Waited at least 15 mins with reservations, the place needs a serious overhaul of cleanliness- don’t look up while waiting. The food was good- staff seemed confused and unorganized… as much as the food was good I kept thinking about the layers of dirt on lights, windows and vents above.
Food was great and seasoned unlike other hibachis where all the food tastes like oil and soy sauce. Long wait to get to our table
Seated after reservation time and then still had to wait a long time for service. Once served the food and service was excellent.
The head chef was great!! Both the food and his demeanor was very enjoyable and spot on.
Great food and a fun atmosphere.
Perfect to celebrate graduation
it was terrible. whole management should be fired. we waited for almost 2 hours to even be seated. no one came and asked us for drinks. completely understaffed and unprofessional.
While the overall experience was fair, the food was really good, as it always has been with having it cooked right in front. The concerns were the wait time. When I made the reservation on open table I was limited to 2 times to choose and I’m sure that is due to opening restrictions and staffing. We arrived on time for our reservation and waited 25 minutes for our server to deliver water and ask if we wanted drinks. It was then another 20 minutes before returning with water and drinks. From there the pace picked up and the salad and soup was delivered and the chef appeared quickly behind that with the cart for cooking orders. Overall this was a 2 hour experience which would have been made much better by an acknowledgement that we were seated and delivery of beverages and most importantly an explanation that the chef would be over at a certain time.
A great time for all of us. A wonderful place for a small special celebration!
The restaurant didn’t seem very clean. The restroom stalls (3) had toilet paper on the floor and seems as thought they had not been cleaned at all. I decided to wait until I got home because of the conditions of the restrooms. Trash cans were filled to capacity with trash falling to the floor. This was the worst I have ever seen it at the Plymouth Meeting location. I’ve decided to go back to the Cherry Hill location moving forward.
Very disappointed in the food. Is Ben 10 years since last going to a Benihana chain restaurant and have always loved it. My wife and I drove 2 hours for our 16 year anniversary go to dislocation and couldn't have been more disappointed. The food was not a Japanese hibachi flavor at all. Done very bland with steak, scallops, shrimp and chicken. They no longer use soy sauce or ginger sauces when cooking. Everything was very bland and dry. Even the fried rice. Not the quality we remember or the recipes.
The floor (which was carpet) was alarmingly sticky. My shoes kept getting stuck and it became difficult to lift my feet. Service was soooo slow and it was overpriced.
Go eat its good and fast again go eat its good and fast
Had a great time there. The server was great. The chef Saeed was the absolute best!
Waited one hour for chef to begin preparing meal. Chef was pleasant and entertaining. Family had reservations for 8:00 pm and chef didn’t start until 9:00
Ordered sushi. Any grocery sushi will be better that theirs.
The food was excellent, as always. The service was attentive, but very slow. We realize, this is due to them not being able to hire enough help , since the government is paying more for them to stay home.
The service was very slow and many mistakes in our order. Hoping
Food was amazing, The scallops made my night lol I'd suggest scallops and chicken fried rice :)
Our waitress was super nice. She made my birthday dinner experience special. I think her name was Lena.
Seated fast. Cook Mohammed was outstanding and listened closely to our needs
My first visit at Benihana after the pandemic. The service was good, Andrea was attentive. The food was only okay. The sauces were weird and food kind of overcooked. I will give it a try before totally counting the restaurant out.
The server Mike was pleasant and attentive. Our chef Marquis was very talented. They both made this a very enjoyable experience.
Our server was very personable and accommodating. The food was tasty. Our soup was luke warm but that was not an issue. Due to COVID-19, they are using QR codes to view the menu. My phone did not have the app, but a physical menu was provided. Keep this in mind, partiulary for the elderly. Overall it was a good experience.
Showed up 15mins late , the host did not give us a hard time we were seated right away .. the food was amazing the drinks were perfect .. will definitely be returning
Taj was awesome he made some great recommendations he also helped making my cousins birthday an awesome one
Aji ( the chef I believe that was his name ) he was great the two together are an awesome team
I had an 8 o’clock reservation I got there a few minutes before 8 and didn’t get seated until around 8:20-8:30. After being seated the cook didn’t come out until 30 minutes later
Great cook great service great atmosphere will return again
The wait time was horrible and our order was put in incorrectly our reservation time was for 3p, we got there at 250p, we were seated at 315p and our chef didn't get to us until 400p, we had a movie planned for 415p and didn't get there until 445p.
Service was abysmally slow or just forgotten at sever points, e.g., kids waiting for milk, having to wait for straws, 20 minutes from end of food until server returned for desert order. For the price of the drinks, I had the prickly pear margarhita and my son said they 'did you wrong,' the glass is small and all ice, how much alcohol did you even get? The kabuki grill food was tasty as ever but ordering chicken friend rice to go was disappointing as I ordered four of the largest size containers and when I got home realized each one was only 3/4 full. This was a child's birthday and Benihana had been a tradition for over a decade except May 2020 b/c covid. Not sure it will continue as a tradition going forward.
Restaurant was short staffed but he service level was still good.
I love this place
Went for Mother’s Day made a reservation for 7:30 came at 7:40 and my table wasn’t even ready had to wait for our table to be cleaned off.....Our waiter Taj was Bomb and our cook Kiera or Keira is the spelling was bomb as well nothing but laughs my youngest sister bday was the 5th so Taj and a coworker sang happy birthday to her as well very nice of him to do
Mother’s Day dinner... our chef didn’t do any tricks to entertain us. We had some first timers who were looking forward to seeing the chef perform and he didn’t do anything that Hibachi style restaurants are known for. They also messed our order up and had to take away from the already small portion of shrimp for the shrimp fried rice and stretch the shrimp to make another serving so we actually got less than what we should have. Overall, the experience was far less than what we had expected. Then... they gave us multiple Mother’s Day gift cards to be used within a week or two specifically indicating that we could use multiple cards at a time. However the back of the card said one card per person per visit. They didn’t have to lie to us.
Won’t be back service was slow the food taste like butter and garlic won’t be back every again this is a bootleg hibachi
When we got there everything happened too fast - no time to sit and enjoy it. Appetizers, salad and soup was served all at one time. Couldn't enjoy anything that fast and the soup ended up being cold. Two parts of the order never made it from the server to the chef. We go every year for a celebration and this is the first time we were really disappointed. We're glad it was only us and we didn't bring a table full of guests this time.
Food was good, staff was great. Just a little pricey for the taste. Drinks were really good.
Came here for and early Mother’s Day Dinner! When walking through the door the hostess (male) wasn’t pleasant didn’t great was very rude. Spoke with the Asian manager who was very understanding and took very good care of us. Our cook Muhammad and server Kamara were exceptional 2👍For them. So after the first entrance into the restaurant was horrible it was made up by manager, cook and server!
Overall I had an amazing experience from the friendly people at our table to the waiter and the chef everything was great highly recommend to others
Was given an attitude because we arrived 10 min before our reservation. Then our reservation was at 12noon. We sat an ordered by 12 :15 and didn't receive soup or salad before our meal until 12:50. Then didn't receive all the food we ordered so we ended up just canceling what we didn't receive. Was supposed to receive a complimentary birthday picture and it was never taken. Terrible experience. Will not return or recommend
