It was freezing cold even at the tables.The manager was not very accommodating and gave the overall attitude of “there’s nothing he can do so either put up with the cold or leave”. We had to eat with our coats and hats on-not to mention that the food was very bland and was cold by the time we got to our second bite.

The food was good. We loved our chef. Even though Dessert was included with our meals, Our waiter didn't ask if we wanted dessert. He brought the bill to my surprise. That's when I asked for our desserts. When I tried to hand him back the bill to add ln the desserts, he said no.. it's included. Really ?? Also.. we waited way to long for refills. And the place was freezing. I understand they need the vents to cook but when our chef left, he didn't turn off the vent. We had to ask the chef at the next table to turn it off. It was still freezing, before during and after. The waiter told us that during Christmas time, people were walking out because they were freezing just waiting for a table. Said they were going some place warmer.

Food was good as usual. Last two times there waiting to be seated takes forever and the service hasn’t been good. Waitress disappears for way too long on drink refills.

Reservation was for 8:15, was not seated til after 9:15.
There was no hear in restuarant. We ate with our coats on. I made my husband go to car and get blankets I had out of the trunk to wrap around my daughters legs (15-18 yr old.)
They were very unorganized.

Horrible. Had a 7:45 reservation. At 8:45 still not seated. Was told was going to be another 30 minutes. No heat in the building and they were not giving out appetizers or drinks. Patrons were eating with their winter jackets on. Called Shiros and was told to come over. Got there and sat down in 5 minutes. Food and service was great. Will never go to Benihana’s ever again. Don’t book reservations if you don’t have the capacity. A waste of an hour.

It'sNew Years Eve...we all know things are crowded which is why we chose to make a reservation showed up for our 7:45 reservation and were greeted with completely overwhelmed staff, freezing cold restaurant and hungry angry crowds that were complaining that they had been waiting for over an hour and a half....the staff was just unable to cope with the chaos. What is the point of accepting reservations if you are not even CLOSE to honoring them. It was ,in short a free for all. After about 20 minutes of observing the chaos we called a nearby local hibachi bar where we were seated on arrival, had a wonderful dinner at a signficantly lower price and they topped off the evening with a large bottle of Sake to take home as a gift. THAT is how you keep your patrons coming back. Our New Years Eve was nearly ruined due to the haphazard way that reservations were handled.

I have been to Benihana many times and have also been to this location more often than others.My overall impression of this location is that it is not managed very well. I made a reservation for 3 people at 715 on New Years Eve.(I made this reservation 3 days prior to the actual day) I always go out to eat on New Years Eve locally for an early dinner and have never run in to any problems with numerous other restaurants on Long Island. The night was a total disaster....after waiting an hour and a half to be seated in a very cold hallway,We were brought to a table. The dining room was just as cold ...People were complaining and management offered no explanation as to why there was no heat in the building...everyone was eating at their tables with their coats on. So finally seated at 845 for a 715 reservation ...the waitress took our drink order..which came back wrong and it took over15 minutes to get another drink...Service was terribly slow and the whole experience was terrible Food was delicious but that's about it! Didn't get out of restaurant until nearly 11pm.... Reservation times were not honored,complaints fell on deaf ears and the greed of wanting to make as much money as they could on New YearsEve by overbooking was unforgivable! It was such a cold night and it was obvious that there was no heat...The building should have been closed down for the evening! Happy new Year!

There was no heat and we were not informed of this. It was New Years Eve and we waited 55 minutes to be seated. The temperature outside (and it seems inside) was in the teens.

We had reservations at 7pm and we were seated 8pm. After waiting an hour we were seated at a table that was so cold. We had our coats on even at the table. We ended up leaving the restaurant. It was my Husbands birthday and we were extremely disappointed by the horrible customer service.

