Food is good but extremely pricy. They upcharge a whole side of fried rice if you would rather have that then steamed. Doesn’t seem right since you are already getting steamed rice. I understand the upcharge but not for a whole side of fried rice.
For my Birthday waited 20 min past my reservation time and they sat 3 parties in front when I was told we where next part to be seated and then they take another party in front of us before I said something never had this problem in the past the hostess didn’t know how do there job at all tonight 😬😬😬
Double birthday celebration
It was superior to any other Asian food place! Simply outstanding service and the ambiance was spectacular! The chefs really seem to enjoy their jobs and making people happy. I highly recommended this for any date night.
Birthday and visit with family
Excellent time with my family. Incredibly delicious and healthy.
Clasic Benihana. Can't be beat.
Benihana offered a fun evening for my family and friends. We enjoyed the food, the chefs antics, and our overall experience. We will be back again in the summer. One downside is being seated with families we don’t know.
My son’s birthday.
I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate our birthdays (I used the 30$ coupon). It was a pretty typical night at Benihana but our server seemed a little everywhere and he kept forgetting stuff. But other than that the food, as always, was amazing.
Benihana always delivers great experience and amazing food,
Have visited this place several times, but never had a cook like Renny. If you go request Renny. very entertaining and hilarious!
The wait for people with reservations was 45 min to an hour and a half. When we finally got a table, looking at the chef at the next table... he was filthy. Watching him dig in his dirty pocket for a lighter was almost more than we could take. The floor at his feet was littered with all the food that he had splashed on the floor as he attempted to wow his customers. I am happy to say that our chef was considerably better. Service was not very good. With certain items coming at the end of the meal.
It’s been a while since I’ve been here, where I was once a regular... unsure when I will return again.
Made reservations at 6:15 got seated at 6:55. Waitress wasn’t the friendliest but the best part was our chef and the food
Double check your bill before lying. We were overcharged at the bar prior to being seated as well as at the table. Menu says add on lobster was 15$, but we were charged over 20$ for it.
They made it right afterwards, but I still advise looking over the bill closely prior to paying.
Reservation was for 6:45 the cook didn’t get to the table until 7:50!
Very nice place and went for a meeting. Got a table emptied and alone just for 3 people including myself. The food and place was amazing but I couldn’t stop being watched over the shoulder by the server. She just stands and stares at the table as if looking for someone to mess up. Other than that, the food was good. It just didn’t feel that friendly of an area especially if my clients noticed the server just looking in our direction the whole hour.
Birthday. Good food. Always love going.
Food was too salty, no A/C was on, very noisy with a lot of kids running around. Horrible tasting soda's... they use Shasta 😲
Reservation was meaningless to the restaurant. I still had to wait 30 mins to get seated which was the same wait time had I not had a reservation. I overheard this was they didn’t have enough staff to serve us.
Benihana has redeemed our confidence in their performance. Food and service were excellent! Our prior dining experience was not up to par, but this dinner exceeded our expectations. Thank you, Benihana!
The chef at our table was “Under the influence” of something; either alcohol or drugs. He could barely stand, dropping the knife and spatula numerous times. Even knocking over the bowl off eggs, which resulted in two breaking on my shoes. That is a first in my lifetime. He was so out of it, he didn’t even realize what had happened to a guest. Some other guy came and cleaned up the mess. No apology was offered.
This bungling chef was so disoriented, the meal was prolonged to the point that there were 30 minute gaps between the appetizer, rice, and meat. Worst experience at a Japanese Steakhouse of any kind, anywhere.
To Benihana’s credit, the manager comped 50% off of each check, minus the couple that stormed out after paying their bill.
Chose Benihanas to celebrate my son's 18th birthday. Service was horrific all evening, and the food made my wife sick. Multiple times we ran out of water and I had to go track down a server to bring water to multiple people at the table. When the chef came out to cook at our table he seemed a little off. He dropped eggs on the foot of one of the customers at our table, and struggled to work through cooking in the same manner as all other Benihana chefs - no fire or smoke effects, trouble cutting the shrimp, no interaction with customers at the table - he kept looking away at the door. Additionally, my wife has celiac disease and cannot have gluten. We had to remind him many times and that she could not have anything cooked with regular soy, yet he still contaminated her food and she was ill when we got home. When the chef was finished cooking, I asked for the highest raking manager on duty. Instead of the manager on duty coming over, another "supervisor" came to our table. I again asked to see the highest raking manager on duty. The manager on duty finally made it to our table and everyone, including customers that were not with my party, complained how bad the chef was. I had already paid our bill since we were running late for another event. I told the manager he should comp everyone's meals since the service was so bad. I've eaten at Benihanas all over the world, this was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a Benihanas, as well as any other restaurant I've ever eaten at.
