Benihana - San Diego
Took my son or his 14th birthday because he loves this place. I took my family who has never been there before and the chef Edwin was amazing made the experience superb!!! Food is great of course!
Amazing experience every time I go! The food is always excellent quality!
Everything was excellent, food , service
Congratulations to our cooker Conner Thomas Rdz
Yes I will recommend Benihana’s
Food was delicious as usual
Way too many screaming kids. Food is ok. Heavy on the salt and garlic.
Happy Birthday to me I love Benihana 💜💜💜
My first time here. Food and service were outstanding. Enjoyed the chef !
Food very good and service excellent
Niko was a great server. Loved our chef Santiago
great meal, great server, great chef. will be back soon with the rest of the family
We went for a friends birthday and I expected a little treat for her
This was among the best Benihana experiences we’ve had. Food was outstanding and was the presentation. We shared the chateaubriand which was more than enough for two. The fried rice was great also.
First timer here ! I loved it !!! Definitely going back
Loved it!!! Celebrated my birthday! We will definitely be back
This is a fun restaurant for special occasion. An abundance of food, chef was personable. Highly recommend reservations m, as they get busy.
We loved Tyrone the chef! He was lots of fun and put on a great show!!
I love Benihana and came to celebrate my birthday just me and my boyfriend. Best service I have ever received at a restaurant. I think pure luck but also the service was on top of it! We got a whole table to ourselves that felt like VIP! I also know this is very rare at Benihana so it was more special I think due to other parties being big and it was just me and boyfriend they let us have the table. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet, very memorable Birthday (:
Waited more than 30min to be seated. Food was excellent. Chef was fun and wonderful. Waiters were perfect as well..
Great atmosphere and a great place to celebrate any special occasion
My wife and I both had the Hibachi Chicken and it was really great.
An excellent evening, my first time in a Benihana. The food preparer and the food itself were thoroughly enjoyable. Pricey, I thought, for a regular dinner out, but not too much for a special occasion. There were only two negatives: 1) There was a thin greasy film on our plates, so dish washing protocols need either adjusted or better adhered to, and 2) the birthday offer of $30 off, if signed up for online with less than 24 hours until the birthday dinner, will not be processed and approved in time to print out the certificate with barcode which is required to receive the discount on your bill at the restaurant. If receiving the offered discount factors into your decision to pick Benihana for dinner, you need to either sign up farther in advance, or consider going elsewhere. Mine was not processed in time, and though I showed our server the offer printout, it was a preliminary, “ in process” certificate that did not contain a barcode, and we were not allowed the discount on our bill.
Experience was great. The servers and the chef was amazing. The chef was able to get the whole table to laugh and interact with his performance.
We didn’t get an option for a fork until we asked. I had to ask twice for a salt shaker. We never got the tea that came with the five course meal and I only realized it after we got home. The smoke was blowing on one direction and my guest’s eyes were bright red when we left. He dealt with it not to ruin the birthday celebration we were there for. Not a great experience this time but it has always been good in the past.
Birthday at lunch was a great idea.
Our reservation was at 3pm, we didn’t get seated until 3:25, no one came to table until 3:40, cook didn’t show up until 4:25pm. We were rushed thru the “presentation” because we were on a hurry after the 1.5 hour delay. Manager said it was their fault.
Terrible experience, they set us by the kitchen door. It was very loud with the dishwashing staff making a ton of noise and staff banging back and forth through the door. Twice the chefs pushing their carts back into the kitchen hit the back of our chairs and did not bother to say excuse me or anything. This is the worst dinner I've ever had at Benihana's.
Great restaurant, great food, the chef, the server, everything excellent!!!
Great place to eat. We spent a nice time with the chef
Always a good time! Definitely will be back again.
Great for families. Our chef was sociable and skilled. Some moments of wait throughout the whole experience but it was a busy night (for a Tuesday/school night, wow).
Hostess added to our original reservation. Our Server, Bridget , and chef were phenomenal. Always a great time. Thank you.
We were there to celebrate our birthday and received quality service and had a lot of fun with our Chef Ricky!
Waitress offered good customer service. I didn't realize how crammed the space is for Teppanyaki. Unfortunately the table next to us had a few drunk customers, in particular one gentleman, but it was enough to make it for a negative experience for all the neighboring tables, due to him being extremely loud, and insensitive to other guests dining experience. Our waitress did let the manager know, but not sure if he was able to handle it with the chef of the other table, who was entertaining the table. Our chef just basically cooked, didn't seem to go out of her way to entertain the table, but did her job by just cooking, no extra magic.
Isaac made our birthday dinner amazing! He went above and beyond, I try to come here at least once or twice a month whether it be for hibachi or not and let me tell you... the last time I had a great chef here was a long time ago! But Isaac made it funny and memorable. Customer service was on point and our food was delicious. His tricks weren’t boring and he definitely fought the energy out of the entire table. He is my new favorite chef that I will be requesting every time I come here now.
Benihana's cheated me I got there early for my reservation and sat at the sushi bar for happy hour ordered a California roll on happy hour price for $4 they called us to go to the table waiter said he'd send the check up to the table instead of waiting to have to pay at the bar so when we got the bill it was for full price almost $8 for the California roll I didn't think this was fair so maybe the next time we're at Benihana's we just won't leave a tip that should even it out what do you think
Just did not like the fact that I left a tip and it was little under the suggestion and waitress came to me as I walked out door asked for more. I’m tip them on how felt the service was. We had ask for everything and if chef spoke to us we had no clue what he was saying cause it was way to loud in there.
It's always a great experience to eat here. Best part is watching my family enjoy the chefs performance. Always get a different chef and it's great. They each are unique and make the experience feel like the first time.
Slightly pricy, but if you came just to eat you will be surprised, the skills of cooking in front of you is well worth it.
Very busy for a Tuesday night! Great crowd, great food, great service.
Isaac was amazing! My family and I came here for my younger brothers birthday and all I can say is wow!! Isaac was amazing and so entertaining! Food tasted excellent and he absolutely knew what he was doing!!! Definitely recommend him
