Benihana - Sugar Land Ratings and Reviews
The Hostess was inexperienced & a bit rude. Our reservation was for 2pm & we checked in at 2:02 , but she rudely told us that we were late & that she didn't see our reservation. Another male Host checked the computer & found our reservation immediately & checked us in & asked us to wait to be seated but she nor anyone apologized for her oversight & uncaring attitude! My one other complaint is that the chicken fried rice was very salty! I almost couldn't eat it!
The evening we were at the restaurant seemed to be a bad one. We got seated 30min after our reservation time but in order based on who arrived. Then it took around 45min for us to get our first taste of food. We were thankful we took an early seating because it appeared that the schedule got farther and farther behind throughout the night. Food was good but it took us 2.5 hours from arrival to departure.
I have noticed when we say it is not our first time there, we have an inexperienced chef cooking on our table. This time, our fried rice and the eggs on it were burned, the meat was tasteless. We have been each time more unsatisfied and are probably not returning.
Went on a Friday and couldn't get in without a reservation. We could wait, but it would be an hour wait. We left and made a reservation for the next day. Reservation was set for 8:15, but after arriving about 15 mins early, the hostess stated they were behind. Meaning we waited until 9:15 before they began cooking.. was a little disappointed with the wait but it was a nice experience. They area bit pricey. Cheapest meal is $27 and goes up from there.
I don’t know if it’s the new manager but it seemed like every table had a complaint, they were short handed and it very well could be due to holidays. We tried to order Vegas roll and they said it would take to long. I come here all the time and never had experience like this. Our server really tried to make up for everything but it saddens me the way it was run that day. Because this location always delivers a great experience.
We love Benihana Grill but this meal was not up to their usual standard. It was Christmas Eve and very busy. We had a 6:15 pm reservation and were seated promptly. I had the feeling that our Chef was relatively new. He just didn't seem to have the "rhythm" needed to bring everything together in the right way. The zucchini was charred but the mushrooms were half cooked. There were a lot of charred bits in the chicken fried rice as well. I asked for my steak prepared medium RARE as did my husband. His was cooked properly but mine, which was removed from the grill awhile after his, was not. Everything just seemed "off." Of course, we will not stop eating at Benihana unless this starts happening regularly.
Waitress was wonderful
Chef ok but not very entertaining
Waited about 30 minutes despite having a reservation
Walk-in that walked into the restaurant just before us seated first
Food was so so : The châteaubriand and it was riddled with fat about 1/3 was not fit to eat
We came in at 5pm Saturday and we where told without a reservation we could not be seated until 930, which was fine we understood. We made a reservation for the next day at 12 pm. We were sat promptly drinks brought and orders taken by 1215! Then we sat and sat. They came over and started our lunch around 1pm. The amount of butter used was ridiculous! Our cook barely spoke to us and didn’t do any of the cheesy tricks my kids where looking forward to. We will look elsewhere for hibachi in the future.
We got sick. There was cross contamination going on with raw chicken. Never again. We did not get served our green tea, and was charged extra for rice that was supposed to come as a five course meal. Very unhappy with our chef who did minimal tricks and when I say minimal I mean it. Maybe one or two. We had long waits for our drink refills.
