My wife and I have been to Benihana a few times and always enjoyed the food and service. We were surprised, therefore, at the lack of attention and the dramatically increased price. Benihana used to be a place I recommended people go for a fun evening. Now, I cannot.
I love coming here never a disappointment. Food is good and everyone is nice and pleasant.
We specifically mentioned it is 1) our 1st time & 2) a special occasion, with the hopes that restaurant would attempt to consider that. They did not, and we were seated at the farthest back-back table, facing the exit door. Ocean’s Treasure was a gem for me, non-meat eater; our choice to share it was not accommodated, however, which Was preposterous I admittedly felt envious of the other couple we were seated with’s veggie fried rice. Brown rice is available, though not losted on menu. Alcohol consumption is encouraged (classic up-selling), but my signature margarita was not delicious. Vegetarian sushi was phenomenal, though the fried veggie (blankig on the style name...) appetizer was just unglorified onion rings. That all being said, Benihana’s is the real treasure! I think it’s definitely a great experience to share with anyone, frankly, and hope that the management may become more cognizant, when there are “notes.” And remember that it may be any customers 1st time. Don’t let the shticks fade. Give the Maestros name tags. Offer picture-taking, as is clearly encouraged at other locations, after having seen the website. Chopsticks 🥢 could be Benihana-branded, and “keepable...” or sellable! But I digress; thanks to Open table, for asking!
Benihana is our go-to place for an amazing night out. It is a bit of a drive for us, but it is totally worth it. The food is amazing and we always go home satisfied.
Ugh! Never again will I go here. The food was so incredibly bland. They don't tell you they're going to upcharge you for brown or chicken fried rice - they just make it seem like an option. I've just never had such unflavorful hibachi cuisine - I was shocked. The server was OK - I guess she was trying. Also think you should ban cell phones from the hibachi tables - 6 out of the 8 people at our table were on them - one of them actually even talking loudly - so much so that it took away from the whole experience. But really - it was the bad food that will keep me from returning.
Food was very small in portion and super over priced not worth the value finish my plate in about 12 minutes.
I like the show and preparation of the meal right at the table. However, I do not recommend having a party of just 4 like we had or else you get seated with strangers. Some people might like that, but I like just being with the people I invited.
The bartender sold us on happy hour specials and then told us happy hour had ended after making the drinks. $20 later for 2 drinks, we went to our table. A sushi roll was forgotten and the floors generally were sticky. It was an unfortunate experience for the celebration we were hoping to have.
Great food, friendly staff and guests. Highly recommend!
Broken air conditioning on a 90+ day - very sticky (carpeted floors) - dirty bathrooms - server slowwwwww! Not my first time going there but def won’t be going back! Going down hill
Everything was great except that we were a party of 2 and were sat with a family of 6, grands, parents and small children. Probably better to come with your own group instead of being sat with other groups.
Still love Benihana, but the service has declined dramatically.
I went during happy hour and the waitress told me I could order from the bar and bring it back to the table. Then the bartender told me I couldn’t. Then the waitress had to go ask the manager if it was ok, she agreed. The bartender was sooo mad. Like it not that serious it was only a $2 difference for a $100 bill
Pricing was very high compared to other Hibachi restaurants and the meal was too spread out. They basically served you each part of your plate 1 part at a time which oddly spaced out the items instead of combining their flavors. Also, there was a $4 surcharge to upgrade your white rice to fried? Fried rice is standard everywhere else.
Had an early dinner at 5 PM. Staff was wonderful and also catered toward our little one, which made her very happy. Food was phenomenal!
We go there for every birthday and try to go to each Benihana in every city we visit
Benihana a fun place for Hibachi show and food.
if you have young children (11 or under) you may want to warn them when the chef starts to build up the volcano from onion slices that there will be a large fire. Sometimes children get frightened when they see that for the first time. A little notice ahead of time would probably help as it is fun to watch as long as the child understands what is happening.
We found the shrimp and everything, but the chicken, to be delicious. Found the hibachi chicken to be very tough, did not eat it, took it home, then threw it out.
My birthday dinner was amazing!!! I just wish that I actually received the $30 birthday certificate that was promised. Almost a week later and I have yet to receive it.
Food and service was great as always!
Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive!1
It was the worst ...my son received his rice after all his food was done..l will never return back there...
Don't think I'll return on a holiday again.
