Would never return here. The food was terrible, the service even worse and the place was really dirty. To top it all off after awful food and poor service and watching the chef clean the stove while we ate (he was literally there the whole time we tried to eat cleaning the stove), one of the servers started scraping leftovers onto one plate right at our table. We were beyond disgusted. I actually got up and left and waited in the car. I don't even do that at home, let alone when you're in a paid restaurant!!! It's also quite pricey for the amount of food you get. Do not go here if you have allergies. We told them multiple times that we had a sesame allergy and they still brought sesame sauce and gave it. Would not eat here again if it was free!! One of the worst meals we have ever had.
Wait time was more than 2 hours even we arrived 30 min before our reservation time
Waited one hour to be seated and my appointment was for 7:30
On Mothers Day we had a reservation at 6:45 pm for 4 people. When we arrived at 6:55, my 16 and 14 year old got out of the car to go inside and check in and I tried to find a parking because it was very busy. When I went inside the restaurant, it was extremely crowded and my kids were still in line to let them know that we were there. When I got to the restaurant hostess, she told us that we were 1 minute late and she couldn’t give us a table. When I tried to explain, that while I was parking, my kids were already inside the restaurant, trying to be polite and standing in line, to get to her desk. She was extremely rude and kept saying that we were 1 minute late ( they give you 15 minutes past your reservation time to keep your booking). We got to her desk at 7:01 pm. Just 1 minute past that time. We had no choice but to leave the restaurant on Mother’s Day, very upset and disappointed.
Wasn’t able to dine, had a reservation and waited 50 minutes, before hearing it was going to be another 20-25, and decided to leave. The parking lot was a nightmare.
Mother's Day Lunch was very full. Reservations were a must to get a table! Little delay in getting seated because of the amount of people and need to organize chefs with the teppanyaki tables. Food and show was amazing, quick, and great tasting. I'll probably return for normal meals b/c it was way too crowded and loud.
Our chef Zach was not entertaining at all.
He was however VERY nice.
But he lacked energy and was too slow cooking our food. By the time we got to our steak.....we ate all of the food cooked before that because we ALL (the entire table) was so hungry!
The food itself was not tasteful....
My rice was crunchy and over cooked and my lobster tail was too.
Zach was not sanitary at all, his work station was not cleaned enough after each cooked food.
He even forgot to remove the Kerosene used to light the onion behind on the grill when he left.
He also forgot to cook and order of chicken for one of the customers.
It's like his mind was some place else other then Benihana.
We looked to the other tables chef for our entertainment and clapped!
I hope thing get better for Zach because he was nice.
No point having a reservation you will wait 30-45 min after your reservation.
This restaurant SHOULD NOT TAKE RESERVATIONS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HONOR THEM!!!! We made a reservation for 8:45pm. When we arrived 5 minutes before our reservation there was a line of at least 30 people waiting to be seated. They tell us they are running 30-40 minutes behind. A woman standing near me says she hasn’t been seated for a 7:30 reservation (its 9pm at this point).
Opentable should really remove them - at least on weekends - because they overbook. We waited for almost 1.5hrs for our table. The front of house staff was polite but COMPLETELY INEPT AT THEIR JOBS. They told us “5-10minutes longer” every 30 minutes. It was maddening and we only stayed because at that point nothing else would be open.
Though I been here on several occasions the food is delicious, thne wait can bed very long and cause the guests to be restless. Making reservations doesn't help the situation cause they still make you wait over an hour.
Had appointment at 8:15pm and sitted at 10:10pm and finish dinner at 12:10am.
Really poor customer traffic management and customer service.
I would NOT recommend this place to anyone! They DO NOT CARE if you HAVE a reservation. They have a superior attitude and make NO apologies for not honoring your scheduled time.
I never write reviews because I couldn’t be bothered, but my family and I took my 79 year old mother on the eve of Mother’s Day. The place was PACKED.
We arrived 45 minutes early as we had driven in from NYC, to pick up my mother (and made sure not to be late). It was freezing in the waiting area- very drafty due to the entrance door constantly being open etc..and not closing properly.
Since it was SO packed, and we were really early, I wanted to make sure they would be able to honor our reservation before commiting to waiting 45 minutes.
The hostess said, she would try to seat us early but she couldn’t guarantee .. I told her, we don’t need to be seated early, but asked if they would be ABLE to seat us at our reserved time, because my mother is older and has difficulty walking etc.. and if they couldn’t accommodate our reservation we would simply leave.
She said YES, DEFINITELY, we will be able to seat you at 7:30. So we waited the 45 minutes.. we’ll, guess what 7:30 came. I asked the hostess if we could be seated. “No, I’m sorry m’am, but we are very busy and there are a lot of people ahead of you. She could not tell me when she’d be able to seat us..
NEVER again will I go to beninhana. They simply don’t care. And, I’m sure they won’t care that we aren’t returning 😊
They did not honor our reservation. Arrived before our reserved time and they told us the wait would be over 25 minutes after when our reservation was for. Hostess offered no apology
We had a 7:00 reservation and weren't seated until 7:50. The cook didn't come to the table
until 8:35 by that time our grandkids were very uptight. The food was good and the manager did give us something off the check but it didn't make up for the inconvenience. I would not recommend going.
Had a 6:45 reservation and wasn’t seated until 7:30. Very frustrating.
The filet mignon did not have much taste. The kids enjoyed the show.
