Benihana - Minneapolis Ratings and Reviews
The 1st time that I had gone to Bennihana my experience was excellent, above and beyond what I had expected it to be the 2nd time was similar to the 1st but the 3rd time which was a couple days ago was horrible the service was not up to par our server was unattentive and we were with a very loud couple at our table which made our experience more unpleasant the cook unfortunately as well was a little slow it took almost 2 hours for us to receive all of our food. His cooking skills were also not up to par which made us a little disappointed because that is a big reason as to why we chose to go to Bennihana for dinner. All in all I will say that the food is usually good there we just had an unfortunate night that makes me wonder if I should come back to that location again.
We enjoyed our hibachi chef, very funny and talented. The food was delicious too. We brought our 4 year old daughter with us, it was her first time and she thought it was the coolest thing ever! We attended on Valentine's day for dinner with reservations at 7:30pm. We were seated at 7:45 but we didn't start ordering until 8:30 and the chef didn't start cooking until 8:45. I figured it was just busy because of the holiday but wouldn't they be extra staffed? It didn't ruin my experience because I love Benihana's so much!
It was Valentine’s Day. Our cook was clumsy barely understood what we were saying. He dropped his utensils many of times, he had very sloppy knife cuts. It was like he was rushing or didn’t want to be there. He messed up our order after he had asked us what we order 4 times. I really feel like I spent too much money for the poor service. The waiter was rude & slow. The cook didn’t make any jokes, tried to do stunts but couldn’t execute any of the simple things that cooks normally do. Never once made a joke or tried to make the evening special. It was very poor service. For it being a $100 dinner I was hoping to at least enjoy myself & that didn’t happen. The management was no help. Really hoping I hear from management soon after this post.
My experience was eating dinner with Randy Moss, by pure luck! The hostess was a bit rude. Asking him to by my 2 dinner seats, for his privacy. Which I stand up for Randy, he’s just a human being like any other person roaming this planet. All he wanted was to eat and could careless who was sitting with his group. As for me it was an experience to eat with a superstar, and to see how Randy lives a normal life just like everyone else.
I live next to the mall of America location but I refuse to return there! This location in Minneapolis is the best and the server and chef were both amazing and attentive. The food tasted amazing and the chef was engaging with the whole table to put on an amazing show! I don’t know what it is about this location but the food seems to taste better than other locations even though I order the same thing! I can’t say enough great things about this location about their employees! My sister and I drive the extra 20 minutes here than going to MOA which is only 5 minutes from our house.
The food was good, but the service left something to be desired. We didn't receive our salads until after the chef arrived at our table. We also ordered one sushi roll that did not come until close to the end of our meal. We were also charged for an extra rice and they made no effort to correct it even when the waitress was made aware by the chef.
