The service was poor, the server did not know the menu. The quality of the food was very average - bland with average cooking techniques. The price was too high for what you get. Basically Ben's lower their prices and quality of food with their move to north veterans. So, now its just over price average food. Many better restaurants in Columbus.
They accepted my reservation but the restaurant was closed when we arrived!
Food was not prepared as requested (no butter or oil) and took forever. When it arrived it had a ton of butter and a hair. I sent it back. Took forget to get a new order. As I expected, they brought the same meal out loaded with butter and salt. I ate it because at this point I was hungry and needed to leave. I told the waiter my extreme disappointment. As I left the cook gave me nasty looks and shook his head in disgust. They gave me $3 off for a lobster dinner. I will never ever go back.
My wife and I visited Ben's Chophouse on Valentine's Day. My wife's Lobster Thermidor and my Ribeye Steak were delicious. As for sides, the sautéed green beans, baked potato, and sweet potato fries were quite tasty. Our service was second to none. Our waiter, Miguel, took exceptional care of us. We had no wait time to get seated and ate on Valentine's Day Dinner in only an hour's time! This app is awesome! We enjoyed our visit to Ben's Chophouse and will return again.

We had a group of 10 and a reservation. Our table was ready and our waitress promptly took orders. Warm rolls were served and were very good. One dinner included the wrong vegetable which was quickly corrected. Steak and fish dishes were especially good. We couldn't resist sharing creme brûlée and coconut cream cake, both we're excellent. The restaurant was very empty because a major storm was in progress (we had a great lightening show) so it's impossible to know how the noise level, etc would be on a busy night.
Manuel, was an Awesome server. Great Service he made our night so Wonderful!
Hostess that seat us that was pregnant was very rude and abrupt I nearly left.
Food was great ( Seafood options was great) Loved the spinach and crab dip.

We have had our Holiday party here 3 or 4 times, this was the worst, we will never go here again. We had reservations, our table wasn't ready, they kept waiting for another party to leave, our menu's had the wrong specials in them, our food for the majority of us was cold, and the food came out so slow to everybody, we only had 1 server for our party. Don't waste your time or money.
We complimented the chef after our meal. Everything our party of three ordered was well executed and was delicious. The sides that accompanied our entrees were also excellent. We recommend the deep fried Brussel sprouts!
Service was great; however the food was par at best. Ribeye steak was a poor cut, too thin and more fatty than normal. Hopefully this was a one time issue. I would give it a second chance.

This was my second visit and although the service was exceptional, the food was not. I wonder if it's because I go around 8 p.m. on a Monday. They always seem to be out of what I want. The takes a long time to come out as well. I will not be returning. However, I'd recommend going earlier when there's adequate staff or on a day that is busier. I'm guessing the cooks are not the same on the weekend as they are on a Monday since I've read such great reviews.
My friends and I went to Ben's Chophouse for dinner before our junior prom on Saturday, April 2, 2016. I enjoyed the atmosphere. It wasn't very crowded and making our reservations was very simple.
The service was the best thing about our visit, and that was just subpar. Do not order the ahi tuna! I don't know in what universe ahi tuna is served with taco seasoning and tastes good, but apparently their chef thinks so. I love ahi tuna and this was the nastiest thing I've ever had. The steaks were also very chewy. I would not recommend this place to anybody.
The hostess and server were great! Very attentive. The food was OK. I would return because the service was great and I value service.

Service was good. Server was very attentive - maybe a bit too attentive. Nine ounce sirloin was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Came with choice of 2 sides - I chose wild rice pilaf and fried brussels sprouts. Brussels sprouts were very good; wild rice pilaf was just plain old white rice - no wild rice - no pilaf. I paid extra for sauteed mushrooms and was pleased with the generous portion. My husband had the beef tips with mushrooms, onions and rice. Very few mushrooms and a bit too salty, but tender and tasty. He requested the onions on the side, but sadly they were mixed in with the dish so he had to pick them out. Had a side salad - a bit on the small side, but fresh. I would recommend the restaurant, especially for the steak.
Interesting there is no hostess. Menu options and what is available do not necessarily match. Food was delicious. Service was slow; not sure I can pin point root of that challenge. Did not notice anyone in leadership role.

