Our past 2 visits at this location have been just OK. Seems like we have to wait a really long time for a chef. It was close to 1 1/2 hours before our chef came to our table to start our meal. There were multiple issues with our ticket - some miscommunication between our waiter / chef / kitchen and so delivery of our dishes (friend rice, entrees, etc.) was sort of weird with longer gaps between the different parts so that we could enjoy things somewhat together instead of one food group at a time. All of our chairs were about to fall apart and the floor was pretty dirty - I noticed this about 3 months ago when we were there too. Based on our last experience, when my daughter asked for Benihana for her b-day I sort of cringed and, unfortunately, it was about the exact same experience again. We still enjoy the food, maybe we just need to try a different location.
We arrived 5 minutes early and weren't seated until the rest of table arrived 20 minutes later. After we were seated we were taken care of by Morgan who was sweet and friendly. Our chef was Caleb who filled in soon after taking care of another table since they were short staffed that day. It appeared as though several staff members were doing double duty that day. The food was excellent, and we were well entertained. Apart from the poor host treatment, the lapse in staff and service, and no offer of any apology or amends, we had a fun meal. I'm hoping the next time we try Benihana's again, the other problems will be in check.
It took a long time for our food and then we had to wait even longer to get change, but the food is great
Enjoyed my birthday dinner at the hibachi table. We like the little performance the chef puts on as he cooks the food. The onion soup and salad with ginger dressing was delicious as was the shrimp appetizer. For the entree I had the colossal shrimp, steamed rice, along with saute zucchini and onions. They use to give you lo mein and fried rice which they no longer give with dinner but you can get the fried rice at an additional cost. My husband had the scallops which were also yummy. Dessert was green tea ice cream and the staff gather to sing happy birthday in English and then in Japanese. For a fun dining experience I recommend Benihana.
Always enjoy our visit. we come back every year to celebrate birthdays
Meh. Mediocre all around.
They didn’t open the doors until after 11:45am and they were supposed to open at 11:30am. There were a bunch of us outside waiting to get in. Our table was sat first and the 2 tables next to us had their food start before us. If it was just my husband and I, it wouldn’t have been a big deal but we had our young son with us. We made the reservation time to work with his nap time. It was frustrating because by the time they started our food, 45 minutes after being seated, our son was cranky! And rightfully so!
Food needed more seasoning. Portions were small. Menu was small.
We got one of the best chefs at Benihana his name is Roberto and he cooked everything to perfection. The chicken was very good and the steaks were awesome. I've never had the zucchini taste so good. The performance was very memorable for somebody that's been going to Benihana's for 30 years plus
We’ve been to Benihana’s a number of times throughout the years. Unfortunately, this location has really taken a turn for the worst. The manager and host staff was so unprofessional it was almost painful to watch. The chairs were dirty and uneven and the carpet smelled old and dirty. This location needs serious help to be great again. The food as always was amazing. Really the only thing going for this place. I think with the right management, staff and attention to detail this place could turn around.
Our server and cook were exceptional. Wish all servers and cook would be as good. Server name is John and cook was Freddy.
Had a reservation but still had to wait about 10 minutes. Service was excellent. Had a server in training with a veteran server. Both were excellent. Cook was Caleb - best chef ever! I love Benihana!
Meh. They cooked in front of you...end of entertainment. Food was fine, but not worth the money.
It was absolutely perfect!! The chef was awesome I can't remember his name but it was his first night bag and 6 months and he was awesome food was great and our server was very upbeat I believe her name was Andy.
The food did not have very much flavor to it, it was very bland.
My wife and I celebrated my birthday at Benihana in N Scottsdale and we had a truly great time! I felt like a kid again . Great tasting food and a fun show! We'll be back!
It took 65 minutes for the chef to come to our table after we were seated at the tepenyaki table. Second time in a row that we were told they had a chef issue and insufficient number of chefs to handle all the tables.
The hostess staff was not helpful and they looked annoyed. The server couldn’t handle serving two tables at a time so we were left without items like forks and napkins. The chef was nice but some of the food was over salty and over cooked, like the chicken and rice.
