Benihana - Westbury
For my first time I enjoyed the experience and would definitely visit again.
Mask required upon entry. Social distancing was in effect. No wait time. Excellent service. This was my best Benihana experience out of the various locations I’ve visited. Kid friendly.. my 6 year old daughter was amazed and my 1 year old son was in a high chair very excited. Food was amazing and service was Perfect.
Other than our appetizer taking a long time, it was a nice dinner
Came in with 4 adults and 2 children. We wanted to switch our places but the waitress claimed it was not possible even though there were many hibachi tables available. After explaining to the manager that we were not comfortable sitting where we were, she gladly offered to change our place (kuddos to her). We had 2 individuals who's birthday it was and we mentioned them when doing online reservations but it was entirely overlooked and ignored. Food is overall good but the chef was eager to finish the job and leave.
Good Food, Good Drinks. Ordered Dumplings & Was Charged For Them but Never Got Them.
Took the family to celebrate our 14 year olds birthday. He had a blast. Even our 3 year old was entertained. For a family of 5 we spent almost $300 but my husband and I did have 2 cocktails with dinner. The place was very clean and very friendly and attentive staff.
Food and drinks were absolutely amazing and delicious
Benihana service was amazing. The food was so fast and on time. The workers were very fast and accommodating. We look forward to coming back soon
It was really good our cook 👩🍳 very friendly. Our waitress. Didn’t understand English that I don’t like she didn’t understand us much.
This was our first visit post-COVID. It was just us and one other couple, each sitting on one side of the grill. I will say I was sat close to someone sitting in a similar spot at the adjoining table, so we moved over one chair just to give us more space. The chef had all clean materials, offered hand sanitizer, and everything was clean. Service was good (except my wife ordered brown rice and we had to ask 3 waitresses to get it when the food was done cooking.). The steak & shrimp were fantastic. The chef was funny. It was a good SAFE time.

Our waitress had a horrible attitude , our chef was boring and kept dropping the utensils on the grill . Overpriced for mediocre food . Used to love it there but won’t be back
I have been here numerous times and even during COVID I could have a good time.

Horrendous experience. The waiter was nice but didn’t understand anything we asked for.. meanwhile the hibachi chef was yelling on top of his lungs to her just because she didn’t understand English and possibly messed up the entire tables orders while omitting many things. They forcefully sat us next to a terrible family who were rude and disrespectful even after asking to be seated elsewhere. The food was small portions and lacked taste and substance. won’t be back here
Waitress Beatrice was excellent & very attentive. Chef was sloppy and got some of the orders wrong.
Food was very good. I feel the prices were a little expensive. The noise level was too loud. Should have been some quiet soothing music.

I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes.

My moms 70th birthday
Waited a half hour for a table with a reservation. Then another 15 minutes before we got a drink order in. It was Sunday at 630 and wasn't that busy. When you are with kids they only have a certain amount of time they can wait. Everything was finished at 9, so 2 and a half hours on a Sunday night. Our waitress was very nice and kept apologizing for the delay.

We have been to Benihana many times but tonight experience was by far the worse experience I have had at any restaurant I have been too. Waited 20mins just to sit which I get it they were busy but others were trying to flirt with the hostess so they could go in Front of everyone and if I wasn’t staring her down I know she would have allowed them to go ahead. Also keep in mind we had reservations. Then we got an attitude because when she called our name she didn’t hear me knowledge her then we went to sit down and there was not enough room at all they tried to fit 10 adults and 2 high chairs at a table I was sitting on top of the person next to me the whole night and when I said there wasn’t enough room the hostess with another attitude said I can wait longer for the next table. Also had to ask 3 times for a high chair. Then the drinks took forever and the salad and soup came after the chef started to cook. And if that wasn’t enough the chef had no idea who ordered what kept changing plates. I ask for plain chicken for my son and he gave that to someone else then gave me teriyaki chicken which he couldn’t even eat. The cherry on top was that usually they take a picture when it’s your birthday and they did not. This is a horrible experience and I’m really debating if I will ever go back.

We waited over an hour for our table. Our initial reservation was for 7:15pm. We called to see if it was possible to change to 6:15 instead, and the phone just kept ringing and ringing- no one answered. We showed up at 6:15 and asked the hostess and she assured us that it wouldn't be an issue. Fast forward 1 hour of waiting in a jam packed entryway filled with screaming children...and we were seated at 7:25. We were pretty annoyed, because the hostess had assured us that we would be fine moving to a 6:15 reservation despite ignoring the ringing telephone. The wait staff was wonderful, but the management was awful at managing the seating arrangements. There wasn't an inch of space in the entryway- it was packed with at least 50-60 guests also waiting to be seated. Needless to say, we won't be back to that location.

Seating system is frantic at best.. Just a hundred people crammed into the general entry way. If your table is ready, a host walks into the middle and screams out your name.. Maybe you hear it.. Just total disorder. Get seated and the wait, part 2, begins. It may have been 15 minutes before menus arrived. Drink orders were taken. 15 minutes later, drinks arrive. Ultimately the food is what it is.. You're paying for the "experience." There is definitely no value in the pricing. The food quality is good, but feels arbitrary as it's up to the cook to dole out what he perceives on the receipt he's reading from.

Went there for my wedding anniversary as always. The server Kay was wonderful and as was both bartenders. The chef was amazing as always.

Benihana is consistently good. Always tasty and plentiful servings. The only thing that makes the experience any different is the chef. Some are more entertaining during the preparation of your food , others are all business.

Although we had a bit of a wait past our reservation time. We understood it was a holiday weekend and we made the best of it. Everything was as to be expected. The kids enjoyed themselves. But I did notice that the chefs didn’t do any of the tricks or show that they normally do. Everyone seemed in quite a rush, but again I’m sure it was because of the hustle and bustle of the holiday weekend.

We had a 5:45 reservation did not get seated till 6:30 after standing because the server sat us at a table that had to many people and not enough seats
My mother has breast cancer and is undergoing chemo and was inconvenienced by standing for 20 mins with all the confusion

Made reservations 2 weeks in advance to find out that they were not honoring reservations. They completely ruined valentines day for my date and I. Thank god for mama Theresa's in westbury for quickly accommodating us for valentines day dinner.

I am utterly embarrassed for the experience I had at Benihana Westbury tonight. This is not a stab at the staff, but rather of the ownership and management. I made an 8pm reservation for a party of 2 and did not get seated until 9:30pm. Our chef, Jose, was beyond excellent. If not for him, my night would have been in shambles, but Jose grasped the moment and rose to the occasion. He was motivated and exuberant, while his management and ownership team gave him every reason not to be. The bar was understaffed, the hostesses couldn’t get enough time to even grab a menu, and on top of all of this, we were informed that there was a regular menu and a “valentines menu” aka a menu featuring only the highest priced items. To say I would not come back is accurate, but in addition, I would not recommend to anyone eating at such a high caliber restaurant and receiving the slightest bit of comfort on such a special occasion. Again, the staff was amazing in such poor circumstances and upper management failed them.

No vegetarian options. All you get is tofu mushrooms and onions. They really don’t have food options if you don’t eat meat.
