Benihana - Troy Ratings and Reviews
Our waitress was very short and rude. Rushing us to make decision got our bill totally screwed and overcharged is an extra $60. The manager was sick and coughing over everything not covering his mouth. Out Chef was great that was the only good part of this experience. The waitress was the worst I’ve ever had !!! Messed up my birthday dinner !
We celebrated a birthday here and it was an experience. Not someplace to go for a quiet or romantic dinner. Our service gal was busy but did a good job. Our chef was entertaining but not quite as talented with the knives and cooking moves that we saw others chefs doing. We had an early reservation but it took almost 30 mins for us to be seated! When I inquired at the front desk, miraculously a table became ready right away. This seemed strange to me. I realize they have to seat people together due to the community tables but really? 30 mins??? I would go here for the teppanaki experience, the food was a bonus, delish, but probably only once a year.
Would have been a great dinner but I found an extra long hair in the bottom of my ice cream after eating most of it . When I told the manager he said let me get you another one. WTH? I don't want another, I don't want anything else to eat from your establishment. So he says sorry and then takes just $14 dollars off an almost $200 dollar bill. No coupon or him taking my meal off completely. I had the feeling that they thought it's my fault somehow. I recommend not to dine at the Benihana Troy Michigan location you might get hair in your ice cream too.
The chef and server seemed to be having a bad day. They both were very rude and inconsiderate. The cook burned every ones rice and my shrimp. He did not add any seasoning or garlic butter to the food. When asked to speak to the manger a gentleman came out offering to take 50% off the rice. That was not enough for the horrible experience everyone had at the table. I will be making a call to corporate today.
Noisy and never fails that we get terrible table mates that nearly ruin our experience every time we go.
They didn't understand that there was a difference in what was done and served at another location and 3 times "politely brushed" my question off.
If it's not for a special occasion, I wouldn't bother going here
After our initial contact, we didn't see our waitress again until it was time to leave. No drinks refilled, table not cleaned...nothing. She screwed up the order and the chef had to correct it. Our chef was fun and the food was good. When she brought our bill, there were 2 extra meals on our bill and all of the other bills were wrong. It took 2 return trips to get that right. She never brought some items from the kitchen to complete our order. Overall very poor service that killed the entire experience. One of the worst dining experiences of my life..!!!
We waited over an hour to get seated and we had a reservation for my boyfriend's birthday dinner. Not sure if I plan to come back due to the wait times. I think it would have been different if we walked in for a table and didn't make a reservation. Food was good. It was super loud to a point where we were shouting over each other and to the waitress to place our order.
The waiter did not tend to the table at all. He forgot our orders and did not provide us with silverware. We did not receive the rice for our children until after he brought all of the bills. However, Zack the chef was awesome and my child really enjoyed his performance.
The server we had was the worse I have ever had I was in the area at the time, my family and I typically go to the location in Northville. The sever did not speak good English the chief informed the table that he has worked for Benihana for 18 years. The food was not seasoned well his customer service was not pleasant, nor was his English clear. That was my first and last time attending that location. The sushi was very soft and not hot (las Vegas rolls)- we never received refills of our beverage- the chief also added egg to my rice which I am allergic to.
servers and chefs need to speak up. it was very hard to hear and understand what was being said. You must have cut out the warm towels for hands? Food could have been better this time around. soup, salad and fried rice were awesome as always, but steak was over cooked to my liking. Using a different type of mushroom also not a fan of.
