Benihana - Schaumburg Ratings and Reviews
The food was absolutely delicious as always!! The server could have been way better but luckily her coworkers helped our table out. This has been the 1st time that the server was bad, we’ve visited this location many times before and have had a great experiences.
We went here on New Years Eve with the kids as we have been to the Lombard location several times and loved it, but they were booked solid. While the food was good we were so rushed it was completely disappointing. The server forgot my chicken in my steak/chicken combo order and it was delivered after everything was already done. He forgot the fried rice the other diners at our table ordered as well. The entire dinner show was rushed and was gone through so fast it was not enjoyable. Once our server took our order I hardly saw him. The food was good - the saving grace of the night, but we expected better treatment for a NYE dinner and spending $200 on dinner. Will not go back to this location again and would not recommend it. I wanted to complain to the manager that night, but he was busy with another complaint from another diner and I didn't want to wait - I relayed our disappointment to the hostess.
My group of 7 were seated realivally on time. The cook did a good job entertaining the kids and preparing the food. However, he forgot to cook the meat for one of my guests till almost after everyone was done. The waitress was nice and friendly but very slow and didn’t come around nearly enough.
Very disappointed in the food and service on NYE. Defiantly did not get what you paid for that night. We had a table full of kids and out cook hardly did anything fun for them. Also did not get the hibachi shrimp appetizers that were included in the meal. For the price of the dinner you should get everything included. The veggies are now also just 5 pieces of zucchini and a plate full of onion. Felt like they skimped on everything. Very disappointed. Have a large party for February, but will try another location.
Our food was very good but on the other hand the service seemed VERY rushed. We were
looking forward to enjoying the show with our chef but every thing happened way too fast. Our appetiser were served with our entree, then the chef was cooking before the salad or soup was even tried Had looked forward to bringing the grandkids for the experance but we were disappointed with the service.
We love Benihana and we’re wxcited to have our Christmas dinner there. The food was great, but I feel they were understaffed. We sat at the table for almost 20 minutes before our drink orders were even taken, then an additional 15 before our food orders were taken. Overall we were there for over 2 hours with LOTS of waiting.
Food was a little over cooked but overall the chef did a good job. We were sat with an interesting group that brought the experience down a several levels as they were rude and loud - constantly asking for butter, extra rice, extra shrimp and sauces WHILE he was making the food, ultimately distracting him and probably why the food was over cooked. His cart was lacking some of the ingredients and the chef left the table while he was cooking to retrieve rice. If the wait staff was around they may have been able to step in and control the chaos it but they only showed up when everything was done.
We go to Benihana every Christmas Eve and we have had many positive experiences. We really appreciate how the entire team works to make it a special occasion for all their guests. I do want to say that our service this time, Valentin, was way above average: simply excellent at making sure we were cared. He had a warm friendly approach and was very witty a well. Gang on to him!
Chef called himself "Johnny" not his real name as we were joking around with him.. Great Personality and he did a tremendous job with the group. Food and flair were fantastic. team was very accommodating for late arrivals due to weather..
We go to Benihana probably once every month or so. There are food choices for everyone: steak, shrimp, scallops, tuna, noodles, sushi, etc. We had chef Kyle this particular night and I must say that the food was deliciously cooked. Steak and shrimp was on point/very flavorful, my spider roll was crisp to my liking, and my vegetables were nicely charred. Service was a little lacking as I had to keep reminding our server to refill my drink but it was a good night overall.
We had a great time. The chef was very entertaining and the food was fabulous. The server was a little rushed and not very attentive as she did not speak great English so very hard to understand. We had went for my 8 year olds birthday and the kids loved it. I would for sure go back.
Service was ok. Waitress took forever to bring the soup which may not have been her fault as there was another set of people at our table who seemed to have been somewhat “picky”. Then after the soup arrived, it appears some of the orders were incorrect and the waitress was forced to bring an additional order. Of course that delayed the arrival of the salad. So by the time the chef arrived it was already well over 40/50 minutes after we initially sat down. The chef however, was amazing and the food very tasty.
I did find the drinks very expensive. I ordered a mojito not realizing it was almost $10.00. Imagine my shock when the bill arrived and 2 mojitos were almost $20.00.
