My experience today at Bennihana was disappointing. I surprised my cousin with special needs for her birthday dinner to Bennihanas thinking, at the end she would be sung happy birthday to, Instead we got rushed off and just served ice cream and the people and management didn't care. Just 😢. I even put it was a birthday celebration on my reservations and still nothing.

Got there on time, waited over an hour to get seated, then waited another 45mins for the chef to show up. Food was good, but it is way over priced for what you get. Will mot be going back, plenty of other options in the area.

Probably just an off day, but service was a little rough after the initial engagement. The chef also flung rice on me and three other guest unintentionally. Although it was funny, definitely not a great first impression for my wife to experience. Either way it was an ok experience, just not the typical experience for what I’m paying for.

We had to wait over half an hour beyond our reservation time because they had overbooked themselves and were behind at seating parties. After being seated we continued to wait to get served. It was overall very slow. Our reservation was at 8:45, we didn’t get seated till 9:20. Then the chef didn’t come to our table until 10:30! We sat there waiting hungry for over an hour. Then the food was way too salty and we had to ask him to put less salt. Even then it was still salty. Overall a bad experience.

Apparently they have a policy corporate policy where they double book the reservations. I had a 6:30 reservation and had to wait an hour. Maybe don’t double book around an occasion like Mother’s Day or charge a fee up front so people will have incentive to cancel if they don’t show up.

Service was slow, food was mediocre. Quality went down since the last time I’ve dined there. The chef was entertaining hence the extra star from a 2 to 3

I think our chef was doing this for the first time. He was super confused, got our orders wrong, over-peppered and overcooked some food and undercooked other food. He didn’t even know how to handle knives properly so cutting meat and chopping vegetables proved difficult for him (the chicken was shredded and the shrimp was cut into little tiny pieces for some reason.) A girl at our table ordered yakisoba which she didn’t get until everyone else was finished eating. He cooked the food one piece at a time so it took FOREVER which might not have been so bad except there was Zero entertainment. Zero. He tried to do the onion volcano thing but couldn’t even stack the onion rings so he gave up and lit the whole thing on fire instead. Nothing else. Well except when he asked if we wanted to see a butterfly and proceeded to toss some butter on the grill. Butter. Fly. Other tables are marveling at knife spinning, fire stunts, light effects, funny tricks, laughing, cheering etc and our chef kept asking us how our day was. $180 for 2 bored teenagers and one poor mom. People don’t go here for the mediocre food. They come for the entertainment. We got none of that. Our chef was very pleasant and I get that people have to learn but not at the customer’s expense. He should have been accompanied by a more seasoned chef (pun intended) to guide him. Also, we had a 6:45pm reservation. We weren’t seated until around 7:45pm. Will NOT be returning.