The manager asked how things were and we said “okay” and she just repeated the word and moved on.
MELINDA IS THE BEST
WE LOVE THE STEAK AND SHRIMP ALSO THE CHICKEN FRIED RICE
Waiter was attentive and friendly. Memorable as usual. Wish there was a benihana in the West valley
Very loud! Kids running around. Patrons yelling from one table to the next. Waited an hour to start the food. Then was rushed while eating. Floor looked dirty.
Excellent and very professional services!!! 😊😊😊
We made reservations and still sat and waited 35 min before we were seated so don’t understand the point of making reservations and wasn’t acknowledged at all.. horrible service
I forgot to pick up my receipt from the table. I requested a copy thru email and have not gotten it back. Can you help please?
Very nice food an amazing chef but the waiters disappear forever and you have to ask for somebody else's help every 25minutes. the birthday wasn't as special as I thought it would be
Great experience, BeniHana never disappoints, 1st time ever went was about 20 yrs ago, always enjoyable and delicious. Our 'singing manager' was great, all in all fun afternoon for my girls and girlfriend on her birthday.
Good food prepared in a fun way to have dinner with friends. Some of the chefs are good and some loads of fun. We had a great one the other night.
I really would like you to check your phone system out. I called of two seperate occassions for reservations and couldn't get through. I reported it once when I came in to make the reservations then in person and the second time two weeks later it still didn't work. You call in hear all the info abouat hours of operation etc. then finally push the button for reservations it rings no one answers and it returns to the hours of operations etc. and goes through that all over . This is a pain so then this time I went on line to open table to make the reservation.
We had a great time. Our Chef cracked lots of jokes and tolerated our kids poor jokes.
Benihana has definitely changed over the years. Neither the food or the service were as good as it used to be.
Chef & Servers were great! However, we ordered the regular dinner menu items and received the same amount of veggies as everyone else who ordered off the lunch menu - and it was a very small amount compared to past experiences. Extremely disappointed in this.
Have you cut back portions to a meager amount or did we not get what we ordered?
Great overall experience. Very pleased with dinner and menu options
We have enjoyed celebrating special family events at this location for the past 12 years. We have alway loved Benihana. Last night will be our last time. The service was lacking, the steak was full of fat, the chicken was over cooked and the chef talked so much we could not talk to each other. We will not be spending our money here any longer. Very Disappointed.
Food and table service was good. Restaurant was loud. Hostess/Reception was rude and unfriendly. Restrooms were very dirty and lacking TP. First time there, wasn't impressed and won't go back.
The food and overall experience was great! It was a great way to celebrate my birthday with my family. Thank you!
It was fun. 4 year old daughter loved it. She loved the hat and the food show.
We RSVP for 4pm, got there nobody was around. Had to stop one of the guys that was working there going to the restroom. He went to back to get someone and 10 mins later the host came out she did not greet us or acknowledge us at all. (Very rude) Then another guest came in they went straight to the host (she was on the comp) asked for seats. Then more guests came in she took care of them (they all waited to be seated) then the host came up to us, apologized and seated everybody. I was already annoyed. For a high end teppanyaki restaurant food was ok kind of bland and service was alright. I had better service and food was better at other places.
Not too bad. Good experience. Food was not as good as I thought it would. Quality of the food doesn’t match the price.
So we checked in at 745 didn't get served till 830 and ate at 10pm the service was horrible our server forgot our drinks twice then didn't refill our drink for an hour as well as the chef told cheesy jokes the whole time and then by the time we got our chicken our steak was cold the mushrooms were burnt and I only got 2 small pieces of shrimp this was on Valentine's day with my husband by the time our meal was over it was 1045pm and still hungry and upset would not return
We were running behind and was about 30 mins late to our reservation. It was a rainy night and coming from Avondale, so I called to notify we were running late. They assured me that everything is ok dint worry drive safe. Upon arrival, they took us right in. It was stress free experience for being Valentine's day. Great food and drinks.
