At Bennett's we are committed to serving pure, all-natural food. Here you won't find artificial preservatives, colors or sweeteners, flavor enhancers or hydrogenated oils. What you will find are the freshest, most authentic ingredients we can offer.
Most of our ingredients are deeply rooted in the Cascadia region – an area extending from northern California to southern Alaska, and the coast to the continental divide, taking in Washington, most of Oregon, Idaho and part of Montana.
We buy from producers who share our commitment to whole foods and handmade fare. People dedicated to the simple pleasures of creating delicious food and drink the way it was intended to be made; fresh from the earth, the sea and the vine.

Bennett's Pure Food Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Four of us shared several small plates during Happy Hour . The food was very tasty and inventive. A fun variety of flavors. Service was great. The only negative was that a fire alarm went off during the meal. We were told to ignore as it was not in the restaurant, but probably was from an upstairs apartment. That wasn't exactly comforting plus it rang for about 15 minutes. So of course this took away from the dining experience.
If you are young and energetic ,likes moderte $ for dinner ,it is a good palce with good parking. For seniors with hearing challenged or soft spoken lot,it is too lively. serice is good, food good , I had skirt steak and volumn was fit for an athlete. tastes good,my friend liked wine de jour.Location great, and always busy.
Bennett's everyday menu is great, but you need to know about Mexican Monday too. They supplement their normal menu with a selection of ~6 items that are traditionally Mexican. This isn't the 'rice and beans' type saucy Mexican dishes. I especially like the purple cabbage slaw that works it's way into almost all of these dishes.
Good locally owned small chain spot. It is a nice spot for lunch with friends. There were also several tables of business people having lunch. The Spinach Salad was good. There were lots of crisp bacon pieces, and some crabs ins. There were also cubes of turkey brest that should have been cooked a little more. I would still order it again.
We have been to Bennetts probably 10-15 times, and have always enjoyed the food, the ambiance, and the service. The have northwestern wines for the most part, and we have enjoyed their selections by the glass. On this occasion I had Halibut which was excellent.
I was last here about a year ago. I feel like the menu has changed. I thought there were more small plate options. I ordered the beechers Mac and cheese which was very disappointing. It was like it had been warmed up- over cooked rubbery pasta and the cheese was congealed. Won't be returning.
Service s great. Very accommodating. Good options between salads and entrees. All three of us were happy
Upgrade: too much sugar in salad dressings, only one without sugar. Need options. The new trend according to Food and Beverage research is to have little or not sweetener in foods. You are a bit behind the trend and have been for all last 6 months when i asked. I want you to catch up because you do everything else so well.
Bennett's Bistro is consistent good, either for lunch or dinner. I've eaten there many times, as it is a Mercer Island haunt, but worthy of a trip from Seattle or the Eastside. I had the Dungeness crab salad. Awesome & fresh. Has a slight spicy kick to it too.
We sat outside on their patio for an early dinner - it was lovely. The Kale Caesar and Beet Ravioli were delicious! The wine pours are very small for $10+. The measuring is a bit ridiculous. Our server was friendly and quick, our hostess was apparently having a bad and gruffy seating us.
I would come back and recommend.
Being the only "nice" restaurant on the island, it would be great if every visit was consistently good. The service was horrible. Our cocktails came late, the wine after our meal was served. While the entrée was very good, the sides were room temp and soggy! We were asked if we wanted dessert, but no mention of coffee!
Hmmm..... some restaurants may want to continue to be consistently good. When a new restaurant pops up on the Island, Bennett's may wondering why, but I won't!
We came to Bennett'sfor mother's day Brunch. The food was outstanding . We ordered a variety of dishes...my favorite was the chilequiles---a yummy Mexican inspired egg dish. We were served some scones to start our meal and they were fantastic. Nice bar selection too!
The ambiance is casual but very attractive. Comfortable, not pretentious.
Our server was fabulous with a wonderful sense of humor and knew exactly how to help with a three year old's dinner! Said three year olds mac and cheese was very good. I wanted to eat it!
The pastas ordered were tasty and my fennel salad was perfect.
Impressive local wine list. We enjoyed a bottle of Wilridge Malbec. Very nice!
I have been to Bennett's many times and have really enjoyed my food and the service. This time the service was not good and my entree disappointing. I had the crab cobb salad and although the crab was good, the salad was mainly just a lot of lettuce and the crab.
