enjoyed our first meal at Bent. The slaw was a must as we loved it from dining at Lee--delicious. Cod was nicely prepared and flavourful. The quinoa-crusted onion rings were a treat. The ribs were a bit dry but tasty nonetheless. Service was efficient. We found the seating a bit tight for our liking and conversation from other tables distracting. Overall a good experience and we would definitely go back.
Out of this world slaw. Signature dessert also very memorable.
Fantastic menu and all servers knowledgeable in describing ingredients for each dish.
Nice restaurant with good food but way too overpriced.
My wife and I enjoyed our dinner on Valentine's Day. This was our first time dining at Bent and we will return. Bent was listed as one of the top restaurants in Toronto and we can see why. It's a cozy restaurant that serves very good food with great service.
We visited on Valentines Day and upon our arrival we received very poor reception even though we called ahead noting our challenge with traffic making us a bit late.
The host did not offer to take our coats and proceeded to sit us directly at the front adjacent to all of the staff traffic only for the next guests to have their coats taken and escorted to a quaint table well in to the restaurant.
The food was great and we took the wine pairing however each glass of wine was only 1/4 full and was served well ahead of the dish. A clear strategy to get you to purchase more.
I think we will visit again however not on a special night.
We went for Valentine's day and had their tasting menu. In general the food was good, but really wasn't the Wow I have experienced at other Sur Sur Lee restaurants. Also the location was a little sketchy. But I will say, the SPICY TUNA + WATERMELON CEVICHE, was spectacular!
Simply Amazing! Very impressed by their food and service.
