My brother and his wife dined with me at lunch . The price at lunch is less then at night, but the quality of steaks were not the same. The filet was a little tough with some fat, and the steak was over cooked. The waitress was excellent, but I blame the chef for the over cooked steaks.
Fantastic dinner with my family for my birthday! Met some great people who also shared our hibachi table! Great service and of course the food was wonderful! Love this place! Parking is probably the most confusing at this location, but just know you need to park in the garage and you are good to go!
Wow! This was our first time at Benihana's and they did not disappoint. The people we sat with where rather dull, but the chef entertained us and was outstanding. Did I mention how GREAT the YUM YUM SAUCE was.....I mean Delicious. The only hiccup was the server charged us for the other couples food, so we had to wait for the manager to reimburse us. But all and all we had a fantastic time and will be back.
We had a terrible experience! Had a 6:15 reservation, arrived at 6:00, and weren’t seated till nearly 7:00! The hostess staff could have cared less! They defiantly over booked so we ended up waiting basically the normal wait time which was 1 hour! No special dessert for my husbands 40th birthday. Was even offered. They literally just came to the table and sang. Totally a let down and very disappointing! We will NOT be going back!
Overall the restaurant was great. However, the person who was hosting our table did not need to be at work that day. It was my husband's birthday and it was not even acknowledged even when we went to the front desk to have the waitress reminded. The wait acted as if she was very inexperienced I asked for a bottled water never got it. I've never been out to a place and had to pack my own food however I guess there's a first time for everything. If I go back to that location, I will remember her face and that is one table I will not be seated.
My experience here was absolutely atrocious. This was my first time dining at Benihana and was celebrating my birthday. My server Gustavo was very negligent. Any time my party guests needed anything we had to flag him down. I'd observed several other guests celebrating their special occasions in quite extravagant ways. Mine was COMPLETELY forgotten. After throwing us our checks, one of my party guests had to once again, flag Gustavo down, and remind him that it was my birthday. He then came to the table with a plastic cup and a candle poked through the bottom. He quickly took a picture of me and had left the table just as quickly as he'd arrived. As my guests were getting ready to leave, we realized that one guests left over food was boxed with another person left overs that had SHRIMP. This guest REPEATEDLY let our server know that she was deathly allergic to shell fish, specifically shrimp. His mishap was potentially life threatening. My experience here was a joke. I would never recommend this place to anyone, nor will I ever return. Trash.
The service was ok i had To get our waiters anttention several times because He was entertaining friends at the bar. The soup was luke warm on a very cold day. The chef wasn’t entertaining at all he was there to make our meal that’s it. the chef at the table next to us was very entertaining. The steak was tough and the rice was dry. Also if your there during happy hour have Grey deals at the bar but if your at a table it’s full price. Guess you gotta know that.
NYE dinner. The restaurant was completely full with lots of people waiting. We made reservations, but all of us did not arrive on time. We were seated reasonably fast, but our chef took a looooong time to come to our table. The good thing is: our server took really good care of us, so the long wait was not a problem. We will keep coming! Thanks
I love Benihana's but this was not the best experience, which I am very disappointed about since this was part of our New Year's Eve celebration. I made a reservation for 7 about two months ahead of time. We arrived a few minutes early and were told that they were running about 20 minutes behind. There was standing room only for waiting and it was almost 50 minutes later when we were finally seated. Our chef was fabulous and the food, as always, was amazing. What almost ruined the evening was our waiter. First of all, he was extremely slow. The tables on either side of us who were seated AFTER us, all had drinks and soup and salads long before us. The waiter had a very laid back demeanor and didn't seem to care that we had already waited almost an hour and were hungry and thirsty. He also had a dry sarcasm that none of us were in the mood for but he didn't seem to pick up on that. We had to flag him down for drink refills and our ticket. Seeing as the reservations were running so far behind, you would think the wait staff would act with a little more urgency to keep things moving along, but not so in this case. We didn't leave from what was supposed to be a 7pm reservation until after 9:30pm, which with three children did not go over so well.
My grandchildren loved it. We had two birthdays...a child and an adult. They were treated very well and we had a good time. However, the table was not totally cleaned and food was left on the table and on a plate where we were seated. Whoever setup the supplies/food forgot the chicken and our Chef had to leave the table and and locate the chicken. Not his fault. One of the family asked for her green tea early and she got it. Nobody else ever received their tea. Water refills were warm. Asked for ice but the water was still not cold. Requested the Kabuki hats for the kids when I made the reservation, but this restaurant did not have any .
The food is always good. Fresh ingredients. Sensitive to dietary requests. Low sodium, low carb, some no mushrooms, vegetarian, etc. Some cooks are more entertaining than others.
I have always thought the tables were crowded and dining chairs could be better. Style of this place is generic.
I really don't care for wait staff with too many face piercings, or tattoos. Seems unclean.
Just an all around bad experience. We had reservation for 6:30. Did not get seated until 7:30. Food came by 8:30 after complaining. Apparently they didn't have chefs and over booked or underestimated how long the patrons will stay at a table. So many were complaining. Manager gave discounts off the bill but it just really was not a pleasant experience. We were celebrating a birthday too. Not sure I would go back.
Food was excellent and preparation was fun - both have become “givens” over the years. One minor annoyance: the chef brought out yum yum sauce instead of mustard sauce. Nobody at table wanted it, and we witnessed several other tables not pleased they didn’t have the mustard sauce. Chef said that they had been encouraged to push yum yum sauce. He was able to get mustard sauce and we were all thankful!
This is a shame because I used to give this location five stars. So many great chefs and managers have left due to problems with the corporation’s greed!! This visit, the hostess was in desperate need of training in customer service skills. Chef, Van, was quite good and also very pleasant. Service was good. Again, the overriding problem was the experience used to be great, not good.
We had reservations but had to wait to be seated which was fine but once we were seated we waited over an hour before a chef came to our table. Other tables that were seated after us were being served yet we were still waiting for a chef to prepare our meal. When he finally came he didn't have everything needed he kept saying items were out of stock but we asked him to check on other carts which he did and was able to find what we asked for. The manager came and explained to reason for the delay and took care of our bill with exception of our drinks. The problem I have mostly is I travelled a great distance and had to be at work at 7am and didn't get home until after 2am. It was first time at that location as my 2nd time at one of the restaurants and truly didn't feel welcomed. Not solely basing on the color of my skin but the way it looked it may have had some of the reasoning.
Two hour wait for our reservation time, only to find out that several staff members called in sick and the establishment is under new management, which is creating problems in the restaurant. The staff on site did everything they could to accommodate us but unfortunately the restaurant was overwhelmed with guests. OpenTable needs a process for notifying its customers that reservations are running behind in situations like this. They did the best they could but OpenTable needs to step up their game to assist restaurants when this kind of thing happens, which is fairly normal in this industry. For now, know that if you are going to this restaurant you will likely have an extended wait time past your reserved.
