Went with a group of friends. Our server seemed very eager to get us out of there from start to finish. We felt rushed. There was no one else waiting for our table or anyone near us. And, it was only 9:00 ish when we finished eating. The food was just ok. I had to put soy sauce on my fried rice - never had to do that at a hibachi restaurant before. So overall, it could’ve been better.
Service was horrible. Waitress barely attended to us. We constantly had to put our dirty trays on an empty table next to us and track her down for everything from utensils to water. Chef was entertaining but got order wrong although did make up for it by cooking what I ordered. Enough food for 1 dish to serve 2 people. Enjoyed that a salad and soup and Ice cream came with $40 meal. A bit over priced. No privacy. So At a table with strangers n no option otherwise. FYI, there is a $30 coupon if it's ur birthday & sign up for their emails... wish we would've known that beforehand.
This place is nothing special whatsoever. If you live for eating onions you might enjoy this place, but otherwise we were not impressed. This place is entirely hibachi for those that aren’t aware. Like most hibachis they serve soup, salad, hibachi veggies, then the meat selection that you choose. The starter was onion soup, then salad with onion flavored dressing, then the hibachi veggies were zucchini and a plate full of fried onions. At every other hibachi there is a selection of mixed veggies, not a plate full of onions. Then on top of all the onions already served, the fried rice was full of onion as well. Needless to say unless you’re an connoisseur this place may not be for you. Go to a non-chain hibachi for a much better experience. I recommend Kome in center valley which is excellent.
Food was horrible. Staff was rude. Quality of food was not great. I recently visited Kabuto Hibachi and had better food, super friendly staff and the quality surpass that of Benihanna hands down. So if your looking for Hibachi, next time try Kabuto Hibachi just a few minutes from Plymouth Meeting Mall. You won't regret it.
Benihana gets less authentic with each passing day. Most of the hibachi chefs can barely do those little tricks we used to enjoy. Now they just make some noise with the utensils and make an onion volcano. For this we paid $65 per person for tough “filet mignon” , fried rice , and vegetables that are served separately so that the vegetables are either gone or cold when the protein portion is done. If you’re going to serve cheap chain food prepared by short order cooks, it should be priced accordingly. Food is tasty but not worth the prices they charge now.
Extremely disappointing to say the least.
Great meal, as ever. Good food for the whole family, and and great entertainment!
I booked a reservation for 4 pm. I explicitly booked two adults and 1 high chair. We were not seated until 415 pm. Our food order wasn't taken until 445 pm. The chef didn't come to our table until 5 pm. It was too much lag time and would have preferred if the restaurant told us the reservation should have been at 430 at the earliest.
We sat in the bar area, and out waiter johnattan was excellent. And they accommodated me with adding to my reservation. Thx had a ball
This place was absolutely amazing. We went there for Valentine's Day and we had the "holiday menu." I got the six course meal, although they forgot to give me and my date the ice cream or sherbet. Overall it was a lovely dinner. I plan on coming here very, very often.
Food was great girl at front desk was rude told female manager she did nothing
Such a fun table!
Very good food, service was a little slow but they were very busy. Great meal overall.
We went to celebrate husband/father’s birthday. Turns out the 4 people we shared a table with were celebrating a birthday too.
A good time was had by all.
The food was not authentic at all and extremely overpriced. The server was ok but our chef had no talent and over peppered all of our food.
We arrived at 3pm was seated at 3:05 and was told by the server at 3:10 that we could not order lunch! We were celebrated my fathers 74th birthday and so we stayed and paid dinner prices.
First time there
Look forward to going again
Very enjoyable dining
Waiter was efficient but disinterested. One year old seated beside us was cute but noisy. Food was very tasty but lukewarm. We were seated in the “lounge” area of the restaurant and both ordered the filet mignon and chicken combo 6 course meal. The soup was lukewarm. The salad was OK. The shrimp appetizer arrived on the plate with our entree and sides. Both steaks had a few “nasty bits” but the flavor was really good. Unfortunately the main plate items were again just lukewarm. No tea was ever offered. My ice cream was served in a bowl clearly fresh from the dish washer, in other words melted on the bottom. Not a great overall experience.
Wonderful celebration with husband kids and grandkid
Everything about the dinner went exceptionally well. From the cocktail to the entree. Outstanding! The birthday guy enjoyed every bit of his celebration! And he wanted to know when were we coming back!!! Thank you!
Wonderful place 5 and 6 course meals worth the money not that expensive meals under 35 great wonderful entertainment chefs are awesome
I find this restaurant meets all of my food standards - each course succeeds and the quality is what I want. I would eat here more often if my family budget was greater!
Chef was nice and funny. Seating on time . Service was good and food was excelkent
First time dining and was great ? Wish there was one where I live
Great dining experience
Good to get out and eat for the evening. Calm and pleasant.
We have dinner at Benihana's several times a year. Chefs are amazing and the food was very good. Highly recommend this restaurant!
We’ve been going to Benihana for 5+ years. They recently decided to change their zucchini servings to one mix of the onions AND the zucchini, however, I hate onions and didn’t know of this new idea they do. This was a real surprise and a real bummer.
We had a birthday celebration but why do you ask when you don’t give something?????
I was really disappointed in my visit to Benihana, as were my friends I went with. I've been to quite a few Hibachi restaurants and this was extremely below my expectations. The food was quite expensive for being so bland. There was no flavor, the chicken was chewy and didn't taste fresh, and the waitress got our order wrong. It was a New Years Day dinner and overall I was not happy at all.
Overall, the experience was good. My family enjoyed it and it was reasonably priced. The restaurant and chefs were less clean than I would like, but it was a very busy night.
Great food and service. Nice atmosphere .........................Xxxx
We went for an early dinner with friends. Food and service was great. We sat near rear and it was cold, could feel a breeze coming in. All around a good experience.
Place is terrible! Stay away. Food is gross and atmosphere is loud and obnoxious
Great fun. Kids loved it (4 & 7) and the chef put on a great show to entertain them. A bit expensive but lots of good food and kids menu was a bargain.
Great as usual! My husband and I are regulars! Love the Land and Sea!
Everything was great!
Host insisted we could only order off of the Holiday Menu, which was mostly seafood and meat combination dinners. When I showed him the print in the Holiday Menu that stated "regular menu available upon request" I was told I could only have one for my party of five. I am not a seafood eater, my daughter is a vegetarian, It was near impossible to order chicken only hibachi and vegetable fried rice. The chef spoke very minimal incoherent English. His fingernails were filthy. We did not receive the green tea that I paid for. $160 plus tip later for the five of us, Worst decision ever for a Special Christmas Dinner.
Family Event for Christmas Eve. Lots of fun for all ages.
They chef was great and his food was amazing. He was extremely pleasant a great combination to have with upfront service.
