We dined for our 11th wedding anniversary. The food was the most flavorful we've had in a while from Benihana. The meald we ordered, two Trio's was not prepared as listed on the menu, to no fault of the chef, as whoever prepared his cart excluded the chicken.
Overall the experience was good. Nothing stood out as awesome. Service was attentive. We were celebrating a birthday and although it was mentioned to the staff no celebration or mention of it after the initial introductions. I didn’t expect extravagant fanfare but a little extra attention would have been nice.
It was more expensive than other area restaurants similar in style.
The cook was worse I 've ever had as many times I've eaten at this restaurant nothing was seasoned the rice had big chunks in it parts was still white were he didn't mix it good, shrimp was rubbery and the chicken wasn't done
I had a surprise 13th birthday party for my daughter and 13 guests. Mgr. Colin was very accommodating. After arriving Blake was our waiter and was very attentive especially since I had 1 child with a food allergy. Our Chef Eric was AWESOME and ENTERTAINING to say the least! We'll for sure return. Thanks for a wonderful birthday party for my daughter Khambrea.
The WORST experience ever. Waited 15 minutes for drink order to be taken, manager walked by half way thru the meal and scooped up my husband’s chair while he was in the restroom, and it just kept getting more ridiculous. Will NEVER step in that establishment again.
The only drawback was the wait; after we were seated we had to wait for a chef , then we realized that the chef that was cooking at another table was our chef. It deemed that they were short handed on the number of chefs they had .
Hour late to be sat with reservations. Our chef… Didn’t perform any of the usual tricks… Part of the reason of why you go there. my son chose Benihana for his 11 year birthday and it was not quite the experience we had all hoped for. Very disappointing!
The chef was very nice but off- from the presentation, screwed up orders and did not have enough food…
Our family of 5 went to Benihana Woodlands location for my husband’s birthday. Service was prompt and our chef, Roy, made the night enjoyable. We had a great time and enjoyed the food. The chicken fried rice was awesome!
I really loved the ambiance of the place. Very open and friendly. The food was phenomenal and very kid friendly. Best for groups, but a dinner for two will enjoy the festivities as well.
Short staffed; chef was unenthusiastic and the meal was below average
This has always been my grandson's favorite place to celebrate his birthday. He turned 8 with 5 of his last birthdays celebrated here. However, this time was very disappointing ... slow service, food got cold during the presentation, rice not delivered until end of meal, new chef (perhaps in training ?), not nearly the 'show' of past visits, had to ask for ice cream and tea, had to ask for picture of Birthday Group, poor picture (appears to have been a dirty lense), just so much less special than past visits in memory .... overall quality just not the same .... disappointed .... just being straight forward honest ... sorry!
Food was excellent. Although our shrimp was a little over cooked. Had to flag down our waitress for drink refill and that was if we could find her.
Family member birthday celebration and it was wonderful !!
Our chef was competent and the dishes were tasty. However, our chef was not Asian, did little to engage with our table and did not have the skills to entertain with tricks you customarily expect from a Japanese Steakhouse.
Also it is very expensive, averaging $35 per person NOT counting beverages, taxes and gratuity.
It was fun to hang out with my boyfriend BUT there wasn’t that much of a show put into work. Yes its mostly for kids but my boyfriend it was his first time and he wanted to see a show go on like how i been telling him with all these tricks
Mature people should be entertained too!!!
Our reservation was 7:00 pm for 8. At 8:30 we had no chef yet. We eventually spoke to manager only to find out they were understaffed. At 8:45 the chef appeared. Terrible service - we’ll find another place in the future.
We had a reservation and were on time. We were seated promptly which was nice and our drink order was taken. I looked at my watch and it had been 15 minutes. Finally at 20 we asked where the drinks were. No order was made (not even water). So we had to order again. Then she came back and said they were out of the type of drinks we wanted and had to order something different. The waitress was looking after multiple tables and wasn’t able to keep up. We ordered sushi as an appetizer and it was not brought with the appetizers so we had to ask for it a second time. The food was good. The issue was that the chef couldnt cook more than one thing at a time. Onions for instance was it’s own course. Lame. We had a 9:15 reservation and didnt leave until 11:30. I come every year (for the past decade) for my birthday. The waitress and the manager said because it was valentines day (a Wednesday) they would not except my birthday certificate. I explained that that was not outlined anywhere on the rules for the certificate (which are extensive). Overall this was a terrible experience and not worth the hundred dollars. Do not go to this Benihana‘s
Had a wonderful time . I will most definitely be back . The cooks was amazing to watch even though our waiter didn’t have much animation to our dinner the cooks around was amazing to view , wish they all would add animation to there cooking .
