Took my daughter for her birthday over at the Miramar location. Super friendly staff, as soon as I walked in, agreed to us, and he wished her a happy birthday. We got seated quickly no delays when it came to food or drinks. Everything was spectacular.

A party of 9 to Benihana for my daughter’s 16th birthday expecting a special evening. What we got was a frustrating, poorly managed experience from start to finish. We arrived at 6:30 for a 7:00 reservation. I asked to set up a birthday cake in advance and was told I’d be notified when the table was ready—but no one followed up. I had to remind them myself, only to find out the table had been ready the whole time. My entire party stood waiting in the lobby unnecessarily. Once seated, we were missing a chair and a place setting, even though I reserved for 9 people. It took 20 minutes to fix that. We didn’t get drinks until almost 8:00 PM, and the cooking table wasn’t even turned on. The chef came at 8:20 but couldn’t start cooking until 8:40 because the table was cold. By then, everyone was hungry and annoyed. Service was almost nonexistent. Our waiter showed up twice—once at the beginning and once for refills. He didn’t clear plates, offer drinks, or bring the included ice cream. We had to use our dinner forks to eat the birthday cake, and they charged a cake-cutting fee on top of that. We paid $450 for an experience that felt chaotic, unorganized, and rushed. The food was just okay, but the service was far below acceptable especially for a special occasion. I expected much better from Benihana and won’t be returning.

We have been going to Benihana‘s since my 30th birthday and I am now 70. Very disappointed with the overcrowding of the tables. The noise level was off the charts. I know I’m older but I had my daughter my son-in-law and two grandchildren with me and we could not hear each other next to each other. People at our table were talking to us or trying to talk to us and we couldn’t communicate at all. The waitress was pleasant but un attentive. My experiences have truly been better. This was disappointing. We were celebrating my granddaughter‘s graduation. I don’t know not what I expected.

Went there on a Graduation night, but despite having an OT reservation, we were seated 45 minutes late. The restaurant was full of RUDE, LOUD MOUTHED Black and Hispanic women that I could hear from three or four tables away. The bill was already pretty expensive, but my Mom wanted to pay for it. She wanted to leave a tip, but not starting at 18% and going higher. That's too much. I understand the festive environment , but I'm going to explore other locations to feed my family.

I’ve had better experiences at Benihana in the past. This visit was just ok and not worth the money spent. The food all tasted the same. Timing of the presentation of the food was different and felt rushed (shrimp appetizer was served last). Never got the tea with our meal and had to get up to ask for a knife. Worst part is you come out smelling like fried oily food. We don’t think we will be returning anytime soon.