I had a amazing experience at benihana as a first timer i was very confused on how everything worked but all of the employees made it a very good first time
We always go on for our birthdays. My 2 children love it there. We have 10 years of photos that Benihana took on their birthday. That didn’t happen this time - no photo - no image in the silly Benihana paper frame. I was disappointed
Made reservations with open table for 9:15 we (Wife and I) arrived at 9pm to locked doors!.. A female cook that works in the front of the restaurant rudely told us “they were closed” I asked for a manager and showed him the reservation for 9:15 he replied “If you would have gotten here at 9:00 that was the last seating “ I said well it’s 9:06 (I arrived at 9:00 it took me about 6mins to get through the red tape)and my “reservation” was for 9:15..End result no Benihana..Def gonna shop around for A new favorite hibachi restaurant
HAD TO WAIT ALMOST 1 HOUR TO BE SEATED EVEN WITH A RESERVATION. THEN ANOTHER 30 min BEFORE CHEF CAME.
THIS WAS OUR SECOND ATTEMPT TO EAT HERE. LAST TIME WITHOUT A RESERVATION THE WAIT WAS SO LONG WE GAVE UP.
TRY ANOTHER PLACE ITS NOT WORTH USING 3 HOURS FOR THIS.
They make you sit with people you don’t know. Witch is very annoying because most of the time they will get messed up with the food and get fed up with the cheff. And they might start talcking to you or be very maleducate. So Benihana you should step up you’re game and not have people dit with other people they don’t now. Because no body wants a buissness dinner or birthday dinner with somebody you don’t know. Because they will start singing to you and will think that sconce they are at you’re table they can have a picece of cake. So don’t make people sit at tables with other people.
Avoid this place that has lost all its glory with inexperienced people cooking for you.
I have come to Benihana in previous occasions and I can see the service, quality and tradition is decaying to terrible levels.
They assigned us an awful inexperienced cook (certainly not a chef) with no knowledge or tepanyaki skill.
Food was all burnt, too high temp on the grill. Rice was burnt, then the bad cooking continued for more burned flavor on the chicken, shrimp and meat. The vegetables where practically mashed due the overcooking and sticking to the grill.
Will not recommend to anyone.
We used to enjoy this restaurant but our last visit was poor from start to finish. The hostess was not helpful, the waiter had long and dirty finger nails and the chef didn't seem to care that the egg shells were every where in the fried rice. Also, the filet mignon portions were smaller then usual. There was no manager walking around and nobody to talk to about current situation. Unfortunately we will need to find another hibatchi restaurant in our area.
This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. It took over 2 hours from start to finish to have a hibachi dinner! 1.5 hours were just waiting for everything; server, drinks, chef, food. It seems it was the trend that night because numerous people complained and were waiting a minimum of 45 mins.
The manager didn’t give a damn, no apologies, no table visits, no sense of urgency or care. This was suppose to be my bday dinner, I never even got my bday song or photo that comes with being a chef table member. Never ever go to this place unless you have nothing but time on your hands and not the least bit hungry.
Brought my family from India to watch the show and to see how they make great tasting food....great experience but could have been much better but seems like they cut out a lot of things! Family had an awesome time but I remember the chefs doing more interactive things with kids!
We were kept waiting for one hour past our reservation time. Then we waited for an undue amount of time for a chef. The waitress was rushed and rude. The soup was dishwater and the food mediocre. I have eaten at Benihana many times and this was disappointing. They clearly booked far too many reservations and could not handle the volume.
Waited 45 min for a table with reservations. Then they squeezed us with another family of 8. So 10 people for a table meant for 8 people
The reservation process was as expected - we were seated for hibachi in a reasonable amount of time. Our chef was lackluster, to put it mildly. He barely said 2 words the entire time, seemed to be half asleep, just going through the motions. Not once did he try to interact with the people at our table. People go to hibachi for the show. This show was disappointing.
Reservation not honored. Long wait to be seated. Then heard someone complain that they had been seated and hadn’t had a server come to them in an hour. Disaster! Left and had to find another place to eat, which is next to impossible on a Saturday night with kids. Do not go here. Ever.
Went to Benihana for my birthday. Started off with a delicious cocktail - Haiku Colada. My husband had Rocky’s Choice (hibachi steak and chicken breast)
and I had the Deluxe Treat (filet mignon and lobster tail). Both dinners came with Benihana onion soup, salad, hibachi shrimp appetizer and hibachi veggies.
Everything was delicious! Since it was my birthday, they sang happy birthday in Japanese and brought me ice cream for desert. It was a fun evening!
Birthday Celebration. Amazing as always!
Restaurant was way overcommitted with reservations. They seated us a full 40 minutes after our reservation time. Others with our same reservation time were even later.
Front desk was a mess. They literally had 3 different handwritten stacks of paper they were using to manage reservations and checkin.
Once seated, it was the typical Benihana experience. Which includes, at this location, being totally impossible to get drink refills (or more water) after your initial order. I finally got water as they served dessert.
The place was dirty. The bathroom was unkept. The area leading into the bathroom needed to be vacuumed. The food was not good. Chicken was dry. Yakisoba noodles no taste. I wouldnot come back. The service was good however.
My kids love it. I don’t. The only thing I love is the mustard sauce. I never find any entree whose main ingredient I find has high quality.
We had made a reservation for my twins birthday. The wait was 45 minutes w a reservation which is unacceptable.
We waited 45 minutes to be seated, even though we had a reservation. Chef took way too long to come.
Nice place, good hibachi food, sushi was not that good . Long wait even with reservation , the place was packed very popular bday destination ...
High quality ingredients and a happy place to be. Our 9 year old son said "This is the most fun night!"