The heating system was not working. Everyone had to wear outerwear for the whole meal. Everyone in the place was freezing. The restaurant should have been temporarily shut down by the county. The other family at our table complained about the cold and was given $40 in gift cards as a courtesy. We received nothing when we mentioned it to the server. Told her we braved the cold as well. Her first response was that they ran out of gift cards. She went to the manager and, like magic, they gave us $30 in gift cards. If I knew how this dining experience was going to be, I would have rather eaten anywhere else. It seems the staff and management knew of the problem but chose to keep the place open. They should have been given a summons for taking money with little regard for the diners. We will never return here.

We started a tradition of spending New Year’s Eve with our daughter and our grandson here. We have been enjoying Benihana’s for many years. Unfortunately, the food is not the same quality and this year, it was extremely cold inside the restaurant. The service was fine and our cook was engaging but overall, there has been a change in the quality of this restaurant.

It was do cold we had to eat with our coats on .
I felt bad becoase I told them I love to eat here.
I understand that things happen but this was crazy. The kids were so cold.

We go to the Westbury location frequently at least once or twice a month. This time we had a group. It was important because it was for a friend who has been very sick and out of the hospital and it was his birthday. We got to our table on time. 6pm. Yet did not get our soup or anything till about 640. Then she arrived at about 7 with our salads as the man came to cook our food. She did bring water and sodas prior to the soup but left her tray on the hot cooking thing. I had to ask the next table over to get their cook to remove it since the tray was kinda cooking and curling. When she came back with her knew tray we told her becareful with that tray an she said they dont burn. Well the one she had left did burn some. Disappointed in the service. Yes it was a busy night but the service however polite she was wasnt good.

Have enjoyed coming here for my sons birthday for many years, but this year it was a bust. They didn't remember his birthday, service at table was okay , host stand staff needs more training. Though polite, they seemed confused most of the time. Food is good, table service preparation and show always fun. Chef was very pleasant.

Pretty bad experience, it was freezing (we had to eat with our coats on), took them an hour to seat us after our reservation, once seated, took them 45 minutes to bring a chef over. Nobody took our drink order until I asked. Family get together with some visiting from overseas ended up being a pretty bad night out.

There was no heat. Inside the building was colder than outside. Had reservations and still had to wait in a crowded space with a bunch of ppl complaining about the cold. No heat in the entire place on one of the coldest nights of the year. Everyone had on coats it was uncomfortable to eat and enjoy under these conditions

We had the rudest server in the entire world. We were a party of 10 with an eventual check of over $500. Boy did he miss out. The restaurant eventually replaced him with a lovely server. She was very good but completely overwhelmed. With so many Hibachi choices these days they really need to yo their game. We will not be back!

Waited nearly an hour at the hibachi table for Hibachi Chef to begin cooking. He was rushed and I felt we were rushed out after our food was finally prepared. We were just beginning to eat our entrees when the server brought us food storage boxes and shopping bags. The food was well prepared and delicious, but this has not been my usual experience at Benihana.

Everything was great except the heat was not working and we were freezing. No manager said sorry, no discounts was offered, no extra effort to accommodate anyone. So this was very disappointing.

The restaurant was not very clean including the bathroom. Our server wasn't personal and we waited over 30 mins for a reservation that we made on time. It took the chef over 30 mins to Cook. For the price, terrible service.

The food is okay if you like tons of butter and salt. It cost, with a tip, $380.00 for eight people. I could have a better meal elsewhere for that amount of money. I do not like that they put strabgers at our table. It would have been nicer if it were just the eight of us at the table - we would not have been so squished and would have had some elbow room. I wouldn’t look to go back any time soon.

We celebrated my mom's 86th birthday from the moment we got there the staff was attentive and friendly everything was explained to us and we could ask for specific items we wanted or didn't want the chef made the whole experience a lot of fun. The food was amazingly delicious I definitely will be coming back again

Got there at a good time (730pm) by time we left place was mobbed everyone out Christmas shopping no doubt. Food and server excellent we were very satisfied.
