We love to celebrate my husbands birthday every year at this location. The chef was outstanding the food was outstanding. Our server was not knowledgeable of the menu or accurate with the items we ordered. Furthermore if and establishment is adding gratuity that is fine, server should state that service is included. When I was presented with the check and the payment pad only when I asked was it disclosed. Had I not asked what a “service charge” was I would have double tipped for sure.
I have worked in the industry in the past and we had to disclose service inclusion. If we did not disclose the stem we were at risk of losing our job.
I am almost certain that we will no longer use this location as the one in Manhasset has proven to be far superior in their service and appearance overall.
Hopefully somebody will get back to me regarding this experience that we had. Our check was close to $600 and I feel that we should’ve received far better service than we did.

The overall service and food was really good. I was apart of a party of 10 and we were seated on time. The only issue was with the chicken fried rice. The rice was not fully cooked and was very hard.

Great treat for celebration our birthdays
We had a surprise 25th Birthday Party for my daughter! They handled it perfectly! The staff is wonderful! So friendly and fun! The service was great! The experience was wonderful. We all had an amazing time! I would highly recommend Benihana Westbury!

Chef was good and talented; however the server who initially took the food order was nasty and gave 0 refills. Additionally, she ignored us when we asked for to go containers, and asked everyone else at the table if they wanted dessert except for our party
This was my welcome home dinner and it was amazing. I will say, there was too much salt added to the food but otherwise it was excellent. Would come back again!

table was sticky , no air conditioning , no waiter came to refill our drinks , they never sang happy birthday and they were told 2 times. food overall was good. had 2 kids with us and barley any entertainment

The service is very subpar. The waiter did not properly communicate with the hibachi chef orders and my shrimp allergy. The wait was also terribly long for no reason. My filet mignonette was cooked to perfection and that was probably the only positive thing I can say about my outing to Benihana Westbury.
Poor and slow service. Bathrooms with tissue or paper towels.

The service was absolutely horrible. Everything I asked for I was told they didn’t have. But than any time I requested a manger they miraculously had it. None of the food was ordered correct or properly cooked. I had raw food served to me. I requested to speak with a manager 3 times. I come here often but I will definitely not be returning after this disaster of an experience.

Food was excellent, the chef was great, the service was good and wait time to be seated wasn’t long. Overall a great dining experience.
The food was delicious and the drinks were so good especially the exotic mojito. The staff was very nice and accommodating especially for the fact that I had to move my reservation like 3 times. Also I appreciated the fact that the place including the bathroom was very clean. Overall really good place to go out by yourself or with friends, family or a date.

Decent. Fresh food. Great ambiance. Good service. Pricey. Wish it were a little cleaner. Was not at all impressed with the chef. He cooked well, but his antics were horrible; he kept dropping the spatula. His apron was filthy.
The menu was a holiday menu, not the current menu, so the items were not current.
Note: They do NOT do substitutions. I had explicitly stated NO SEAFOOD. My meal included shrimp. The menu did not indicate this. I was not told this. I was not happy. I would have ordered something else.
The visit was OK. I would probably do takeout if I go back.
The absolute worst experience I’ve ever had there! Where do I even begin! I’ve gone here at least 15 times and NEVER had a horrible experience until now. We had a 2pm reservation and didn’t start getting our food until 3:18pm, not too mention the other party that was seated at the table with us left at 2:48pm & I didn’t blame them. All they got was watered down strawberry lemonade (according to them & I guess the fact that the glasses were still full when they left) although they ordered appetizers that NEVER came. So we ordered sodas, 1 was wrong, another was just pure syrup, & another wasn’t even ready because they needed to change the soda in the machine. Waited about 2 minutes for that soda, even longer for the replacement of the incorrect one, & my favorite part was after it was established that there was no more of the syrupy one, well hey replace it with a Japanese soda, nope don’t have that, well at this point water because my child is literally allergic to what else there is drink wise on the menu…. What do we get? A mango smoothie because they thought it was an upgrade from the soda. Ah yes so she can DIE???? appetizers came out one by one, salad with no dressing, I mean sooooo much. The manager ended up giving us a discount which was nice. The chef was amazing. The food was good. But the service? TRASH! Only thing I can say is I like the place, IF I go back, I DO NOT WANT THE WAITRESS WE HAD.
Ok, so we've been here several times before. And it's actually one of our kids favorite places to eat. So we do have a certain expectation.
One of the most important aspects of eating in a restaurant is the service (to me at least). This visit was an absolute let down. We were seated at the table and it was at least 10 minutes before our server came by and took the order. We had waited so long we ordered drinks, appetizers, lunch at once. It took another 10 minutes before we got our drinks. And it took 3 times of me asking for the "sweet & low". Along with the I didn't get my appetizer until the chef had already cooked and was plating the main course. The server was completely unapologetic and did not care to come by unless we called her over. It is a shame when your waiter/waitress is not at all attentive. Service review is done.
As for the food, it was less than stellar. The miso soup had no real taste, just a hint of flavoring. The hibachi steak I ordered had no seasoning, the vegetables were over cooked and the chicken fried rice was on par with the rest of the meal. No flavor. The chicken hibachi was extremely dry and bland. The dragon roll I ordered was extremely warm....not really sure what happened there. But it was also pretty terrible. My family and I didn't finish our meals. Now while it isn't the most expensive place to eat it isn't necessarily cheap. It's over $120 (w/o tip) for a family of 4, easily. It's not worth the value it once was.
I know it's a harsh review, but it has to be at least our 10th time going to the Westbury Benihana.
It was most likely our last time. Not worth it anymore.
Husbands birthday with our 2 young kids was fun.

I haven’t been to this location in a few years but the quality has dramatically decreased. It was dirty and disappointing. I would not go back again. Service was poor and slow.
Specialty drinks were a little pricey but over all good place to eat.
Soon was very attentive to us. She was super sweet and helped us with all our questions.
Our cook, name started with an O, was super funny. We really enjoyed his company.
Ladies at front door was very professional.
Working in the restaurant business myself, I know what to expect. I understand how a lot of restaurants are short staffed. Believe me. I get it. However, the chef took long to attend our table. Food was delicious. Bathrooms are horrific. The sinks are all broken and the water is scalding hot. I burned my hand. Place could not keep up with the amount of people. Very disappointed especially for the total of my bill.
Great overall experience
I ordered 2 appetizers & I only got one delivered to the table & I was still charged for it. I went there for my daughter’s bday & it wasn’t a pleasant experience. We felt rushed by the server & I won’t be back.
The food was very good. Our chef did seem tired and was clearly not as invested as some of the others which was disappointing. So the experience was lacking a bit. The food was a bit more expensive than anticipated but was very good.
I told our waitress several times that it was my sons birthday and never did anything for him. other tables would sign to the birthday person but never did for my son. My waitress never came back to your table to see if we needed anything I had to track her down to get my son another drink. I was very disappointed.
