   Horrible experience. We came for our son’s 5th birthday. Waited from 6:45-7:15 without even being waited on to order a drink. We only saw one table being served by a chef and 5 tables waiting, when we inquired how many chefs they had that evening, we were told 4. We left because it was clear we would be waiting to eat for hours with 2 small children.

   We went there during the week so, it was not bananas. Our server was amazing and very attentive! The soup came out lukewarm, the portions were okay. The filet was definitely not the best cut of meat for the price. I’ve been to other local places that are much more entertaining, food quality is much better and the show at the table was a bit more enthusiastic.

   My reservation for 6:45 pm was useless. I waited for 35 minutes to be seated, which is tough when you have a young child as I do. The noise level was insane. The food is mediocre and expensive for what it is. I won’t be running back anytime soon.

   I have dined here for 25 years but never for lunch. Although the fantastic dinner menu is available, lunch portions are less expensive. Filet Mignon and hibachi chicken were prepared exactly as requested and the fun show had a few new twists. A 10!!!

   We had a reservation for 7:45. They clearly overbooked themselves. We were not seated till around 8:20. Our cook didn’t start cooking until 9pm. Drinks soup salad took a long time to arrive. Your prices went up and portions way down! I ordered filet mignon. It didn’t even come out as a whole steak. It was pre cubed in a bag according to our chef. I was served one slice of zucchini. Some onions and mushrooms with my steak a small amount. Hibachi is known to have large portions and this was far from it. I was very surprised at the poor overall experience.

   Worse experience with Chef Charlie. He slammed the rice tray on the table because he was upset that the order on the receipt was incorrect — and he did this right in front of a manager. His aggressive behavior scared the four children at our table, as well as some of the adults. This behavior is completely unacceptable. This is actually my second bad experience with Chef Charlie at this same location (the last one was a few years ago). In my opinion, he should NOT be allowed to interact with customers. Throughout the night, he was visibly irritated and kept going back and forth with the guests — even accusing them of screaming at him, which absolutely did not happen. We were all looking at each other, confused and very nervous. It was not a fun experience, and honestly, I lost my appetite. Chef Charlie is extremely unprofessional and nasty. I am a regular at Benihana and have always had wonderful experiences — except with him. He is the only chef I’ve ever encountered there with such unacceptable behavior.
