Chef was poor at entertaining. No tricks, just slapped his spatula and also failed at the volcano. He was terrible at cooking my steak. He barely used oil so the food did not get seared on the skin, making the steak look like it was cooked in the microwave. Not that it matters much but this guy was cooking with his gut hanging on the hibachi. I'm suprised he didnt get hurt.

We love the lunch menu at Benihana's. Our cook, Angel, was excellent. Friendly, funny, nice and the food was excellent. I love the scallops for lunch!

I've always enjoyed going to Benihana, for the dining "experience." We don't come often. But when we do go, it is for a special occasion.

I'm sorry to report that I didn't love the food or the experience. As for the food, I really don't want to consume a mass amount of rice before my "protein" course (i.e., chicken, shrimp and/or beef), but that is what you get. The rice bowl comes after a small soup and salad, and it is very, very filling. Honestly, it was rice, egg, a lot of salt, and "garlic butter," so nothing nutritional in that course. Because it was filling, I barely touched my chicken. I ordered chicken and mushrooms and there were barely any mushrooms on my plate. Honestly, this is NOT a healthy dinner . ..
As for the experience, it was okay. Our chef made the same jokes as the chef at the table next to ours made . . . That is part of the fun of coming to this restaurant.

It is expensive. I was surprised by our bill. Also, the portions aren't huge for what you pay. Again, it's the table-side experience. This time, so-so.

A fun place to celebrate a birthday! Seems like most people there were celebrating birthdays. Benihana needs to change their name Birthdayhana! ;)

I’ve been here many times and I love the food. The wine list is good, too

I personally do not like having a reservation then once at the restaurant getting a beeper and told that there would be a wait. A 10-15 minute wait at lunchtime when there were open tables seems unnecessary.
