We had such a great time here. Our chef Tito was just wonderful! So much personality and had us laughing the whole time! We would definitely go back. Food and drinks were great too!
Benihana is my absolute favorite restaurant in the Pittsburgh area. We go each year for my birthday, and this year was outstanding. Our chef, Tyson, was one who had served us two years ago - he's very personable and an outstanding chef/cook. The food was delicious as always. So, nice to see the manager again also - he says he been there over 30 years. That's an accomplishment in this day and age. Thank you again for making my birthday celebration very memorable.
We were there for my daughter's birthday. The waiter was very friendly and accommodating and the chef was very experienced and did a fine job. This was our second time there.
It was quite busy for a weeknight and the noise level was high. When making the reservation, we wish we would have known about the on-line birthday coupon. Overall, we had a very good experience and we will go back to eat there again.
We had dinner here for my daughters birthday. We have celebrated birthdays here before and it is always a fun time. Our chef, Fernando, was excellent. A few of us commented that is was probably the best food we have had there. Everything was cooked properly and not overly greasy or salty. Our waitress who has been there for 45 years was also just wonderful. You are lucky if you get her! Overall, really good dining experience!
The foods was absolutely delicious! A friend and I went to celebrate their birthday, and we were seated with a few other small groups. The groups were pleasant to meet and talk to - not nearly as awkward as I expected. I think the waitress was a bit disorganized in the timing of our soup, salad, and rice, but our hibachi chef was lovely. He was skilled but also compassionate and concerned about people's potential allergies. He gave just enough of a show without over-doing it so as to be awkward. The amount of food and the quality is definitely worth the money. My friend said it was the best birthday he'd had in a while.
Hadn't been in over 28 years...still fun...still delicous!
The food was very good. I was disappointed because I never rec'd my birthday gift voucher so they didn't give me credit for it. There's no way to produce the necessary bar code without the certificate and one was never sent to me this year.
I've been going to this location for 45 years (first as Samurai, now as Benihana). While the recipes have changed a little bit from previous years, they're still better than any other Japanese steakhouse I've been to. LOVE this place!
Chong was an excellent server. She has waited on us before and her attitude, friendliness and overall service was the best. Highly recommend her as a server.
Hibachi at it's best!!! We splurged and ordered the grill lobster tails. $$
But worth every penny! Would have given 5 stars all around but service really slow at the beginning before the chef came. TLW
Our server wasn't the greatest and our chef wasn't the greatest either.
Our chef Elvis was great! He made our visit well worth it!
Delicious, well prepared food right in front of us! The chef took time to ensure our orders were correctly taken and made each person feel that their meal was crafted personally. The sumptuous food combined with the incredible service made us SO happy that we always know that Benihana is at the top of our list!! Thank you. Job well done!!!!
Made ravioli for Easter. We do this every year
Very expensive compared to similar type restaurants in the Pittsburgh area. Quality of food was average at best. Service was very good.
It was fun!
Everything has great It was my Birthday and special day for me and my girl friend. The Chief was great and entertaining
Great food, atmosphere has declined over the years but still the best tasting food
Perfect and very enjoyable
Tyson & our waitress were outstanding as usual!!!
The only suggestion I would make is to have the two of them train the other staff to have consistent service and food...
My friends and I met up at Benihana to celebrate my friend’s birthday. Because it was so busy, we ended up sitting near the bar. We sat at our table for an extended period of time and watched servers and restaurant staff walk by us a dozen times before anyone stopped to get our drink order. The service was incredibly slow and it felt like we were ignored. On multiple occasions we had to ask to order, ask for refills on our drinks, and ask to have our credit cards run to pay for the bill. The service was hurried and rushed and not proactive at all. When our food arrived, it looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for 10 minutes. It was luke warm and the meat was overcooked. We will think twice about going back.
Food when finally received with the correct order was very good. However the wrong order was put in and had to ask 3 times for correct order. Also ordered chicken and steak combo. Paid 30+ dollars for it and was very disappointed in chicken portion. I had heard many good things about this location and was very excited to visit but overall was slightly let down.
I always go to Benihana but this time it just wasn't great. The food was cooked a little too long and there was wayyy too much salt on it. Our chef wasn't very personable and hardly entertaining which is a big reason why people choose Benihana. I think I may be finding a new hibachi restaurant.
Loved it...will be back...food yummy...the atmosphere...the people
We came in for lunch on Valentine's Day. The one thing i wasn't super happy about at first was the holiday menu they gave to us for lunch. Everything was a $30+, 5 or 6 course meal. That's makes sense to give out for dinner, not lunch - Just a suggestion. In the long run, everything turned out wonderful!
I have been eating at this Benihana for years and I have to say I was pretty disappointed the past few times we have gone. The cooks are pretty sub-par. During our last trip, My lobster was still half opaque and therefore undercooked. All of our filets had grit running through them which is such a huge disappointment! The sushi and soup/salad were all great this time, and the drinks were poured heavy! But otherwise, it was just an okay experience. I think we will stay away for a while and give a drive to Nakama a try.
Dinner was delicious and Fernando (our chef) was very entertaining to a family seated at out table. Our server was also excellent (older gentleman) and attentive. It seemed a little rushed and I don't know why as the restaurant was busy, but we definitely felt a underlying "hurry up" atmosphere. Also, portions seemed smaller than previously, but delicious all the same. A good place for a special occasion and great entertainment for families.
Got there at 845. Did not eat till 1030. Food and drinks overpriced and not worth it. Service was horrible!
Me and my fiancé took my mother-in-law here for a birthday celebration dinner!! It was a pleasant experience.
Ian our chef was spot on with the humor and every single thing he cooked. Very thorough food & service, girlfriend and I left very pleased.
Only reason I didn’t give a 5 Star is bc I normally go to ichiban hibachi grill, and there the vegan/ vegetarian options are awesome! An the portions are huge! And the cooking is way faster! So I was very disappointed in the 1 vegetarian option. It was a tofu steak with hardly any vegetables and on top of that it was a small potion. Very disappointed in the food as someone that eats mostly veggies but everything was else was very enjoyable.
We enjoyed our meal for my birthday. The food was fresh and delicious. I would recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.
We came to Benihana to celebrate my husband's birthday and my promotion at work. We had Chef Fernando & he was excellent! He knew all of the fun tricks that we've seen at Benihana before and a few more were up his sleeve! The food was amazing as always and the staff was in tune with our needs. There were birthday celebrations at the end of the meal with a free photo to take home. It was just a really nice date night for us.
We noticed a lot of families coming to Benihana on a Monday night - so this is a very kid-friendly restaurant and probably better timing for families than some of the more crowded evenings on the weekends. We will definitely be back for our next special celebration!
The whole family went and we had a great time. Friendly waiters and cook. The grandchildren love to go there. Like the noodles.
Good as usual
Always a great place to go with a group of friends. We had a great table experience with Tito cooking. He was so entertaining with his table side cooking skills. Food was excellent. Steak was cooked to a perfect med. rare.
Food as usual was very good and plentiful. Chef was fairly new but he tried his best. We were celebrating a couple of birthdays so the $30 birthday coupons certainly helped with the check. We've been going here for many years to celebrate and have always enjoyed the experience.
We have been dining at Benihana (formerly Samurai) for over 40 years. Dining there is like dining with family. Manager and some of the wait staff are old friends. Food is always excellent and chefs are skilled.
Food and experience was good overall.
Great!! Wonderful food and service !!!!!
