   We had a great experience at the Santa Anita branch. It’s hit or miss usually. Depends on the cook and your server. Tonight both were on point. Good fun table. Chris was the cook. Did a great job. My wife and daughter had the Benihana trio and I had the Seafood Diablo.

   Was my first time going to Benihana‘s great experience my kids love the show. Food was excellent.

   Going on Valentine’s Day was probably a mistake. It was busy and we got seated with 6 other people and it was extremely crowded. Ruined the experience for sure. The shrimp and veggies were a bit too charred for my liking. Steak was phenomenal though. Overall, I did not enjoy my experience. It is a hit or miss at this Benihana’s and tonight was a miss.

   They were way way way overbooked. We waited for over an hour for our reservation. Everyone was lovely but don’t go on a weekend.

   Reservations don’t seem to make a difference After 45 minutes waiting - we inquired and were told that’s normal, make your reservation 30-45 earlier and call ahead….WTF?! AFTER being upset about that, Des the chef and Hana the server made up for it…. Food and Service were great! The presentation and skill of Des with the attention Hana provided has me with breathing down the 45 min wait :) update: Would you show where I may have read your resv system? Just so others don’t “misunderstand?

   I’ve had a few experiences at this Benihana, and unfortunately, they seem to be consistently overbooked. My recent reservation was for 8 PM, but we weren’t seated until 9 PM, and our meal didn’t arrive until 9:40 PM. This has happened before, and I believe it’s important for the restaurant to address this issue. While I understand that some customers may linger at their tables, it seems that the core problem lies in the overbooking. I hope the management can find a solution to improve the dining experience for everyone. ---

    Reservation was for 5:30 but chef didn’t arrive until 6:50. We were told we can’t do dinela menu unless we sat at the bar area, which it wasn’t noted anywhere… why would we dine there to sit at the bar? They ultimately let us order the dinela menu. We added some additional a La carte items. We were charged $10 extra per add on (on top of what it said on the menu) because they said ordered dinela. They did not tell us when we ordered and found out when we got the check. Wasn’t the typical Dinela experience that we enjoyed at other restaurants.
