We thought this was a nice Japanese steakhouse.... WOW were we wrong! It’s basically a Chucky Cheese serving mediocre Habachi style food. Crowded, noisey, dirty bathrooms, kids BDay parties at almost every table. Children running through the dining room, adults waiting for seating wandering around the seating areas staring at diners. So loud we could not hear anything the chef or server said. Our chef seemed inexperienced and the food was a disaster. Very over salted to the point of inedible for the salmon and chicken. One lady had to have her meal recooked... the rest of us ate it but were not happy. Won’t be back
Service was kind of behind. Was 30 minutes behind for a reservation but Charles was a great cook!
Food was great. Chef Charles was amazing. Waiter was awesome. I was happy with my experience
Overall the visit was good. Something fun & different to do than the typical dining experience. It's certainly overpriced for the overall value but the food was delicious & it certainly entertaining.
This was by far the worst experience I ever had the waitress had no clue she forgot our corded, messed up our tab and couldn’t follow directions. Not to add the extra long wait.
Food and service was good but too pricey. Probably would not return
Food and Benihana Long Islands were excellent.
If you go, request Chef Charles! He’s very entertaining, sociable, and he seasons the food very well! You won’t be sorry!
No need in making reservations they don't honor the time in which you reserve. Waited a really long time even though we made a reservation. It was to crowded
Food n chef was excellent but our server was in a really had mood n continued with an attitude and continued to mess up on our orders. After the manager came over n started taking care of us the rest was a good experience!!
This is one of the better hibachi service restaurants I've been to but not the best. The shrimp appetizer was the skimpiest I've had anywhere (each person got 4 PIECES of shrimp - not 4 shrimp) and my husband's scallops were very small. Our chef was great though. He was talented and very engaging. Overall a great time!
This was for a special occasion but they always put on a wonderful show. The food is delicious and the staff is wonderful! I love visiting this restaurant.
The only issue that I had was the order that our food was cooked/served in. Our entree qas cooked before we got the appetizers, which we received last....
Always look forward to celebrate our birthdays here. Good food and setting.
Overall it was good
Excellent as always they have the best service ever entire staff was great
I will not return to Benihana. Management was rude and refused to honor a birthday certificate sent directly to me by Benihana.
Customer service was great
Had a fun evening with great friends.
The chef was terrific! The waitress....multiple orders at my table were incorrect. Disappointed with that as I've never had an experience at Benihanna like this.
Have been to many different Benihana all over the country. They are always consistent with food quality. Only complaints this trip were the severs. Got one drink and didn’t get asked if I would like another the entire two hours I was at the table. The chef was good but having to ask the manager when he came by after the chef left for another drink was rather disappointing. Such an easy thing to take care of. Otherwise the food was good, loud but that’s expected and the fried rice is always great.
I love this place, My kids also enjoy the tricks and friendly cooks
Despite the reservation it's a very long since eat it. The service was also very slow and took a very long time to have the cook come to the table.
We had an amazing time on Feb.17th. Our chef was the best. He found out our granddaughter liked Mickey Mouse, so instead of a heart, he made a Mickey Mouse face with egg eyes ... everyone loved it! The food and service were awesome, even though they were packed with people. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!
Very expensive compare to Osaka Japanese Restaurant.
The food, ambiance and chef were all outstanding , and I will return and tell others as well ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
Food prices went up and the clientele went down. The food tastes great but we had to wait forever for our cook to come to the table.
Always love going here for dinner! Excellent show and food is amazing!
I would recommend your restaurant to anyone my experience was very good out of all three locations closest to me I prefer the Troy location the best the food the service right on point
Amazing my wife and I went there for valentines day as a date the night before the actual day... It was amazing and fun it was my wife's first time at a Benihana s and she was ecstatic, it was overall a great place and choice.
My family and I went here for an anniversary dinner. It was really nice. Ricardo was great. Good was great. I will be going back.
Always enjoy the food at Benihana's. Our service was good. Love eating at the grill but the rooms are packed tight. We had a 6:30 reservation, didn't get seated until after 7:00, then had to leave early because we had to pick up our kids at 8:30.
Excellent food. We enjoyed the experience.
Benihana Troy was very disappointing. Admittedly, the only other Benihana I have been to was in San Diego, but this one fell flat. We thought it would be entertaining for our 6-year old daughter, as well as our teenage boys, but it was not at all what we expected. The chef was very boring. He only did a couple of "tricks" and didn't seem to be enjoying himself or attempting to bring any enjoyment to the table. I didn't feel like my 6-yr old got the "Benihana" experience. She barely noticed that he was doing anything special. There was another family seated with us and they had two children who never cracked a smile and simply were not entertained. Also, the Chef inadvertently burned one of the other children with his spatula.
As for the food, it was ok but not great. They got my order wrong TWICE. First, they brought me Cherry Pepsi instead of regular Pepsi and then they didn't give me an order of fried rice. I had to tell the Chef and then he told someone else and they brought it to me from the kitchen, which was disappointing. They were in a rush to get us out of there and get the next group at our table. It was my son's 18th birthday (Benihana was his choice) and they very quickly did some kind of birthday song and the guy was on to the next birthday song before i could even ask him a quick question. (I was just hoping for a quick picture with him playing his instrument next to the actual birthday boy.) Finally, they acted as if we were being rude to ask about the dessert for the birthday. They were very snappy and then got the other two desserts wrong.
All-in-all, it was very disappointing and not what I expected from Benihana. I'm a grown man so I'm ok without all the bells and whistles, but I was hoping for a better experience for the kids. We won't be back.
My family and I were very pleased with every aspect of this experience.
Food is good and you get a lot; be prepared to take some home; chef is entertaining. Lots of choices both on the grill and sushi. Fun watching expression on first timers. The special classes they have (be the chef and sushi and sake) are fun.
The thing that ruined the experience for me was the two guys next to me who were doing a video chat with someone the entire time. On their phone. They were not paying attention to the gentleman cooking. They were loudly talking. Why is this allowed when you have to share a table and are trying to enjoy the experience? In movie theaters, the staff approach those who are texting. The food was good but I won’t go back because fellow diners are rude.
I am think I have taken my last visit to Benihana Troy there is no customer service at all. The managers are rude and so is the staff but why wouldn't the staff be when the managers customer service skills are just as horrible. I think corporate needs to make some adjustments at this location. There absolutely no hospitality and you basically are rushed through everything and soon as the chef is done cooking they are there with bags and bills.
