Benihana - Salt Lake City Ratings and Reviews
Despite making a reservation, we still waited a bit. They were packed, though, so I guess that happens. Our chef was okay, but nothing special. The food wasn't as good as I remembered it. Drink service was a bit slow for what we paid.
We'd still go again, and it was super busy and a Friday night.....it was just okay. The photo they took of my son for his birthday and the sundae at the end was a nice touch. The staff was very nice overall.
Each time I go to Salt Lake's Benihana, I question why I did it again. I feel like Benihana SL is going down hill. Our server was obnoxious and didn't even know the Japanese names of common sushi. He didn't know that Bombay Saphire was Gin... Our chef had about as much charisma as a wet noodle and my daughter's shrimp dish had about 1/2 as much shrimp as usual. They forgot the corn on the kids' dishes also. The cocktail and wine prices were insanely priced and overall, things just don't seem as good as they used to be. It is always super sweaty and hot with NO ventilation. I think we are going to pick some other places for our special celebrations! We have always been champions of Benihana in the past, but I'm seriously disappointed.
location a bit outdated and could use some sprucing up. Staff keep the energy up which was good. It's not a place I would consider going back to unless was another birthday. Food was good, service was good. Not sure much else to say about it. They validate parking.
Food was great restruant was clean. We will definitely go again sometime. The Chef was amazing he had an upbeat personality I felt bad for all the other tables that didnt get him.
My only complaint was the charge for the fried rice. It was appreared to be included with the meal. We were asked if we wanted sreamed or fried. Once we got the bill our party of 3 was charged about $15 more for that. I feel like for fried rice that wasn't stellar was way over priced. It would have been nice to see additional charge on the menu as well.
Our family always has a great time at Benihana's. The children and grand children love the atmosphere and the show that the chef always puts on. The food is fresh, cooked perfectly and the conversation is always wonderful because of the seating and the atmosphere provided by Benihana's . This is a regular for all of our family.
The open table next to ours was so noisy with adults and kids screaming and talking very loud that our dining experience was the worst in years! Why in the world would Benihana's management allow such behavior? Two different couples who were seated at our table asked to be moved. If only our party would have done the same, perhaps we might of been able to have a conversation. My partner seated next to me was unable to converse with me!! We kept hoping they would leave, but they stayed on and on after all the dishes were removed. Again,
why would management not asked them to PLEASE keep the noise down? So, not only was the noise ridiculous but then we had to pay an enormous sum for our dinner. Benihana's has lost our future business and we will be sure to pass on our dining experience with everyone we know. But on the bright side, Benihana's will get to host the same or similar group of noisy, inconsiderate people again and again because they didn't ask them to quiet down. Gosh, they may have gotten their "feelings" hurt. Never mind our ridiculous expensive dining experience.
When they seated us ask for a bottle of wine he said what kind I ask for a sweet wine I wasn’t sure if I want to Chardonnay or any other kind of wine I just wanted a sweet wine and I depended on him to help me find it but he shrugged me off as if I was a burden after the chef came out and started making the food it was only me and my girlfriend but he decided to make a third plate I thought that they would give me the third plate after I was done But he went on to say that the chef needed to eat too but I didn’t understand that because I had pay for the full meal so it was like I was being taken advantage of if I paid for a full meal I expect to have a leftover stew when I leave then after the rude customer service he expected to tip and took out his percentage I told him I didn’t want to tip him Because of the rude service but I ended up leaving six dollars Ive eatin there before but I’ve never had a bad experience until this time
My wife and I have been to multiple Benihana locations across the country, and although our experience at the SLC location has not always been the absolute best, this past occasion was one of our favorites. The service, led by Maria, was spectacular. Maria was friendly and helpful. Also, our chef was the best we ever had. Steve was entertaining and humorous, but most of all, a talented chef. Our food was the most delicious we have ever had at Benihana. Will be back soon!
We celebrated my birthday and it was such a fun experience. This time it was just my husband and me. Last time we had 11 family members. Each visit was equally fun, entertaining and the food was delicious. I had scallops, shrimp and lobster this time. The lobster was cooked the best ever as were the scallops. Shrimp was pretty good as well. My husband had a big steak that was cooked exactly as he requested. The generous portions were enough to take half home for the next evening. Our server and chef were great. Chef did some tricks we hadn't seen before. The server even took our photo to mark the occasion and it is a pretty good photo.
Our service was great. Everyone was very helpful the food was really done to perfection. We will come again.Everyone was very helpful my husband is handicapped and they made sure he was well taken care of. They even let him use the elevator which was great. Thank you
