Benihana - Sugar Land
The only issue I had was having to wait an additional 15 minutes past our reservation time.
Overall good hibachi experience. Chef was not Japanese and didn’t perform many tricks.
The chef was not enthusiastic about cooking at a venue where the spotlight is on the chef.
the food was really bad, the sashimi looked and smelled old and the sushi rice fell apart which should never happen unless you don't know how to use chopsticks.
It was a very nice environment.... staff were really nice ,checking on us time to time. Will definitely be there again
We love Benihanas. We have been coming for years and have never had a bad experience.
Made a reservation and was still told to “sit” in the front of the restaurant for over 15 minutes. Others who walked in after were seated before us.
Our server was not attentive to details. Many times did not bring drinks without ice even though we requested no ice. Did not bring to go box until asked twice.
We always enjoy the staff and atmosphere of Benihana, Sugar Land.
We love this Benihana location! We come often for birthdays in our family and would recommend it to anyone who is interested. Great service and great food!

We love this place and it's fun to be there with family and/or with friends. The service is exceptional and price is also reasonable. One thing I would recommend is make reservation or you will have to wait for a while.
Came in using my birthday rewards certificate. The chef was not entertaining (there were 3 kids and 2 adults in our group), the food was bland and overall it was just blah. Glad I didn't pay full price.
1- Chef: excellent experience, talent, entertainment, and great food
2- Food: every item was served well, as expected.
3- Service: the attendant/ service rep, was in a hurry to push us to finish to clear the table although it was just a Monday evening!
We ordered ice cream & he disappeared after we paid the check, we never got the ice cream, and we felt obligated to leave!!
I could’ve lowered the tip, but it wouldn’t be fair as the Chef did an excellent job that day.
Very disappointed, sent an email to corporate, have not heard back yet.

I was not very impressed with my experience at Benihana. I haven't been in years. I have been looking forward to going for a while and was finally able to make arrangements to go. I live in New Braunfels now, and we don't have a Benihana.
I used your online reservation service. I made reservations for 8:15 pm on a Thursday evening. We arrived a little early. We were told they were running behind. We were not seated until some time between 8:45 - 9:00 pm. I don't understand why the reservation wasn't honored.
My sister in law does not eat meat and told our waiter when ordering. When the onion soup arrived, she tasted it. She asked the waiter what was in it. She had to ask him directly if it had beef broth. You might consider noting this on the menu.
The menu listed "vegetables" as part of the dinner. The only vegetable were onion and zucchini. At our local hibachi grill, they include carrots and broccoli.
The onions were barely cooked and the zucchini did not have much flavor.
I ordered the Chateaubriand. The steak was amazingly tender!! And was cooked perfectly.
My mother and daughter ordered steak and shrimp. I was pleased with the amount of meat she received.
My sister in law ordered the shrimp and seemed pleased.
They did come sing Happy Birthday and brought me some ice cream. That and the picture were a nice touch.
There were some good parts to my dining experience, but overall, I was unimpressed. I feel like my local New Braunfels hibachi grill provides a better value and better tasting food.

I went to benihana's for my birthday this past weekend and I was very dissatisfied. The food was great but the waitress was less than satisfying. I went with my family of 5 and I ordered the 6 course meal of lobster and filet mignon which was a $40 plate. The waitress did not bring my green tea, And I had to ask for my ice cream. When i asked her what flavors y'all had she said only vanilla and chocolate yet the family sitting with is received strawberry And they did not even have to ask for their dessert. When I asked her of I could get the green tea to go and asked for the ice cream she gave me the nastiest look. At that point I asked to speak to the manager in which he gave me the green tea, and a coupon for $20 off. I was not happy. My plate itself was $40 and our whole meal was around $200.
We’ve been eating at this Benihana for 20 yrs. so obviously we like dining there. But this was the worst meal we’ve ever had there and if I didn’t expect more I would not return. The waiter was not attentive at all and had an attitude that seemed he didn’t like his job at all. One example: The soup came out barely warm for the entire table and the waiter just said, oh really?” That was it. It took more than one request to get drink refills. Then the chef, who we haven’t had before, was really disorganized and had all the meat, seafood and vegetables on the grill at one time. He prepared all the meats first so when he finally got to the vegetables and onions, the chicken, steak and seafood were all cold. It was really a bad dining experience. Since the old Manager, Boon, has been gone and much of the longtime wait staff as well, this place has gone downhill. The manager always would come by each table and see how things were. You never see that anymore. Too bad as there are many dining choices to choose from.
Edgar is a wonderful chef! I highly recommend him.
Everything was great my husband had an awesome birthday.
One family member has seafood allergy shrimp from 5 course meal was still placed on her plate. Overall it’s always amazing here & amazing tatste!!

We hit a bad traffic snag on the drive over. I called immediately while my hubs navigated the traffic issue, which was unavoidable. The woman in the phone was extremely rude “oh so sorry, we won’t hold your reservation. Next available is 9:00” Our reservation for 6 was at 6:30!! when i asked about what if we actually got there within 10 min of our original reservation, her reply “so sorry, we cannot honor your reservation if you’re late.” Which made my husband furious because it was my birthday dinner. Somehow (don’t ask!) we made it at 6:36 and they had given our table away. We almost left, another girl working the front desk said she would seat us in 20 min so we stayed and she kept to her word.
Our waiter and chef were wonderful, very attentive, full of suggestions (we had newbies w/us) and great knife antics! The food was very good and we had fun with the other guests dining at our table.
Our chef was very kind and engaging. Our waiter was attentive and all our orders were correct. The food was fresh and plentiful, however I would have preferred a bit more seasoning. The biggest issue we had was that the restaurant was FREEZING. Our waiter tried to help by providing napkins we could cover the kids with, but It was so cold for the two children, that their mother had to leave the table during the meal and go a few doors down to purchase hoodies for them to wear thru the meal. I would recommend going however I would highly recommend bringing light jacket/sweaters.
It was a fun dinner with family and my little girls. The food was yummy and the service was good. I would definitely consider going there again
Everything was wonderful. Julio was a excellent cook and we had great table conversation. I love coming to the sugar land Benihana’s. I stay by the woodlands and I drive out my way to come here.