Valentine day and first time there! Great experience
My favorite place to dine and relax. Each visit is unique in itself. Will always drive the extra mile for a Bennihana's. Great Japanese cuisine!
Everything was nice But my rice was salty and that messed up the whole dinner.
Experience was awesome. I enjoyed bringing new friends.
Hostess was very rude. Our chef was very nice though. We got good company but was completely disappointed when they told us there's no private seating yet when the couple behind us requested it they gave them a private table & Chef.
Had a great time with family. The food was excellent.
Me and my wife are regulars and we enjoy ourselves and leave full and tipsy every time! Love Benihana!
Pretty good. Kinda pricey for what you get, but you are paying for entertainment.
Wonderful experience! Celebrated my 13 year old son’s birthday and everything was perfect! Awesome service, quality of food and ambience! I highly recommend this restaurant!!!
I usually never leave reviews, but my family and i had such a bad experience here. I have been to Benihana before in different locations and always had great experiences, so i figured that taking my wife out for her birthday would be nice. The chefs were very anti social, creating an environment that is awkward as well as our chef was very rude to my mother in law. For the amount of money we spent this is ridiculous. The food was very bland as well as poorly cooked. Meat was uneven, and i actually didn’t eat my plate. The staff even brought my wife a small bowl of whip cream with a candle in it for her birthday celebration. It’s better than nothing but a spoonful of whip cream, really? After spending over 150 dollars that’s it.
We went for my sons birthday and they didn’t sing happy birthday after being told twice. They ran out of candles and the waitress had to be asked each time we needed a water refill. They also have small portions to my husband Diablo. We will not be returning.
We had a wonderful time. The chef was entertaining and cooked a delicious meal in front of us! The other people we were seated with were so nice to meet and dine with. The meals all come with soup, salad, appetizer and entree! I loved the flavor of the soup and my tuna was seared perfectly! Many couples and families were dining on the same evening as us. If you are looking for a quiet, romanic evening, then this is not the restaurant but if you are interested in meeting people, being entertained and having some great food then you should definitely dine here!
Came to Benihana for lunch for my daughter’s 13th birthday. Our waiter was attentive and our chef was amazing and funny. She loved it! Thanks for helping her day great!
The Manager TIP was an amazing person. Very welcoming and professional. She was tired but she took care of my entire family. We love TIP!! Thanks for your amazing service. We will be back
WONT BE BACK... we've been here a few time over the past months and we kept making excuses for why it was a bad experience... too busy, too hot, too cold, vent hoods dripping on us. At the end of the day, the service is average and the ambience is overrated. We had a reservation at 6:00, didn't get seated until 6:45. Our chef wasn't very pleasant and complained about how busy it was. It took forever to get the actual meal served, we ended up being there for over 3 hours. Needless to say, after many attempts to like this place, we wont be back.
It was great, Alway enjoy dining here would recommend to anyone. Celebrate my Birthday here every year and dine here all time. Sometimes you are just seated with the wrong group of people not outgoing and don't talk much so it can kinda hinder dinner but the chef and the taste of food makes up for it.
Good Japanese hibachi cooking and food quality. Saturday evening was very busy. Although we had a reservation, had to wait 30 minutes for a table and another 30 minutes at the table for drink order and to order from menu. Food prepared well but my order was missing chicken and had to resolve after all meals were served
They didn't have enough staff to accommodate and the meal was over priced. My appetizers came out before I got water or drinks, but it took an hour to get appetizers go figure. I could have gone to Capital Grille for the price and got better service!
45 Mins after our reservation time we had still not been seated and were told another 20/30 Mins from them. The manager did not even apologize or act concerned. Very displeased.
Wonderful service for our gluten and dairy free family members. The “medium rare” tuna steak was ice cold in the middle, but still delicious.
We were looking forward to a great experience of “eyes on” cooking but were greatly disappointed by the staff they have cooking before you!! Our chef lacked motivation as he acted like he could care less if he was there....the food is way overpriced for the taste....it was pretty much tasteless...the onion soup was the favorite for us....it was the only thing worthwhile eating!! We will not be eating there again!!
My last 2 times at Benihana's Woodlands has not been a good experience. The first time the cook was a trainee and she was so nervous that she was sweating profusely probably from the heat of the stove and the pressure. This last time the cook overcooked everything. The zuchini was burnt and mushy. The shrimp was rubbery from being on the grill too long, The rice was crispy and the chicken was burned around the edges. The steak was the only thing thing that survived being that a lil burnt is okay. The whole grill was charred and that's how he kept cooking. There was food eveywhere especially the rice. There was no consistency with the flow of the meal because everything was late getting on the plate.
