Benihana - Puente Hills Ratings and Reviews
We celebrated a birthday. The Chef was great and entertaining, but the front desk was rude no point in making a reservation because you have to wait when you get there anyway. Servers were very nice but took way to long to come to your table after you are seated and don't come thirsty because it's hard to get a refill. Food is tasty.
Four of us enjoyed the Teppanyaki style meal of Steak, Shrimp and Scallops. Everyone enjoyed the food prep show and the food. It was a good time by all. We caught up with our friends and even stayed about 30 minutes longer and just chatted. It couldn’t have been a nicer evening.
The ladies and I had a great time after to work......reservation was for 3:30 p. m..........we had the restaurant to ourselves. The chef was great entertainment, and the food was delicious. There was three of us for reservation 2 out of the three had been to Benihana.............our co-worker who had never been to Benihana had a great time........................
We have a Benihana's less than 5 miles form the house but will drive to Puente Hills as it is the best Benihana's I have been at including the one in Beverly Hills. This time Carlos was our chef. He was very entertaining and the food he prepared was delicious.
Chef we got assigned looked upset (or maybe tired), but definitely not in the best mood. He missed some tricks we usually like to see and did not do much for having food properly cooked.
We had a reservation but, we had to wait almost an hour for having a table.
Sashimi is synonymous with Japanese cuisine and their sashimi appetizer disappointed
on a major scale despite our complaint to the waitress who did nothing about it. The teppan
chicken and steak were all right, but would only consider returning for the table-side food
Food, portions & chef were all awesome as usual. However, my wife and I went with my birthday certificate right when dinner hour began. Restaurant not busy, but happy birthday was not sung to me, nor was a birthday photo offered. Maybe they stopped doing both? I went with my daughter in September and both were done for her.
This was a birthday celebration. The chef forgot to cook my Hibachi Chicken altogether. He was packing up and leaving when we reminded him and told him to just forget it since everyone else had eaten. We complained that the ginger sauce does not taste like it always has. The chef seemed to "throw" the food on the plates. We asked for the manager and when he came we discussed our complaints. He insisted that the ginger sauce had not changed and would not take our word for it. The most he could say was he was sorry. Very bad service overall except for one (busboy?) who did everything he could to help. When it came time for the bill, they had not taken the Hibachi Chicken off and we had to send it back.
Our chef was great, Hauro, he kept us very intertained and was so funny! He and chef Art who was behind him they were great togther our table as well as the other table were all smiles and laughing!!! Our server Bernice on the other had was horrible! Took forever with the drinks then forgot our soups, thankful for the young man who was off the clock and still went and made us our soup and brought it out and refilled the tables drinks because we had not seen our server!!! He even did it with a smile! We were charged for 4 sides of hibachi rice when our rockys point came with rice, there should had been just a upgrade charge or we should had still been given the rice our meal came with since we did pay for the meal!!! It was my Birthday meal, our server didn't sing, no candle and no picture our ice cream look like they cut it with a knife and threw a little piece in the bowl, not like the little ball all the other tables received!!! My bill came and she did not even ask for the certificate I told her we had in the beginning, then we had to wait for her to get a manager to adjust it and let us know why we were charged for 4 sides of rice when she had called it an up grade! At this time my husband was so irritated and let's just say the rest of date night was no fun!
Service was horrible, she never checked in on us. Didn’t remove an item off the check like she was suppose to... the chef was really nice, but she expressed she was new her food was under cooked...although she was sweet and transparent with her experience, we the consumer should not have to be Guinea pig for the expensive price of the food
Worst experience ever! Made a reservation 2days in at advance for my dad's bday, we got there 7pm to check in reservation was set for 730.. We didn't get a call back till 842 that our table was ready!!! I would never ever recommend this place! Worst service and the hoste was the biggest B with an attitude
We had a funny and engaging chef. Unfortunately he did not have a name tag so I didn't catch his name. The on site Mgr was there when we left (Sat for lunch) and he pointed us in the direction of where the chef was so we tipped him on the side. Kudos to this chef for making us laugh. Oh, he's from Michigan :)
Mario was our chef for the evening, and we ABSOLUTELY loved his performance, personality and his overall service. We would definitely go back, and request to have him as our chef.
Thank you for a wonderful experience, and tasty food.
We loved the complimentary photo. We celebrated our one year anniversary. So, thank you.
Have been going to this benihanas since I was 9 and I am in my late 30’s now. I find this one to be the best! Fun, the chefs are fun, and the food is delicious. My only complaint though it happens rarely is being seated next to people who aren’t fun or make the table awkward but over all I love this place.
Worst experience I’ve had with a restaurant, totally unacceptable management. Came here to celebrate my husbands birthday, finally had a night off of work and it was useless. Made a reservation online and was approved, show up and there was about 20 individuals in the lobby waiting to be seated, I checked in for my reservation at 8pm for two only to find out I have to wait. I was okay with it I mean how long would It be if it was already 8pm. 10-15 Minutes later I go for an estimate on my waiting time, come to find out I have another 5 reservations before me that they have to sit. I’m sorrt but what exactly is the point I’m making a reservation if they clearly don’t go by it, if they were fully booked why not remove that time frame off their site like every other Benihana around the area did. It was very disappointing. Now it’s about to be 8:30pm no food in our stomachs, trying to find a different location to dine at with short notice, unfortunately it’s too late to make any reservations elsewhere so my husbands birthday dinner at Benihana turned into a burger joint. Truly disappointed with the service I was provide with, to have a manager stand there and not show any interest or concern for the customers is infuriating. If you have tables open and a huge group of people standing it would be out of courtesy to ask those individuals who have already had their food respectfully to leave and give the others a chance to dine. No that was out of the question because they rather have those individuals sit there then have the others eat based on their reservation times.
Service was great, chef Rincón was awesome and engaging. The food was marvelous! Everything was delicious. The bathrooms however, were not very clean. Toilet paper all over the floors, floors were so sticky our shoes got stuck, no soap and counters were all wet and dirty. Aside from the bathroom everything else was great.
