Benihana - Puente Hills Ratings and Reviews
The food is great and the chef was very friendly and engaging. The only complaints I have are that I was seated about an hour late from my reservation. Further, I had requested an adults table only and the hostess directing me to the table didn't seem to have knowledge of my request, so I had to wait even longer. With that said, the chef and the people at the table made me forget about the hiccups and I enjoyed the dining experience.
Benihana always has good food, but the entertainment is hit-or-miss. The chef wasn't bad, but didn't go out of his way to make my son feel special on his birthday. My wife has a wheat allergy, so her food had to be cooked in the kitchen but she didn't get it until we were almost finished with ours. This made her feel rushed.
I was very disappointed with some of the aspects. The grill was dirty and I informed the waitress but wasn’t cleaned. The chef was not friendly at all! I brought my disabled son and expected a show but he did nothing except made a volcano. I was not impress. I’m so sorry.
It was the first time for my kids to eat there and my thirteen-year-old suggested that we go there more often at least once a week so overall it was impressing to the family and the food was five star great place I will suggest this to anyone at anytime of the day
I did make reservation on line thru open table on a Tuesday 5:30 pm, got checked in didn’t get seated til almost 6. Once seated our chef didn’t come to our table til about 6:45, so even though we were seated we still had to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes before our food was even started and prepared. We left the building at 8:30. I enjoyed the food but didn’t like the wait 3 hours for dinner is way too long. I would return maybe for lunch
Celebrated a birthday and restaurant staff was aware and didn’t sing happy birthday to my daughter . Very disappointed w the waiter , he forget our drink order , spilled my wine on grill and water on my daughters arm . Didn’t clear our table when appetizers were finished . Very disappointed with the service .
Reservation was at 9 pm didn’t get sat until 9:40pm. Once sat no one came over until 9:55. The manager finally came over and said that there was an error and a server was not assigned to our table. It took an additional 20 minutes for him to bring out our soup and then 10 minutes after that to get our salad. Appetizer came when our salad came even tho we put it in with our drinks. Service was extremely slow and unsatisfactory.
I went with my family and friends to celebrate my birthday and made reservations for 6:15; I got there at 5:45pm. The hostess told me to let them know when my party was all their which we did at 6:00 p.m. My reservation time passed and I kept asking them when we would be seated. They told me once our table was cleared which was about 6:45. Soon after being seated, a chief came to our table, started laying out the round sauce containers and dropped them. He cut himself on the broken containers and left never to be seen again. The shards of broken ceramic remained on the floor. We then began or wait for service. Our waitress was slow and took forever to bring us anything. We told her as soon as we placed our orders how we wanted the bill broken up- there were 9 of us and I told her at least 3 different times how to break the bill up. Everyone got a meal including 2 kids meals. We sat there for the next hour waiting for our food. All of the orders should have included soup and salad but the waitress only brought salad for the 2 kids meals, which she never asked whether or not we wanted soup or salad for the kids meals. When our chef finally showed up around 7:40, we mention to him that we hadn't gotten salads and he had his manager bring us salads. When he started prepping for our meals, he didn't mention either kids meal. When we asked him about it he said he didn't even have the prep for them and he left the grill to go and get the prep. So we sat there for the next 45 minutes getting our food and having to ask the waitress whenever we possibly saw her to refill or drinks and bring us things like napkins. When she finally came back at the end of the meal she never even mentioned my birthday even though I gave her my coupon at the beginning of the meal. I even had to ask her to bring us ice cream that is part of the meal. I go at least 3 to 4 times a year to benihana's and this was the worst customer service experience I have ever had.
Poor customer services! The staff needs better training. We waitited 20 min before being helped and then another 30 to wait for food that never came, eventually after such a long wait we decided to leave the items were removed from our bill since the food never made it to the table. Waste of time!
Favorite spot usually have a better experience with Latino chefs then the Asian ones. Food is great prices can be expensive but experience is worth it for special occasions. Steak and seafood with sushi rolls on the menu with other options as well. Make sure you make a reservation Andy just wish they would speed up the bringing the bill and receipt.
Service was not acwe had a rather unpleasant experience at this restaurant. First, we wait 30 minutes even with reservation. That is alright since it was Christmas. We ordered an appetizer but it never came. We asked the waitress twice. Both time she only said she would check on it, no apology. It was food serving time when the manager came to check on us. I guessed he expected good words from us. Well, I told him about the appetizer, he said he would check on it but no apology again. Since the main course was almost ready, there was no need to have the appetizer anymore. We cancelled the order. The manager said that he would cancel it and walked away. He never showed any professional manner like to say sorry to us or offer something to make it up for our inconvenience. His attitude was even worse than the waitress. For a restaurant like your caliber and the money you charge, the service should have been a lot better than this and on your bill, you expected the guests to pay 18-22% of service charge which I did not agree. The filet Mignon was too tough also to add insult to injury. We have had dinners at this restaurant many times but this was the worst one that we had experienced. I am not sure if I would come back unless someone from your restaurant make sincere amend.ceptable.
It took a long time to be seated. 5pm reservations. Seated at 5:37pm. It was Christmas Day, so it was crowded and the hostess was doing her best. Just come patient and anticipate a wait. The table next to ours was so loud with continuous raucous laughter that it disturbed our table, but once they began eating, they calmed down. The family that sat at our table was a delightful group. Ruben was an excellent chef. Alicia was amazing and worked very hard. She did a stellar job at keeping our water glasses full, and that was important to me. She really made an extra effort to get her job done so well.
Went with out of own guests for xmas dinner celebration. Everything was great. It was Dec 23rd so a little crowded but we had a reservation and waited a few minutes. Always enjoy time in the bar with Dave the bartender so wait was fine. Service & food were great as usual and even though we did not celebrate a birthday they gave us two family photos. Always enjoy our visits to Puente Hills Benihana