Went to Benihana for fathers day with my husband and children. the food, service, and show was great. the only thing i could really said would be this not to great for younger children 10 and under, my little guys preferably would have had chicken nuggets:) overall it was still a great outing with family. the kids menu should really be geared towards small children with basic food groups( nuggets, fries, burgers Etc.
Always enjoy coming here. Brought my dad for father's day. He enjoyed the experience and food.
Food was great. Dinner is a little pricey even for children. Kids loved it
We usually enjoy Benihana’s but this time not so much. First the waiter was very unprofessional (yawning while taking our orders). She also rang up our orders incorrectly that when the cook came it was very confusing. Steam rice was brought out to table before the cook even got there and way before the meals were even started . So by the time the meat was cooked, the rice was very cold and not enjoyable as a meal. Prior to beginning, we stressed that one in our party was vegan however what he ordered was cooked while touching chicken that was on the grill instead of it being away from it. We had to stress that to the cook several times. Unfortunately, overall this visit was not enjoyable.
945p reservation. No problem with the front staff. Overall, I was pretty disappointed. None of us had been to Benihana which is considered the pinnacle hibachi experience. Our chef was pleasant but really didn’t give us an “experience”. We could tell he was rushing. There wasn’t any humor or fun, just cooking to get it done. He also forgot to cook half my order, and serviced us in the incorrect order. Our waiter did notice and did rectify the issue. I was was supposed to have ice cream with my order which at the point, I saw no point to bringing it up.
This was my first time.. the overall experience was nice but way too slow.. Im not interested in returning.
Very nice dinner with family for my daughters graduation. Everyone had a nice time. Our chef Andrew was great and entertaining. Very good meal!
Been here many times always terrific.
We were at a large table & then 5 blacks sat down.
I went to say HELLO & the 3 adults put their backs towards us.
They got on their cell phones til their food came Then looked every way 'cept at us.
The waitress, a young black woman, saw us sitting at the empty table & waited on the other 5 while we sat. & watched Had to ask her for tea, water, she did nothing on her own
My friend still left a 20% tip..I would have left next to nothing..service poor.
When the 5 left, they walked away..we were invisible.
That never happened here before & many times people of color sat w/us & we all talked & laughed.
This crowd was ignorant & ruined our meal.
Love the show! Went out with friends really enjoyed the food and service!
Overall everything was very good. The entertainment value wasn't anywhere as good as I remember it from years ago. Would I go again? Maybe. Probably not. It is fun if it you haf nevet been therw before.
I didn't think that the food was seasoned, and the chef may have possibly been new but he was very hard to understand and food took an extremely long amount of time to prepare. We had the chicken fried rice was and it was really over cooked and hard because it had sat on the grill for so long. The steak had no flavor or seasoning added so it was really bland. The server brought out everything back to back(sushi, salad, soup) and due to space and the chef started cooking we ended up not being able to enjoy those items.
Favorite place for my granddaughters. People are always so nice to them.
Good food/good venue
It's Benihana. It's pretty much what you would expect. There were a lot of loud families. Not somewhere to go if you want a romantic date night. But the staff is wonderful and the food was good as always.
Food was good and made quick
We were seated with a teenage girl birthday party which was very uncomfortable.
Great drinks and fun time with a group - plus the food is always delicious
If you have never gone to Benihana, it’s certainly an experience everyone should try at least once.
The food is excellent and watching these skilled chefs prepared it in front of you on the hibachi grill is certainly entertaining. I cannot recall a time that I have had a bad meal at a Benihana. The meets are always tender and the vegetables are always fresh.
If you are a party of 2 be prepared to share a table with strangers. I hibachi table sits between 8 to 10 people and small parties get put together around hibachi grill. The atmosphere is loud because you have the chef banging and clanging his spatula and other equipment Plus the exhaust fan which is on while he’s cooking.
The chef prepares a little show for you in stacking up onions and making a volcano and making it a train and that’s where the show gets repetitive but then perhaps maybe it’s the same show At all Benihana.
Always a fun show and dinner for annual birthday
Went for Mother’s Day and while the Chef was very kind and did a great job the food was over priced for no reason. The server who gets the drinks... was matter of fact and did nothing to deserve a tip although we still gave one. He took the ordered and messed it all up and I asked for shrimp fried rice they literally give you 2 shrimp. They said they have had many complaints about this. On my opinion Hibachi restaurant is better.
