Benihana - Sugar Land
The host, owner / manager was abrupt, almost rude. The servers & chef were delightful. Bery noisy, but fun. No place for a conversation. Food was very good
The waiting time for the chef to prepare the meal was more then an hour. Also, the chef was very lousy in doing the tricks.
Came back after 10 years, we enjoyed the food, however, chose this place for the cooks display of "entertainment",
This was lacking as compared to 5 other tables we watched.
Lunch is great value.
Service was terrible.
I've been to this location several times and this was the best experience that I've had.
No real dedication like years past, kids experience is no longer there. Tricks they do not great for even a new family. No one is supervising this, I guess they get the crowds so no intererst in making this an authentic experience for the heavy price. Where food is now ok nothing grand or tasty. Ill stick with Westheimer store.
All around great place, period! From the food, service and atmosphere it was a great time!
Good experience, but annoyed that open table allowed me to book a reservation for 11:15a when they didn't open until 11:30! Thinking this is a open table issue, otherwise I would have given Benihana a much lower rating.
Food is delicious...
People are friendly, though it’s a bit pricey
Great place where most can find something enjoyable. Always a good spot for Birthday dinners.
It was very busy but the staff was quick to seat us after our last person came in and it made my birthday great!
The food wasn’t good this time it didn’t taste fresh. The waiter was awful. It was all around a bad experience this time go round.
The rude manager, Edward, ruined my birthday dinner with my sister.
We have had better Chefs that are much more interactive and entertaining then what we had that evening. And food was a tad pricey but our overall quality of food was great!
I had a 7:15pm reservation. We were finally seated at our table at 7:35 after asking the hotess twice how much longer the wait would be. The chef didn't come out to the grill until almost 8pm. We ended up having to pay an additional $20 to have the fried rice with our meal versus steamed white rice. The wait was long (although there were several empty tables), the portions were small, the costs was much higher than usual/expected, and my kids didn't like their food. We have been to many hibachi grills, including Benihana, and this was under par. I received a survey call the next day asking about my experience and was told that they would be expressing my concerns with the owner and they will call me back, but that never happened. I don't believe that we will be patronizing Benihana any longer.
Greeted by a RUDE hostess named Julia. No customer service skills and condescending in her communication. She should be the face of this place. Julis needs a job not in the public eye.
Food was good but, chicken was tough. Was given the evil eye from Julia to leave. We had some drinks left and wanted to take our time and enjoy. I do not think we should be rushed when we are spending 110.00 for two not including tip.
I have been loyal patron since I was a child and now I am 60! Julia ‘s treatment destroys brand loyalty.
Celebrating a Birthday. Be prepared to wait.
We love Benihana, but sadly this time our steaks were overdone & the ice cream was melted.
cook was good. waiter was bit clumsy. my customer frown at the clumsiness of waiter and said he would not come next time. waiter looks too young and less trained. there was less coordination between reception desk and waiter. however I can fully understand the hardship of service sector especially in restaurant. you can hardly please everybody every time. I will come again for sure.
Always enjoy Benihana's!! Edgar cooked everything to perfection and Doris was a marvelous server! Jamie always has a warm welcome at the hostess desk!! Thank you!!!
This Benihana always feels like they are made to get you in and out very quickly in order to turn their tables. The chef rushed his 'performance' which is one of the reasons you go here, the food was just okay (the kids meals usually come with added corn and rice as a side, this time it didn't), the prices have gone up, and their wine list is pricey (my 'house white' was over $13). Not likely to visit again in the near future.
When I arrived fro my party of 15 at 750p I was told all guest needed to be there in order to be seated. No seating was available in the waiting area. It was hot outside and asked if we could be seated he said not until all guest have arrived . I told him 14 were here and if we could be seated he said only if you order the the last guest. That is horrible especially when no seats are available to sit while waiting. This was for my daughters 23rd birthday . I would not recommend this place to anyone I would only tell them about my bad experience ..
Love their food! Fun place to take kids, although can be a little pricey!
Food is always good. The chef did not have much showmanship this time.
We went for a birthday of a family member, the food was good and the service also.
It was an okay experience. Our chef wasn’t very entertaining and the food didn’t have as much flavor as we were expecting but our server was amazing!
I’ve been to this restaurant before but this was worst experience. I reserved ahead of time and my full party was there before arrival time and still go seated 15min after reserved time- they didn’t inform us of any delays. It was my daughters choosing for her bday and was so dissatisfied with poor service - no refills, hardly ever came to check on us. The chef gave poor performance especially when compared to table next to us. He was rude when I corrected him on order too. Just terrible
Celebrating a Birthday it was fun
We have been to this restaurant many times, and always enjoyed the food and the service. But this time the food was not good at all. The chef was in a rush, all we could taste in the shrimp and chicken was salt. We ordered the Colossal shrimp which were supposed to have lemon butter in them but there was no taste. While cooking the Chef does some tricks with the egg, and other stuff but he didn’t do any of that. Very disappointed with our experience.
It was my cousins birthday ! We come here lk 2 or 3 times a year. NEVER disappointed. Tom our chief was awesome 👍🏽
We celebrated a birthday and it was great! Kids love it and we didn’t have to wait for our table with reservations
The open table experience was great. My kids loved the chef's tricks with fire and cooking utensils.
The restaurant is festive and filled with guests who were celebrating birthdays. It was very loud and difficult to carry on a conversation with anyone other than those seated next to you. The servers were friendly and responsive and the chef was mediocre. My mother-in-law loved the sushi and she knows her sushi well. The rest of the meal while entertaining to watch was only slightly above average. We still enjoyed our evening and enjoyed visiting with the other guests at our table.
Great place to have dinner with the family. We really enjoyed our time.
Food was pretty good, service was alright. The people we were seated with though mad the experience unpleasant. One of them was particularly brimming with hostility. Otherwise, the ambiance could use some updating. Prices a little high for the quality of the food as well. Thank you.
Although our dinner ended kinda abruptly due to my brother's anaphylaxis, the food was good and the employees were quick with contacting emergency responders. Would definitely eat here again!
Chef seemed to be in a hurry. Finished in record 20 min. Food was not tasty at all. Disappointing.
Great food and great service