I read all the reviews on this place (through Trip Advisor) and decided to book this one for Valentine's Day. WE LOVED IT! The service was excellent and the food was exquisite. My husband doesn't like Brussell Sprouts, he tried them and loved them. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the atmosphere was nice. We will be going back.
Food was good and well presented overall ambiance was good. The hostess at the time wasn't to welcoming but the waitress did a fair job even though I never got that Budweiser I ordered.
4 for dinner. All of us enjoyed the appetizers and wine. 3 of 4 enjoyed their meal. I had the grouper special. Side items were good but fish tasted old. Took one bite and left the rest. Waitress was really nice. Asked if I wanted a to go box. Told her no thanks. She said ok and walked away with cc to pay the nearly $200 check. I thought she should have asked if my dinner was ok. Was the only disappointment of the evening. We will go back again.
Looking for a steakhouse that wasn't a chain for our anniversary. There was live music that night (acoustic), plaYing a pretry ecclectic mix of songs. A touch on the loud side, but it's a small space. Server was friendly and attentive without hovering. I had the the herb crusted rack of lamb. Meat was delicious, sides were excellent. A little heavy on the crusted part, but not excessive. My wife had the Angus ribeye. The meat had a sweet taste to it, a very pleasant surpise, not what we were used to. We had chocolate cheesecake with pecans, chocolate and caramel for dessert. Amazing.
The price of the meal is well outside our range for a regular dinner outing, but for a special occasion (15th wedding anniversary ) it was just what we needed.
First time visit for our anniversary. Waitress was efficient but not over attentive. Steaks were very good, cooked properly and not overly seasoned, and the sides were delicious. They gave us a free desert as a gift.
I would/will definitely go back the next time we get a chance.

Thursday lunch. Food was good. Service a little slow because there was only one server in the restaurant. Only four other tables of diners over the two hours our large group was there so I guess they are generally slow at lunch. I had made a reservation 10 days earlier though so they knew we were coming.
One of the orders was missed and arrived pretty late. An automatic gratuity/service charge was added into the middle of the receipt. I almost missed seeing it. It was a large group and I would have expected an automatic charge but it should have been circled. There was a handwritten note that said "S/C Incl" but it was a little hard for me to read. Something to be careful about anywhere I guess.
I'd probably go back, not out of the world, but not bad either.
I have eaten here a couple of times before so this isn't a one time experience ....... I had to sit at the bar because of the place was packed. The bar tender was great and the wine was good. Once I ordered my steak it showed up within minutes. Ordered medium rare the steak was warm on the outside at best. They took it back and within two minutes another steak was sitting in front of me. It was slightly under cooked but ok for a steak but still luke warm on the outside. The manager tried to convince me that it had just come off the grill and it shouldn't be cold. The only thing that showed up at the table warm / hot was the bread.
This place has great potential but......
My waiter was Great, however, as soon as we were seated all we could hear was an employee constantly say the "F" word. I had to state something to my waiter. Then once we ordered our bottle of champagne we had to re-ask for a bucket of ice to keep it chill. The food was very bland tasting, my husband rime rib came with no Au Jus (which I have never seen before), and my 9oz top sirloin was very tough (i asked for it med-rare). We were not impressed at all and do not think we will return.
Went to Ben's at the suggestion of a hotel employee and it was very good. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was excellent. They serve more than just steak so I will go back to try the other menu items. I highly recommend it.
We usually take our teams to lunch at Ben's. It's a good place to get in and get out for lunch. Not a lot of traffic and the food is always perfect!
First, our waitress was great. She was attentive and polite. Our appetizers were delicious. Our steaks on the other hand were not tender or juicy. My sweet potato fries were a bit over cooked but tolerable. There was not a crowd at the time we went so we could hear everything that the staff was discussing. There were two people on the back arguing loud enough that we could hear them say the "f" word several times, among other vulgar language that should not be used in a restaurant, especially by the staff. I was charged 2.50 for a glass of water and 7.99 for a VERY small scoop of ice cream that wouldn't have been a serving for my 3 year old. I had an app coupon for 15% off of my total bill. However, 15% was deducted from only certain things on our ticket. At least that's what it looked like. We paid almost 92.00 AFTER our 15% discount for our meal, not including our tip. I was greatly disappointed. We do not want to go back there ever again, and we will not be recommending the establishment.
The food and service were flawless. There were three in our group and we all raved about how great our meals were. I highly recommend and will definitely return.
Best steak in Columbus, GA! My wife and I enjoyed the filet and ribeye. Sides and apps were excellent. Desserts, particularly the cakes were exceptional!
The food here was great! I am a big dessert eater and the selection was fabulous. My complaint is the service. We had a reservation and the event celebrated was not recognized. Our server was 20 minutes at least missing while we waited on the third to join us. I had to physically get up three times to retrieve our server.
I was searching locally for a different kind of eating experience and found that in Ben's Chop House. My friends visiting from California thoroughly enjoyed it! The service was impeccable which is something I greatly value.
The inside was rundown. The food was average. Not at all what I expected . Very disappointed . Won't be going back.
Went for Mother's Day lunch and was sorely disappointed. Restaurant was loud and extremely busy. The food took way too long, and several of our orders were not cooked correctly. Way to expensive for the small amount of food we received. We won't be back.
