Benihana - Stuart Ratings and Reviews
I just have a couple of things I would like to mention. I booked this place for a bridal party to EAT before the big day, I even put it under special note for the restaurant to see, and nothing that I asked for was met. They said they were going to take our picture and give it to us with a frame, and it didn't happen but the couple next door to us did. The matcha green tea that comes with your meal is never given to unless asked for even though your paying for it, and it's disgusting.
Never fails. Their service is great at first but the second a higher spending table arrives they abandon you. You have to ask for the Bday photo and forget hoping for refills. Glad I got the one refill on my mango lemonade. Probably would have ordered dessert if I finished my food bit hard to finish a big meal when you dont have a drink.
Service was not the greatest. As soon as you walked in the 3 host at the door did not even greet us for about 5 minutes. They did not even seem friendly. Our waiter was very slow we thought he was new but was not. The cook was fun but the food could have been cooked a bit longer. Waiter even forgot appetizers for a guest at our table and became upset when she no longer wanted it since he put the prefer in late. This is the worst service I have ever had in any of your Benihana restaurants and I have been to quiet a few.
When you book a reservation for a set time and they make you wait until they can fill up the table completely, ridiculous. That's what we made reservations, late for a movie! The girls as hostesses were horrible seating others prior to us, even had to demand to be seated as I knew we would be late!
As always a very nice experience. Went with my "work spouse" who has a shellfish allergy. Her dinner was made in front of her before any other cooking was done so that there was no chance of any shellfish residue near her food. I thought that was very considerate. Always enjoy watching the antics of the chefs. Food was tasty as usual.
They did not accommodate our reservation on time. Service was really slow (2 & 1/2 hrs for entire meal). Waitress actually questioned me about 10% tip in front of others at the table! Food was mediocre & a bit on the expensive for what we got. View was fantastic. Lots of people so it was noisy.
Birthday dinner. I was told there are no more than 8 per table. I requested if it was possible to keep it 7 or under (8 is a little crammed). They agreed, then sat us totaling 9 people at the table. Waitress did not bring the white rice for the kids. Cook had no personality and did not do the typical activities with the food. No Birthday picture. They would not accept the Birthday coupon bcs it was a Sunday. I requested green tea ice cream....the waitress brought vanilla and stated she hoped that was ok, they were out of green tea.....so what, we no longer get to pick from the other options, seriously. I was so incredibly dissatisfied with this visit, I may not go back. I always give this restaurant 5 stars but this was horrible. Waitress also brought my teenager a child cup and then charged me for a second glass when she needed a refill.
Restaurant is not kid friendly for parents with children in strollers. A front staff should remain at the front desk at all times. The outdoor elevator for wheel chairs did not work so, I advised the front desk staff and she left and did not return. We than had to carry the stoller down a flight of stairs. The isles are not wide enough for strollers.
Menu was Benihana standard hibachi cuisine. Food was good, service was excellent and chef prepared food with typical Benihana flair. The dining was greatly enhanced by the beauty of the restaurant with views of its riverside location. An important caveat, RESERVATIONS ARE A MUST. We have eaten at many Benihana locations for its many years of existence but we were amazed at the popularity of this location especially at this time of year.
We love this restaurant. However, when one makes a reservation for a specific time, one should not have to wait, which we did, as we took up the whole table anyway, not sharing it with other customers. It should have been ready for us; we were there on time. The food was cooked to each persons request and the soft shell crab was delicious. The chef could have had more personality, as isn't that what Benihana is all about? Not much interaction with the seven of us; two of them children.
We didn't get sack into all over a half an hour after our reservation please felt rushed towards the end of the night and in the beginning they clearly didn't have enough staff to cover the volume it was disappointing as we are taking our daughter there for a special occasion everything was just average or below
Food was Great everyone in the party loved what they ordered. We expected more of a SHOW while he was making our lunch. But, it didn't happen. Maybe lunch time they don't give the pizazz, I have seen at other locations. First time doing lunch, but kinda expected for the price.
No one ordered from the 'Lunch Menu'.
Was a really fun night out with the girlfriend. The cooks are so talented, you really do get dinner and a show. Our waitress was so sweet. I would recommend to anyone to get the birthday 30 dollar voucher. We got Teriyaki steak and chicken. She got 3 orders of the fried rice and we both got two orders of the steamed rice (of course we shared), and it only came out to 28 bucks. It's so worth it. The food is amazing. The garlic butter on the rice is great. But even without it, the rice is amazing.
