I made a reservation for 6:45. I told the host my group needed to be out by 8:10. My group arrived on time though we were not seated until 7:00. Around 7:25, our orders were taken. At 7:30, we received soup and salad....then nothing more. At 7:45, we asked if the cook was coming to the table. We were told in a few minutes. At 7:50, we left the restaurant. It appears they were short staffed so we didn't eat.

We have been coming to Benihana for literally decades. We love the food and the atmosphere. The prices are high but you are paying for an experience which is fun! However, this past Sunday, we were seated with the table filled and sat for an hour waiting for the chef to come to our table. That was far too long. It would have gone a long way if there were to have comped a drink or an appetizer but no such accommodation was made. That did not set well with us.

Our chef Freddy was fabulous and very entertaining. His skills were outstanding and his food was perfect. Alina, our server was amazing and she was so attentive to our table and the other guests we were very satisfied to have her. Overall the night was very enjoyable and delicious!

I noticed there seemed to be more people packed in at each table. There were 3 kids including a baby plus 7 adults at ONE table! That’s 10 total people at our table. The chef was new and slow and was deep in conversation with the kids and wasn’t paying much attention to the grill. Hot oil splattered on my arm when he threw the butter on the food. He never noticed but the people at the table did. They saw me jump and wipe my arm. I understand how more people equals more money and maximizing revenue, but it could come at a cost for returning customers. There were 5 adults in my party and three of them got Lobster. We spent over $400 for dinner and the friends that were with me won’t go back to Benihana’s. The service was very good and I don’t want to take that away from them.

We started being seated at 7:10pm and ended finishing dining at 9:30pm. Servers gave us wrong orders, no time for us at all. Took my 10 year old who wanted to take photo, but never showed up. Way to ruin a 10 year olds dining experience

My bf and I love coming here and we usually have a good time. We did as well last night except we wanted to come for happy hour and they didn’t specify that happy hour is only in the bar area. We ended up spending a lot more than we had planned so that was a bummer.

2nd time here - not sure I would come back. They just try to get you in and out fast - too fast. The gimmick of cooking is tired and old. Way overpriced for what it is. It was supposed to come also with dessert - none was offered. Not a fan.