Had dinner for two at the Plano location. Food was awesome, as usual. Our waiter, Jacob, was excellent. The bill was reasonable, consider I got dinner, drinks and a show (our chef was awesome) for under $100. Would highly recommend this place. My only issue was with parking, but that can’t be helped! Overall, would rate the experience as a 10 out of 10.
Everything from the walk in the front door up u til I left was a great time . Our chef BAWI and Joshua our server were both amazing .
Reservation was at 615. Did not get seated until 2 hours later. There was a leak in the ceiling and 3 tables were not being used causing a major delay that was not communicated upon checking in. Waited another hour at the table before the chef actually started to cook our meal. Service was horrible , major lack of communication.
I love Benihanas and wanted to go here for my birthday. I usually go to the one in Las Colinas, but my friend suggested this one. The chef got the meals mixed up and my husband did not get his lobster, my daughter did not get her shrimp, but the others got their orders right. In my opinion, the atmosphere is dark, and a little claustrophobic for my taste. The ceiling was leaking which added to a less than desirable experience
This was my first time at the restaurant but it was great. The drinks were good and the food was great. The Chef did a great job being entertaining and cooking a great tasting meal. The only downfall was that we had made a reservation but waited an additional 15-20 mins before being seated and seeing the waiter. The Chef also did not have all of the meats ready at his serving station and the manager was bringing food here and there on a tray as the Chef cooked it. The waiter also messed up a couples order but the manager did return to apologize for the mistakes.
The atmosphere was wonderful. The smell of the food being grilled was great. Customer service was consistently good all through our visit. The food was fun and delicious.
The food and the chef were great the only issue was we have a reservation at 7:30 but our table was ready until 7:45, then we were seating around 1hour waiting for the chef to came to our table, I think they need more chefs to attend the tables, that night I counted only around four chefs for all the restaurant. To much time waiting to get the food.
One of the worst experiences. The rice was hard the guy burnt the chicken and shrimp and even the zucchini. We waited at the table for a very long time. We were seat at 5:30 he didn't start cooking until 7. It was ridiculous. Our server was super sweet. But the chef was horrible he was rude to my daughter and her friends and it was her birthday. I will think twice before going back...
Food was ok, we didn’t get the steamed rice we ordered, no one seemed to give a crap if anything was correct, didn’t get seated until 30 minutes after our reservation, there was no place to wait for the 45 minutes we waited. We love the Benihana in Dallas but this one is closer to our house. Won’t make the mistake of going there again.
Benihana's is usually my favorite place to eat. I always pick this place for my birthday. We decided to go for Valentine's Day. Our waiter was great but our chef was only okay.
Food is inconsistent. Good sometimes, not so good other times. It depends on the cook.
Been to several Benihana locations in Colorado we went at least once a month. This is the first time in 5 years we were very disappointed. Our family and the family dining with us at the table all agreed we couldn't hear the chef, he was very quiet and all of our food was bland. We even asked for extra diablo sauce and lemons to try and spruce it up ourselves. I would recommend taking the drive to the Dallas location the last time we were there it was a much better experience. I do not think we'll return to this location.
It was our first time there so we didn’t know a few things, i wish someone would’ve told us a few things . We tottally dislike sharing our table 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 We were celebrating our wedding aniversary and honestly it was not the best way to do it!
Too expensive for what you get. VERY loud. 8 people to a table and my husband was only half way sitting at the table. over $120 for two of us. It was good food, but I'd rather go out 2 or 3 times for that amount of money. It was our 17th anniversary, but really not worth that type of money.
Food was really good but service was really slow. Came in at 5:45 for an earlier dinner since we had our toddler with us. Dinner took 2.5 hours and the table next to us turned twice while we were there.
The service took way too long. From the time we were seated we got our food about an hour and 15 after
It was great!
