This is my go to Benihanas and to my surprise it was empty. I had not been in a while but noticed its very run down. There was plastic vents in the section we sat in. Food was ok not flavorful as usual. Our waiter was great very attentive. I feel for the price it needs to be a little more taken care of.

No customer service from the waiter to the chef. This was my bday dinner and the chef didn’t do any special tricks or give me any extra food. He hardly put any garlic butter on my food and was annoyed every time I would ask for some. I would not recommend anyone to give this location any business. It’s a shame because I really want to give them another chance.

Sat where there was obvious construction. They took over 45min just to get our first course to us.

Michael our waiter was wonderful, so friendly and genuinely kind. Also our chef Eric was exceptional as well, he was not only a great cook but he was also a genuinely kind and friendly person. Thank you for the wonderful service and delicious dinner! XO, Dorothy

Benihana is our family special occasion restaurant, and we dine at this location or the one in Anaheim many times a year. This location in Rowland Heights is always hit or miss for us, and yesterday was a big miss. We dined at opening time because we wanted to avoid a crowd and thought service may be better when it's not as busy. Our server did not appear to be happy to be there, and was very slow in serving us and refilling beverages throughout the meai. Our chef did not engage at all and never smiled the entire time. Iced tea was undrinkable (maybe because it was the first batch of the day?) and the replacement diet coke was flat. There were no cherries for a shirley temple and apparently you have been "out of them for awhile". Little things, but it was just one little thing after another. There were egg shells in our chicken fried rice, the chef didn't seem to care about the shells when he was cracking the eggs and made a limited effort to clean them off of the grill. It's the first time ever that I didn't eat all of my rice (it's my favorite part) because the egg shell crunch was very noticable. The soup was lukewarm, at best when it came out, and overall the food was mediocre considering the chef was cooking it right in front of us. Disappointing especially when you charge $24.95 for a kids meal for lunch. We spent over $150 for 3 people and even the ice cream tasted like it was frozen, melted and re-frozen again. We could not even eat it. When a 9 year old takes a bite and doesn't want it, you know you have not met or exceeded expecations. Not a good experience,and I'm not sure if/when we will come back to this location.

Reservation was not honored. We arrived early and were informed of a delay, which was fine. The issue for us arose when we saw larger groups that arrived after us and had later reservations being seated first to fill the tables. We were given gift cards for our troubles, which we would have gladly exchanged for better service. Bean sprouts were also removed from the veggies that are provided and the chef didn’t dice the vegetables up like before. Our family loves tepenyaki, but will just frequent other similar restaurants

This place has gone downhill. The service was not good. Our food was not cooked to our liking/burnt. The server was rushing and forgetting things.

It seems from the start its not ok, the soup was salty, the chef was messy, sme food lew to our cups, the seafood was overcooked and burnt , even the mushroom was birnt, the suchini was half one one side is grilled but not the otherside. thr sauces came in fter the food was cookd, the rice wasns't served until we asked for it in the and were half ay in our meal. Just not worth the price of the meal.
